dave birch Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Australia have knocked over Kohli for 0 and 13 , IN INDIA. In the home town of the slumdogs. Go Aussies. India 3/53 chasing 441 to win. Mind you, in the following tests it will be normal service resumed. Quote

dave birch Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Done em, inside three days by 333 runs. SOK 6-35 in both innings. Wouldn't have thought this two bit very young Aussie side would have it in them, but they have. Top stuff. Quote
Al Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Perhaps they've found his weakness. Everybody has one. Maybe they will share it with us if we ask them nicely. I'm sure it's in their interests not to have India as the no.1 team in the world. Quote

I'm sure it's in their interests not to have India as the no.1 team in the world. It took a good catch to get him in the firstm and a great piece of deception from SOK in the second. Kohli was obviously not reading SOK at all to leave a ball that went straight on rather than turning. Kohli is a great batsman and will be fuming today over his dismissals and his teams poor performance. I don't think the Indians have quite worked out how to use DRS effectively yet. They made some poor decisions there. Quote
wolfie Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 India 189 all out v Ausralia. Nathan Lyon 8 for 50. Rahul 90, kholi 12 Quote

This made chuckle, Mark Butcher, on Twitter Virat is experiencing something that he can hardly recall - indecision. The rest of us know it as "batting" #INDvsAUS Quote

dave birch Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 188 to win after lunch on the fourth day, heaps of time, but on a crumbling Indian wicket. Wolfie, Kohli really got the sh1ts when he got out. Some doubt, but for a few seconds he refused to go. He'll cop a bit for that. Quote
MCMC1875 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 40 days until the start of the Lancashire League season - 16 April. Quote
wolfie Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Aus. were 100 -4, now 103 - 7, looking there's only one winner here. Quote
PeteJD13 Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Astonishing collapse but that pitch wasn't good enough for test cricket, will be interesting to see how this indian team gets out outside of the sub continent this yeat Quote
dave birch Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Kohli gone cheaply again! Have the Aussies got his measure? Some of the media here are taking the P, saying he's scored less than Mitch Marsh! He's still a great batsman, but he's letting his emotions take over and he's losing the battle. Still a long way to go in this test though 50/50 at the moment. Quote
matt83 Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 So it's the start of the county championship today. Big game for lancs first up. If just looking to stay up or whether we have more lofty ambitions we need to be beating the likes of Essex. They've lost Napier and masters who took over 100 wickets between them last year. Plus a few others like mickleburgh. No cook. They should be there for the taking... Quote
wolfie Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Lancs all out for 319. We were 268 for 9 at one point. Quote
matt83 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Essex out for 159 shared the wickets around which is nice not to rely on on performer. 160 behind so would like see follow on but these days it seems fashionable not to enforce it. Quote
wolfie Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Lancs. recovering well (down at Surrey) after a poor start yesterday. We were 122 / 6 at one point yesterday, now 319 / 6. Clarke on 117, Chanderpaul just got a century too. 2 Quote
matt83 Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Great fight back. For Clark to come in the position Lancs found themselves in and to hit the ball out of the ground for his maiden century is impressive. Assuming this is a draw it'll be no wins in 13 matches after this one (LDDDLDDLDDLDD). So if we don't beat Somerset next week we will have to beat Yorkshire next month to avoid a 12 month winless streak in the county championship. Quote
matt83 Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Made Surrey follow on. Wouldn't have put money on that at 67/5. Will probably be a draw. But if nothing else it's a shot across surrey's bow. They think they're the best side in league and on paper they possibly are once international have gone from likes of Yarkshite. Quote

matt83 Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 This is a little bit crap from Lancs. Another terrible start. Nothing like batting for a best case scenario draw before lunch on day one. AGAIN. Quote
matt83 Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Seems to suggest we've prepared a green wicket, presumably for jimmy. Only Lancashire could prepare a green wicket for jimmy knowing full well the oppo reserve the right to bowl first. Result 42/6. Plus no shiv Quote
matt83 Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 If Lancs win this will be would be some comeback. Quote
onlyonetugay Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 You're right Matt , on the first morning things looked pretty grim. All credit to Alex Davies ( Rovers fan !) and Liam Livingstone for getting us in this position. Quote
