[Archived] Clearout begins at Rovers

Dann is not a Premier League player , I would be surprised if he moves ..

Rhodes scores goals and that wins football matches ....

If somebody comes in for Rhodes with a bid of £7 million upwards he will go ....

Whether that club is Chelsea ,Cardiff ,Bolton or Stanley !

The FFP is I suspect a good vehicle for our owners to hide behind !

If Bolton sign him for £8 mill and get promotion , will the FFP rules not allow them to be promoted ????

NOT A BLOODY CHANCE IN HELL

Owners can get round FFP if there is a will too ,,,,..

tbh, Blueboy3333, nobody will know the true financial accounts for last season/year until they are in public domain in December. I'm very sure these accounts will be on here for us the fans to discuss and give our views on it

The accounts for this financial year started on 13th July. so the payoffs to Murphy and Gomes would be on last year accounts and NOT this years which will be used for the FFP rules

That's why i asked MM if he knew any different, as he seems to suggest he does.

Chaddy for once makes a good point. We still owe 5,5 mil to Huddersfield. There is a two million sell on clause. Total 7.5mil. How on earth can we sell him for less than we paid for him?

How does that effect anything unless we need the money?

He's got 4 years on his contract. Based on last season (and the rest of his career), that'll produce over 100 goals, and about 150 points for us. If that's not worth at least £8m then whatever we spend it on certainly won't be either. There's no sane reason to sell him at a loss.

Well at least we agree on Rochina and Rhodes. Excellent post, completely agree. People are talking as though 25 goals + a season have no tangible financial or other value.

Has to be said though that Shaw's statement was at best extremely weak and at worst bordering on recklessness. As close to a "Please come and buy our players, we're a bit stuck for cash" as you could possibly get.

Im sure most fans are aware of the realities of our financial situation, but the message that should be being put out to potential predators is something liike:

We've done our rebuilding of the squad over the close season and we"re very happy with that. If anyone wanted to take someone we consider to be one of our key players off us at this late stage of the transfer window they'll have to more or less break the bank to do so."

If you take say six mill, pay out the two point five mill, owed then clear off with the rest, knowing that youll never be around to pay off the other instalments. Thats one way of doing it leaving the club well and truly up that creek without a paddle. After all whos going to be running to India to try and claim any outstanding money back.

The only problem I have with your argument, is why spend the money on the Academy ?

That's the thing that has always baffled me, if they intended to do a runner.

wasn't what you may think, but did involve Mezcal and about 16 hours of memory loss.

Why bother getting another 11 players in? Why bother getting shut of Kean? Why bother keeping Singh out of the picture? Why bother getting shut of Agnew? Why bother to keep paying the wages? Why bother nipping over to watch v Everton?

Lets be honest there's not much left in the way of sales. They have gone past the tipping point of just being here for a quick buck. Would I trust them? Never. But with the removal of certain t ossers in recent times it does feel slightly different.

Anyway. Shaw should go before any players.

Employ 2nd division administrators - get 2nd division football. Along with a load of racking you didn't even need probably.

Maybe runner is the wrong term but more hand the club over to someone else.

Could'nt have put it better myself.

Btw it would'nt be a total shock to me, if they surprised everybody in the transfer market before it closes.

Be just like them !

Lets not forget £63m for the team who finish bottom of the Prem next season.

I believe them when they say, they like owning a football club of Rovers stature especially if we're in the Prem.

I think they love the publicity, good or bad.

Shaw Out !

Don't think you need to know much about Luca Paciola to understand that our financial position is likely to be perilous.

To think otherwise is head in sand stuff.

As to why we might sell Rhodes at a 'bargain price', well if you are desperate for cash and your lenders and creditors have you by the b@lls, you really aint got much choice.

How do we know Venky's don't have a massive vault under their house, full of Gold.

They really like Gold, so i've heard - I suppose ' wee Stevie ' would be the one to ask about that.

The same vague kite-flying on every thread. Nothing to back it up, just lots of 'ifs' and 'likelys'.

I''l ask you again, how do you know Venky's aren't covering all the losses?

If they are, then why did they take the banking over to India?

Why didn't they pay the Barclays o/d off like they promised they would at the time of purchase.

I get the impression they're not covering anything and are running the whole club with a combination of flogging decent players, parachute payments and the tick.
