gumboots Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Yes, Root's innings yesterday and his partnership with Sibley provided the platform for Buttler and Woakes. He may get a lot wrong but he was spot on yesterday in occupying the crease, wearing the bowlers down and putting the seeds of doubt in their minds. His captaincy was questionable at times, and his tactical choices but he got that bit right yesterday Quote

chaddyrovers Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Great win by England. Such great cricket on offer. Shame people werent in the ground watching it. Still think England was a batsman light again and need to bring Crawley back into the team for next test for Anderson. Quote
Ewood Ace Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Cracking game of cricket going on at Northampton. 21 Wickets yesterday and in the morning session today 7 wicket and 160 runs. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Ben Stokes to miss the rest of the remaining series for family reasons. Flying to New Zealand https://twitter.com/SkyCricket/status/1292442519805014017?s=20 Quote

Of maybe a wicker keeper and let Buttler concentrate on his batting. Quote

Dreams of 1995 Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Well done Woaksy. Went to my school and played for the same cricket team as myself, Aston Manor. A whole 4 years older than me but remember at the time Woakes being the guy you tried to be like. Love every second of watching him play! 1 Quote

He wasn't over shadowed by Buttler at all. Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Big win for Lancs today, did Durham ply a shadow squad or something? Quote

chaddyrovers Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 Crawley's inning in the 3rd test was superb. Shown a range of shots and he has worked very hard to improve his game. He himself took his self off to India and Australia to improve his game against Spin and fast bowling. Hats off to him Anderson's bowling is still very good and deserves to be in the team even at the age of 38 2 Quote

oldjamfan1 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Well, is today the day that a pace bowler reaches 600 test wickets for the first time? C’mon Jimmy!! 3 Quote

He could have done it yesterday if the other players stopped dropping catches, he's one of the few people from Burnley i like to see doing well. 1 Quote

The weather for Tuesday doesn’t look good. It could be that Jimmy may even have to wait to get his 600th in the next Test series in India next January. That would be so frustrating for him, especially after seeing all those dropped catches. 1 Quote

Its a great shame for Anderson didn't get it today. I cannot see the India test series going ahead given the current pandemic problems in India Quote

Which is incredible and the equivalent of about a 1.5 second gap in a marathon race given that Jimmy and Kumble both bowled 30,000+ deliveries to reach 600 wickets. 1 Quote
Riversider28 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Great start by Lancashire in the first game of the T20 Blast competition. Keaton Jennings smashed 108 with Davies backing up on 65. They were lucky with the weather as it was the only match to be completed. Next game is away to Leicestershire on Saturday. 1 Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Thanks Riversider28 and Ewood Ace. With all the Covid nonsense I lost my bearings about the international calandar. Quote
