Ok, I have some news and it is from inside the coaching staff..they are happy with progression apart from Best, Dann and King who have big unwanted egos...if they could all be moved on they will...

Now the one you don't want to hear...Rhodes looks uninterested and lazy in training...the general consensus is that he's not worth his place if he isn't scoring and that if someone offers us £8m they'll "snatch their hand off"

I genuinely can't say who told me this...I have no reason to mislead anyone and I'm always positive on here..if it helps they're not expecting an £8m bid because he isn't worth that and they won't take a loss on him.

No surprises there.

They simply might have no option other than to take a loss on Rhodes unless they can raise £5million+ from other departures.

As far as I'm aware there's no necessity to sell him he just appears to lost his edge and doesn't offer enough when not scoring goals..

On a personal note I have said for a long time that having Rhodes limits us because his all round game is so poor. He can't play up on his own and if u play 442 u often get over run in midfield...

Like I said..the stuff about Best, Dann, King and Rhodes is true...believe it or not, I'm honestly not that bothered.

Ha ha fair enough...it wasn't specifically aimed at anyone it was me reaching for my tin hat

Think you will realise that 'Rhodes' is a sensitive subject on here. I think there are some who naively think we will get £10m to £12m which IMO is absolute nonsense. For what it is worth, I have long maintained that he will go for substantially less than the aspirational price quite simply because market factors and finances will determine that.

There is speculation that Rovers are trying to get shut of Dann but there don't seem to be many interested at the required £5m to £6m and little wonder.

IMO, Best and King haven't performed - both, particularly Best, are big earners and it's no surprise that, possibly, Rovers want shut.

Bottom line is that we only have one asset who could readily bring in £6millionish+ and we know who that is !

Prepare for meltdown come the end of August.

I really hope none of the new users take anything you say Mercerman to be credible info you are as reliable as a chocolate tea pot.

Hey there - Mani started this discussion, not me !

I have just added my views to the points he's raised.

Kamy's view was that the owners are frustrated by the FFP rules - IMO (and I could be wrong) I don't think the owners would risk losing face by selling Rhodes for anything less than a profit.

The info that I passed isn't from the owners..they may have different ideas. It's from the coaching staff.

Like I said, I'm not fussed if people believe it or not..I'm just a supporter myself and I don't want any kudos...just know that I'd want to know that info if one of you lot had it...

I can assure you it's not watered down either!

Like I said, no suggestion we NEED to sell as has been previously stated by others..this is about GB not accepting big egos in terms of Dann, Best and King.

In terms of Rhodes...if they get some of the ££ to replace him with say Billy Sharp and Connor Wickham or someone of that ilk..I'd probably do the deal...this is only my opinion

Having said that if Rhodes can get himself fired up again then I'd be made up!!

Looks like Formica has gone to a club in Mexico.

Rochina has tweeted the below

Ruben Rochina Naixes
Friend @ Gatoformica10 I wish you well in your new stage in mexico! I wish you well, trust you and then you will be okay! a hug

Ruben Rochina Naixes

amigo @Gatoformica10 te deseo lo mejor en tu nueva etapa en mexico! te deseo lo mejor, confio en ti y todo te va a salir bien! un abrazo

I'm very pleased that Formica is leaving. been very decent player for us but nothing more. good luck to him in Mexico

I'm not surprise that Best, Dann and King big egos.

why would you take a loss on Rhodes by selling 5 million when if we do sell him this summer we have to pay the remaining fee outstanding of 5.5 million instead of paying 2.5 million that we should be paying this month as part of the payment deal for Rhodes. Huddersfield negotiated that if we sold Rhodes this summer that we must pay all of the remaining fee outstanding.

so Mercerman, how does it make sense to sell Rhodes for lost when you got to pay Huddersfield the full fee outstanding plus sign a replacement aswell???

I agree with Bowyer stance on NOT accepting Big egos from any players!

Bowyer biggest task is getting Rhodes back to his best for BRFC!

if Rhodes did leave and hopefully he doesn't but Sharp or Wickham would be very decent/goodish replacement for Rhodes.

I'm amazed. You appear to be under the impression that people in football tell the truth!! :rover:

Dann is the case to disprove this in one. He cost us circa 1.5m when he came from Brum. His contract remuneration over 4 years made the whole deal up to 6 or 7 million which is the figure that Brum leaked to the press to avoid losing face with their fans.

Chaddy - you are making the assumption that Rovers can afford the £2.5m instalment we think is due at the end of August.

What we do know is that the Rovers are losing money heavily, at an alarming rate, It may well be that they have to find £7millionish in order to pay off Robbo, Orr, Givet, Etuhu, MGP, Formica etc in order to save £14millionish in the longer term.

So, sale of Rhodes for £5/6millionish, plus a player (Craig Davies ?) plus add-ons will allow Rovers to discharge their debt to Huddersfield and also save £6millionish on Rhodes' wages over the remaining period of his contract.

Something has to give and Rovers simply can't afford to carry on with a squad approaching 40. Think we've all heard/read Bowyer and Shaw going on about the need to cut costs.

No Rovers' fan would want to sell a Rhodes firing on all cylinders and getting close to 30 goals a season, however, my personal view is that it is inevitable given the economics of Rovers' position. Unfortunately, we have seen it too often in Rovers' history beginning with the likes of Vernon, Pickering, England, Newton etc right through to more recent times with Duff etc.

I suppose he thinks he's being 'honest'. Most modern footballers mercenaries care more about the Sky money than the football fans' ticket money anyway so they may as well admit it. Every now and again though some prick will really rub the fans faces in it, just for a laugh.

I hope this **** gets his comeuppance one day. Such a shame that Sky have made mediocre 'sportsmen' like him millionaires.

You enjoy your caravanning, Brad. With any luck, one day you'll be living in one.
