Mattyblue
More flat pitches. You get five full days, so great for the coffers of the WI Cricket Board, terrible for the Test game… Edited March 20, 2022 by Mattyblue

matt83
Another collapse. What was Root saying about momentum!! Momentum is when you win games, not draw on two dead pitches. Soon as it starts moving, we can’t bat
jim mk2
The pitch is a green top but that's another feeble collapse. Flat track bullies of the last Test found out again
jim mk2
Extraordinary effort by Leach and Mahmood to regain some respectability. But the early batting, oh dear, all the technical faults in evidence again with the ball moving about.

den
I don’t get what the hell is going on with English cricket. Dreadful performance followed by dreadful performance yet nothing happening about anything. Englands best two bowlers dropped and sat at home. Jimmy saying that because he’s been dropped he’s now concentrating on and looking forward to the county championship. Its like Australia dropping McGrath and Warne. They would never have done that would they. Its a shambles.
AllRoverAsia
England played the morning session as if the lot of them were nursing major hangovers. And Crawley goes early ...... well I never ..... I think I'll watch England v Swiss Edited March 26, 2022 by AllRoverAsia

chaddyrovers
The search for the next England's director of cricket. Its appears that the candidates are Marcus North, Ed Smith, Rob Key, Tom Moody. Sky Sports pundit Rob Key emerges as a surprise contender for England's managing director role | Daily Mail Online I think Rob Key might just be ideal candidate for the role given his views that England need 2 separate head coaches for test matches and ODI/twenty20 matches, plus he wants to bring back the national selector role. Plus has a clear way how the game should be played and that Root should be replaced as Test Captain which I agree with now. Think we need a new captain like Ben Stokes who would very different captain to Root. Michael Vaughan's comments on Root's captaincy during the current test match https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-10645659/Sky-Sports-pundit-Rob-Key-emerges-surprise-contender-Englands-managing-director-role.html
jim mk2
Justin Langer is the obvious candidate. A hard nut and a winner and unpopular with the players - just the sort we need I wouldn't have anyone English, least of all a media pundit. Root has to go and even if England somehow get out of this latest hole it's been bleedin' obvious for ages. He's been blundering around with poor decisions for years Stokes isn't the answer. He's already a batsman / bowler and captaincy would be too much. It didn't work with Botham and it won't work with him There's no obvious candidates unfortunately - it's a team lacking in talent and leadership

Langer is a head coach and not a director of cricket role which is mainly as Administrator role and getting the county set up right and benefitting the England cricket team whilst picking the next test head coach, odi/twnenty20 head coach and the chief selector role. Rob Key has loads of county cricket experience and knows the current problems with the current system in place. Marcus North is the current Durham director of cricket and seems to have done a good job there. I would be happy with Langer as Test head coach. 1 hour ago, jim mk2 said: Root has to go and even if England somehow get out of this latest hole it's been bleedin' obvious for ages. I think Root time as captain has to ended and I think Stokes is the only candidate to take over I don't see any other candidate out there unless you go completely left field have pick an county captain with no Test match experience like Somerset Captain Tom Abell
matt83
Even with the recent low bar set by this England side this is still some of the worst cricket I’ve ever seen.
