Hands up I was one of them mate. I think we just have to accept that there are risks involved with being so positive and openers are especially vulnerable. But when it comes off, my goodness!! 2 Quote

Mattyblue Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 (edited) They’ve accepted that Crawley will have a fair few poor innings as around the corner is a match winning one. Playing the percentages and all that, Baz and Stokes are obviously more data driven than they let on! I’m off there shortly… at least I chose Friday, Saturdays forecast! 😩 Edited July 21, 2023 by Mattyblue 3 Quote

Dreams of 1995 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 (edited) Let's hope the rain doesn't save Australia I'd be looking to try and get a lead of 200 and then bowl them out as quickly as possible Edited July 21, 2023 by Dreams of 1995 4 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 This version I like. Over 5 RPO by controlled aggression and not madness. Bat on for 30 minutes, get past 200 and declare. Or bat on aggressively until Bairstow is out but at least past 200. 1 Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Good to let Jimmy have a bat on what may well be his last OT Test appearance. Quote

I can unfortunately see a scenario whereby the weather stops us with the convicts 6 or 7 down in their second innings. Quote

wilsdenrover Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Bairstow stranded on 99. I hope they don’t regret holding back on the declaration. 1 Quote

Bairstow was simply superb and Jimmy played a big part. But maybe we've batted a bit to long with what's incoming. Edited July 21, 2023 by AllRoverAsia 1 Quote
berkshireblue Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Another awesome Eng Batting display today If the weather does not save the convicts, Oval will be a cracker and we would be favourites Quote
wilsdenrover Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 I think we need to see some more Wood soon. 1 Quote
matt83 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Shambles of a cricket ground. Forgetting it’s as ugly as sin the toilet situation is a joke. Quote
jim mk2 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Atherton said it's a hospitality venue with a cricket ground attached and he's not far wrong. Enjoying the day, can we knock another one over before stumps? Quote
wilsdenrover Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 6 wickets to get. Need to hope we get at least 3 hours play over the next two days. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 another excellent day for England. Bairstow shown exactly why Stokes and McCullum backed him time after time. 1 Quote
jim mk2 Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Baitstow is one of the main reasons we’re 2-1 down in this series when we should be ahead. If this Test is washed out and the Ashes gone his contribution today will be forgotten. Bairstow is still on the naughty step Quote

AllRoverAsia Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 (edited) A bizarre interview from a supremely arrogant poor wicketkeeper. His 99 have him the opening for this, a low score he would have kept his gob shut. AllRoverAsia Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 (edited) According to weather.com it's going to piss down all day long. I do hope the Weather Gods change their minds. Somewhat ironically I am currently watching a documentary on animal survival in the Hoanib Valley, Namibia Edited July 22, 2023 by AllRoverAsia Quote
