matt83 Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Heroics by Stokes at headingley in arguably the finest individual innings really papered over the cracks of a piss poor side. 1 Quote
Husky Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 I think this is the first time England look like they are being truly humiliated. The Archer thing is a bit weird, they were making excuses for him saying 'it was cold', but Mahmood of Lancs got up to 90mph last night in the Arctic Circle, sooooo . . . . . . Quote
Proudtobeblue&white Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 One down, the captain is due an innings (he's hit the third highest test score at OT previously) , Overton to hit a 90, don't worry everyone! Quote

Far more optimistic than me. I see a sub 200 score followed by 130 and an innings defeat ! Quote

I'm usually a pint glass full preferably (until empty), the Manchester weather is still an issue, and the pitch can't be that bad if Paine can get a half century. Straws.....clutching! Quote

den Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Well I’m off in 15 mins, flask, fleece waterproof. Uncovered top tier exposed to the British weather. looking forwards to watching Smith bat. 1 Quote

You might not see Smith today but you’ll probably see every English batsman twice. Quote

Husky Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Bad news: the rain stopped far too early. Quote
jim mk2 Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Jason Roy has an an IQ lower than his batting average in this series. Quote

chaddyrovers Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Burns and Root batting perfectly unless they got good deliveries by Hazelwood. Roy isn't good enough for test cricket. Quote

den Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 You guys watching it on tv will have had a better view than me in many ways, but one thing you don’t get a feel for on TV is pace. The Aussie fast bowling attack are quite fearsome when you see them live. They always had that aggression that England can’t match. That’s the big difference between the sides for me (apart from Smith of course). I though we had a match for them in Archer, but I’m coming to the conclusion that he simply can’t sustain his pace even in short four or five over spells. Whether he can attain that level of energy or stamina I’m not sure, but I really hope so. Quote
matt83 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 What the actual fuck is that shot. Why is he trying to drive the ball on middle stump? Get in behind it you Yorkshire pillock. Crass stupidity. Quote
matt83 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 How many times does he get bowled driving!!! He needs fucking dropping and Foakes can keep. Roy is also bloody useless at this format. Quote
Husky Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Is anyone feeling confident about those £25 fifth day tickets? ? Quote
matt83 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 How has archer got a first class average of 30. Speaks volumes about the quality of the county championship. Quote

Also it's funny to see Buttler playing for his average. Giving the strike to the tailenders and hoping they get out first. Edited September 7, 2019 by Husky Quote
matt83 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 I’d definitely drop two of buttler, bairstow and Roy. In a perfect world all 3. Foakes in for bairstow. Vince literally anyone really in for Roy. And at this point in time Curran better than buttler as a batsman. Warner ?. Three ducks in a row. Quote
matt83 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 We could still bowl Australia out for 0 and lose. Quote
Husky Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Here we go again, England in the sauce with Smith and Lasagne. ? Quote
