Good day so far for Lancs - the other games are going okay for us too really, though I would feel better if Warwickshire lost 2 or 3 quick wickets.

115/8 lunch. Trail by 28.

It’s not quite over yet, but I suspect the decision to bowl first and bat last could cost Lancs the game.

Very finely balanced game with Lancs just about on top as it stands - though I wouldn't like to have to chase anything much over 100 tbh.

All eyes are also on Somerset batting against Warwickshire now - they have been hopeless with the bat since the 4 day games resumed, lets hope they show a bit more grit today (and hopefully tomorrow too!)

The good news is that the 3 points Lancs got for bowling out Hampshire have proved just enough to stay ahead of Notts by 0.5points. So if Lancs beat Hampshire (and who knows right now) and Somerset can continue to bat well and deny Warwickshire a win then Lancs will be champions - plenty of ifs there though. A win against Hants on its own will get Lance into the Bob Willis Trophy game even if Warwickshire win.

I haven’t seen a lot of lancs game today, but the current lead of 160 could well be enough. This wicket is so difficult to score on. 160 is a long way off.

So Lancs need a shade under 200 to win. A tall order but doable. No silly risks please. Warwickshire on top against Somerset but not nailed on to win yet. Very exciting end to the county championship over the next day/day and a half.

The tv camera is too low, meaning we can’t see the wicket. Any chance someone could ask the Umpire to either kneel down or move to one side so we can see?

Lancs just about get over the line with a 1 wicket win, mainly due to a good knock by Vilas and good support from Davies and Wells. Come on Somerset, let’s have a good 2nd innings from you as Warks are going along well at 126-1.

Nerves were jangled. 7 to win with 3 wickets. When Vilas hit a 4 I thought job done. 3 to win 3 wickets left and a kamikaze run out. 2 to win with 2 wickets left. Edged. 2 to win 1 wicket left Parky surviving 2 balls. Vilas 4. Easy.

Let’s hope Somerset do the business.

Warks just declared 272 runs ahead. Somerset need to bat as well as they did in their 1st innings. Come on you scrumpy slurpers.

I thought they would have declared earlier. Warwick’s best chance of a win surely would have been to set Somerset a winnable target. I can’t imagine them going for that.

102-7 at tea so looks all over.

As an LCC member I got an email inviting me to watch the end of the game at The Point this afternoon from 3pm. I guess there will be plenty of space in there now. Still Lancs still have the Bob Willis Trophy next week to go for.
