Mattyblue Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 I would think Jimmy will get a few Tests in the summer for his swan song… OT better be one as I’ll be there! Quote

Interesting article Gav. A new start, a new era, a different way of thinking. It’s the kind of approach needed for sure. Like the article says this tour has a nothingness about it. It’s neither a backwards move in selection, nor a forward move. It does feel like English cricket is in limbo, waiting for the saviour to arrive. however, to get success you must have some of the best players in the world. They’re not there, are they? 2 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 After watching the Aus v Sri Lanka T20 today maybe it's time for DRS on dodgy umpire calls for not giving a wide. It was plainly a wide and all the Aus commentators said so too. A correct call may well have won the match for Sri Lanka who went on to lose in the lottery Super Over. 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 What do people think of Collingwood being interim head coach for test series in West Indies? Strauss's biggest decision is to appoint permanent director of cricket? Not much leaking out about his search but I wouldn't be surprise if we appoint Alec Stewart or Paul Farbrace in that role. Then we have 3 positions(Chief selector role, test head coach and ODI/twenty20 head coach) to fill and sort Root's test captaincy future. Quote
matt83 Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Jadeja’s not had a bad test - 175* and match figures of 9/87. Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 (edited) Anyone get a perfect view of Lee's DRS dismissal? The ball looked rather adjacent to the bat. My PC monitor pixels are on the way out. Ooops Crawley gone to. On to ''Reset'' Mk2 I suppose ........ Edited March 8, 2022 by AllRoverAsia Quote
Gav Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I need to up my game, why the hell are we starting a test match on a Tuesday? Totally passed me by this....... 39/3 England........ Quote

jim mk2 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 48-4 No matter who England play, home or away, weak teams or strong teams, the batting fails 9 times out of 10 Quote
Gav Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Excellent recovery by Bairstow, superb 100 under the circumstances supported by Foakes. Woakes could be a match winner for England in this pitch, get a few more to give him something to ball at. Quote
Gav Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Joe Root has acquired a head band….. What would Brian Close and Fred Truman have thought……. Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Some more old Jam fans at the cricket ✊🏻🍻 Quote

Umpiring and awful over rate, along with lack of any English bowlers are main talking points at the ground. 2 Quote
Rogerb Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Day 4 and all set up for the familiar batting collapse. We need to bat all day once we have the last windies wicket. Quote

Gav Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 England batting well, 108-1 and now leading by 44. 1 Quote
Gav Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 211-1 England with a lead of 147. Putting ourselves into a good position if the weather stays away. Quote
Mattyblue Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Take some doing on this pitch. Terrible surface for Test Cricket… as was the one at Pakistan/Australia last week. 2 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 England drew the 1st test. only seen brief highlights but the wicket look abit flat. Did watch some of the Pakistan vs Australia test match this morning and Khawaja played an excellent inning Quote
