It was their day without a doubt - but it should never have been. England should have dismissed them for a very low score but poor catching - led by Bairstow again- let us down. They've taken 3 catches from 3 chances offered. I keep saying it but you can't make mistakes against this lot because they punish you.

The Bazballers are out, predictably, and Root and Bairstow and Stokes have to play sensibly and not make any silly errors for us to get anywhere near their score.

Fantastic bowling by Wood today. Pace above 90mph and some beautiful wickets there. Board getting Warner out early was good to see

I think we are still in a good position with Root and Bairstow there with Stokes, plus the rest to come. Just need to play smart cricket tomorrow. Crawley look in good touch until he played at one he could have left

you still don't understand what Stokes and McCullum are actually saying to the players do you?

Posted it a few days on here.

Plus the commentators mentioned it during the live coverage today on Sky Sports

Neville Cardus would provide a beautifully written, finely argued, explanation. Hiding behind Sky doesn't count.

Still waiting.

Delighted the Bears are out but Essex almost chucked a way a win they were strolling to.

Exciting game of Bazball.

It didn’t look like going down to the wire at one point Asia, it was a good fight back.

Lancashire tonight 👍

Bairstow cannot keep the gloves for the next test. If they really want to keep him as a specialist batsman then fine.

That drop of Marsh may prove the difference, think they definitely got at least 80 too many. Suspect we'll be looking at another sizable first innings deficit.

I think they definitely got more than we should have allowed them to, but I reckon 250 was still par or just under par. That bowling spell from Wood was sensational and compensated a little bit for Marsh's additional runs. All that said, we do need at least two of our middle order to score big now.

You wonder what Stokes we need to see here.

There's only one player made any decent runs so far - and he went on the attack.

Does Stokes play sensible and try and slowly build a score - or does he go for it like Lords?

If he plays sensibly he will still score quickly with that outfield.

He needs to attack now as Bairstow goes cheaply.
