Riversider28 Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Another great win by India in the 2nd T20 match in Sydney. Chasing a daunting 195 to win, Dhawa and Rahul put on 56 for the 1st wicket. Kohli hit 40 and Pandya finished off the Aussies with an unbeaten 42, including two 6’s in the final over to wrap up the series 2-0 with one to play. Quote
Rogerb Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 South Africa tour is now off. BBC reports. Quote
Rogerb Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Two test tour of Sri Lanka to go ahead in January with Jan 2nd departure. Quote
Riversider28 Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) The Big Bash kicked off in Oz, Tasmania actually, today. Hobart Hurricanes beat the Sydney Sixers by 16 runs. A number of changes to the format of the game including a bonus point to the side with most runs after 10 overs, use of a substitute and 4 powerplay overs at the start of the innings instead of 6 with the other 2 used after 10 overs. Might seem a bit complicated, but isn’t. My money, as usual, is on the Melbourne Stars. Well worth a watch, most games starting at 8-15am on BT Sports, our time. AllRoverAsia Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 (edited) I'm watching Aus v India Carnage with India 6-19 and Kohli gone .......... not long later ........ India 9-36 and Shami retired hurt, so all out in their 2nd innings. Aus to bat in their 2nd chasing 90 to win. An interesting session incoming. Edited December 19, 2020 by AllRoverAsia Quote

Not one ball wasted, no extras, not one Indian batsman reaching double figures. Hazelwood and Cummings, words can't describe how well they bowled. Quote

I had India winning this test based on their first innings effort. If anyone can get a vid of the India 2nd innings do it, it's well worth while, and it's not long, only 21.5 or so overs. Two makeshift openers for the Aussies showing what could have been. Quote
only2garners Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 India's 36 beats the Australian 47 I saw in Cape Town in 2011. I went to the second day of the test when there was some part of all 4 innings in a day. 2 Quote
Gav Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 I noticed earlier today that Jacques Kallis has joined the England coaching staff as batting consultant. I think it’s for the Sri Lanka tour only at this stage but what a player he was, let’s hope some of the magic rubs off. 1 Quote
Rogerb Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 BBC sport reporting England being allowed to fly to Sri Lanka. It's ten days away so a lot can change in that time with players all over the country 1 Quote
Rogerb Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 England's return from South Africa must be close to being within the last 14 days requiring quarantine as per Hancock this evening? 1 Quote
Rogerb Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Sadness on the passing of John Edrich England opening batsman at 83. Quote

Yes, he was a great batsman of the mid 60-70’s. He scored a massive 310 not out against the Kiwis In 1965, hitting 52 4’s, the highest number in any Test innings. R.I.P. John. Quote
jim mk2 Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Top class player John Edrich and a real tough nut. Him, boycott, Barrington, never gave their wicket away. RIP 1 Quote
den Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 John Edrich and Ken Barrington, two very good England openers. Saw them both open for England with Ted Dexter coming in at number three. Quote
Hoochie Bloochie Mama Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Robin Jackman has passed away too at 75. Where does time go...? Quote
Roving Mick Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 He was used as a pawn by Forbes Burnham's Guyana government, under the name of apartheid, to distract attention away from his own dodgy elections practices. The Windies selectors were just as bad. It took them over ten years before they picked an Indo Caribbean to play for them. Even Viv Richards didn't cover himself in glory here. Maybe that's why he had a love child with a Bollywood actress, to distract attention from his own racist statements. Quote
Riversider28 Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 (edited) Just watching the Big Bash- Perth v Adelaide. Commentator talking to Barrow born Liam Livingstone who asks him which footy team he supports, Blackburn Rovers he replies. He said after a couple of dodgy seasons we are now on our way back. I think he may have been out in the sun too long. Edited December 28, 2020 by Riversider28 2 Quote
