pg Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Well this is entertaining. Australia should declare and give our bowlers a chance on this greentop before it dries out too much. Quote

oldjamfan1 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Unbelievable. Quickest 5 for, ever maybe? I went to edgbaston day one on a corporate do and through poor travel planning missed first 30mins. Turned out to be a great day but at the time I was mildly irritated missing a wicket but couldn't really say much as it was a freebie. If I was 40 mins late to this I'd be inconsolable. Equalled the quickest test five-for apparently. 19 balls 1 Quote
den Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) 46-8 Unbelievable 47 - 9 Broad 7-11 Edited August 6, 2015 by den 1 Quote
Gav Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Stokes catch was tremendous, as Nassar said it was almost behind him when he caught it, great bit of cricket. Quote

onlyonejackwalker Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Working from 7am till 12pm. Just got back. 60 all out! :) ;) And Anderson isnt even playing!!!! :0 Useless Aussies. Come on England - 450 would be nice. Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 60 all out ties at 7th position in the lowest score Test history of the Aussies. Apart from v South Africa in 2011 all the low scores were v England and years ago. Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted August 6, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted August 6, 2015 Gutted I'm at work, what an unbelievable morning by the sounds of things! Quote
den Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) The best individual performance of the day - cook making that coin come down tails. Brilliant. Edited August 6, 2015 by den Quote
Mattyblue Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Aussies just can't cope with the moving ball, be that seam, swing or spin. They were also tonked in spinning conditions in India. Edited August 6, 2015 by Mattyblue Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Surely that was missing Bell's leg stump, is Hawkeye infallible? 1 Quote
ABBEY Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Just seen the score crap reaction on m5 .. Amazing... Quote
den Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Surely that was missing Bell's leg stump, is Hawkeye infallible? It did look like it. Quote
ABBEY Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Was it the pitch , bowling or stupid ? Not seen any as in away in Cornwall for a few days Quote
jim mk2 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 How would you describe Australia's batting - criminal ? At least they've got one decent batter - Extras. Perhaps he should open the 2nd innings. Quote
den Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 How would you describe Australia's batting - criminal ? Was that a joke Jim? IMO, they just weren't prepared for how well England could bowl on that wicket. Quote

I'm sure I've mentioned it before on this thread but I was at the SA V Aussies game in 2011 the day they were bowled out for 46. I think still the only Test match ever when there was some part of all 4 innings in a day. Quote

Root and Bairstow playing well. Edited August 6, 2015 by AllRoverAsia Quote
den Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Root is some player. Bairstow I'm still not sure about. Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Root is some player. Bairstow I'm still not sure about. Yes Bairstow has had a bit of luck today. Not sure about his stance and his change to holding his bat high on the bowlers run up, but working so far. England were the highest scorers in the Australian 1st Innings with 14 Extras, second highest was Johnson with 13. Only 3 Australian batsmen scored more runs than Broad got in wickets. Doug Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 What a great day for us. Agree that Bairstow has been very lucky, very poor feet. Quote
Baz Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Should have declared without batting and stuck them back in. Can you imagine the reaction that would have got in the Aussie dressing room. Quote
