matt83 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Yarkshite's bloody tail again. Starting to think they don't have a tail and just bat to 11. Unless my maths has gone to @#/? they put on 60 in last 3 overs. Quote

davulsukur Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Left gods country and now sat in shooters in Manchester. Off to the T20 later. Should be decent. Quote
matt83 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Yorkshire put your hands up show me your 6 fingers. Show me your 6 fingers. Hmmm wonder where I've heard that Quote
davulsukur Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Well we got well and truly rinsed but a seriously good laugh, lads from Bolton behind us made it a really good night. I wish football was like that Quote
Gav Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) Great performance tonight, especially with Yorks middle order coming back, Root fantastic and you could say we got a bit lucky with Bairstow, but the result was never in doubt. Sets us up nicely now for defending the T20 title after 2 early loses. Oh Lancy Lancy Edited June 4, 2016 by Gav 1 Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) Lancs getting hammered again in today's T20. Our net run rate must be woeful with the three absolute thumpings we've endured in our first three games. Edit - Lancs at least making a late fist of it but it would be the collapse of all time if Notts don't win! Edited June 4, 2016 by oldjamfan1 Quote
matt83 Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 After getting throughly thrashed got to the point where Notts needed 15 off last over. Then Notts were given 6 extra runs because of Lancs slow over rate. Bit harsh to say there was 8 wickets and 10 6s which take bit of time out of the game. 9 off 6 becomes lot less daunting. 1 Quote

Spot on, the spectators are the last people to be considered when they introduce these crackpot rules, which incidentally only ever seem to be applied in England, and to Lancashire. Robbed! Quote
matt83 Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 To say it's only a group game in domestic t20 I'm quite mad about it. I can take losing (just) but it happened a few years back when bresnan changed his bat three times, where we were punished, Horton went mental and got a ban if memory serves. Hypocritical because if it was applied in the 2014 final vs Warwickshire we would have won that. Had Lancs not taken a wicket in that penultimate over we'd have made time. Or had we bowled the spin over first we'd have made time. When the margins are that tight it's a @#/? rule. Seems like it's a punish Lancs if guilty otherwise ignore it rule. 1 Quote
Husky Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 That was a Blackburn v Spursesque performance if ever there was one. Shocking! Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Went to the game with my dad, and Lancashire's bowling was good, though the Bears do not have a good batting side at all. However, the Bears' strength is bowling. Hannon-Dalby, Gordon (who wasn't playing) and Posenby are very good 1 day bowlers. The rain was annoying as it was just enough to put the covers on, but would ease for a minute.......then come back. Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Thought the Lancs captain was poor again - missed a trick with the D/L target. Buttler should have opened the batting - the weather forecasters were completely accurate. Quote
gumboots Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Yes. Yorkshire managed it by one run. Presumably they had noted the weather forecast 1 Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Gupthill looked like he was about to hit it, then got himself out about 3 balls later. Apart from about 3 or 4 balls, the Bears' bowling was spot on. Lancs should have put the big hitters in 1st since the target was low and the weather was crap. Quote
Husky Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) That T20 game was pretty damned poor. Won the toss, knew the weather forecast and rightfully chose to bat second, yet played in a clueless manner. I heard that 28-0 from 5 overs would have won the game (normally a walk in the park) - yet they never seemed to be playing for the D/L score at any time. You could argue that the bowling was quite good, but still, the way they batted didn't make any sense whatsoever. It's now looking likely we could end up being the worst defending Champions ever. Gav Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 England 26/3 chasing 287, and Morgan just been dropped. We bat deep but this looks bridge to far . Quote
Gav Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Woeful effort so far Gav Poor shot selection at the heart of things, been really poor. Just hoping Butler can keep his head, score 100 and take us home. If only Carlsberg........ Quote
Husky Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 How dodgy was that? Video showed it was a no-ball and yet given out!!!! Quote
wolfie Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Great game, that. Was hoping we could have got Ben Stokes to bowl the last over for them but will settle for that. 2 Quote
Husky Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 What a game! Glad I turned my attention to it with the Euro game in the background. Sri Lanka celebrating a bit too soon 1 Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Woakes is an unbelievable cricketer. Has a team ever had two all rounders as good, and whose names rhyme as well?? Disclaimer - I don't class wicketkeeper/batsmen as all rounders not do I think Moeen Ali (or any of the others) is good enough at either discipline to be classed as an international standard all rounder. Quote
jim mk2 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Fantastic game of cricket - would love to have been there. England looked finished at 98-6 but Woakes and Buttler played brilliantly. Woakes is finally developing into an international cricketer and it will be great to see him play alongside Ben Stokes in all forms of the game over the next few years. But what's happened to Joe Root ? Quote
