Mattyblue Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 Not the way NZ are playing. Their batting has been atrocious last few games, Williamson aside. Quote

Husky Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 Hameed is Lancashire's Brereton. He's no better against division 2 attacks. Jennings has also gone down the pan a bit. Quote
Proudtobeblue&white Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 We owe the Aussies one. We beat both semi-finalists that played today. It would be a fitting tribute if we could make the final. The competition has been superbly organized, the weather has largely behaved, the fans of all countries absolutely brilliant. Today's match at OT, probably the best. Come on England (Wales,,,,and Ireland), let's make one final this year! 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 It has. Shame no bugger outside committed fans know it’s on. Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Australia win the toss and - not surprisingly - bat first. It might turn out to be a good toss to lose. Quote
Husky Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 As usual almost everyone out there is saying the toss wins the game. At least now there can be no trash talking from the haters when England make it to the final. Bring it On! Let's finally have an England sports team to be proud of... 2 Quote
darrenrover Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Aussies 166-7, we can't stuff this up surely........ Come on England! Quote
den Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Only thing I will say is that England won’t find it any easier on this wicket. There’s something in it for every bowler. Need to stop Aussies batting full 50 overs. Quote
den Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 124/0 after 17. shows what I know about cricket. ? 1 Quote
Hanks Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 (edited) Great performance from England, we have neither had a better chance of winning the world cup. Edited July 11, 2019 by Hanks i Quote
den Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Brilliant from England. I don’t think there’s a weakness in their side. 1 Quote
philipl Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 That was crushing. Monster win. Kiwis will be much tougher. Quote
jim mk2 Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Astonishing performance. England should play all their games at Edgbaston, in fact anywhere except London 1 Quote
den Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 The final is on channel4 as well as sky. Free to air. 3 Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Just now, den said: The final is on channel4 as well as sky. Free to air. That is fantastic news den 1 Quote
matt83 Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 This made me laugh. What’s the difference between Cinderella and an Australian batsman. Cinderella knew when to leave the ball. 1 Quote
Husky Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Kerrannnngggggggg!!! What a crusher. Live cricket on channel 4? Is that the first time since 2005? Quote
Mattyblue Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Apart from when the F1 is on them it moves to More4. So really like old times! Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Put the F1 on more 4! There is no drama or action as they just follow each other, wait for the pit stops and see which Mercedes wins. Quote
matt83 Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Wonder if they’ll have mambo number 5 as the theme tune. Quote
matt83 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Sussex 127 all out. They were 77/0 so 10 wickets for 50 runs. Quote
only2garners Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Clearly a turning wicket Matt. They were 77-0 with Onions and Gleeson bowling. Maxwell and Parkinson came on and cleaned them up for 50. Jennings and Davies have got Lancs to 48-0, although Sussex have only just brought a spinner on. Quote
matt83 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Other than Englands ability to bottle any situation at any time my main concern with tomorrow is Lords. England are usually shite in London, particularly Lords, in many ways would be better not to play there. Out of interest if had to pick one or the other would people on here prefer to win the ashes or the World Cup? For me it wouldn’t even be a close decision with the ashes every day but it seems people are moving to more white cricket. I’ve always thought of the ashes as the prem, 50 overs fa Cup and t20 league cup. Nice to win any but in my head at least one winner. 1 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 (edited) I dearly want the WC but I'm an Ashes man for sure. Tomorrow I fear that Guptill is due a big one and we know what Williamson can do. This will be England's seventh World Cup match at Lord's. They have won four of their previous six games but lost their solitary fixture at this venue in this World Cup (a 64-run defeat by Australia). Edited July 13, 2019 by AllRoverAsia Quote
