wilsdenrover Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Stokes selected at Brook’s expense - I think that’s a crazy decision. 2 Quote
Ewood Ace Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Stokes retiring and then coming back just to play in a World Cup sets a bad precedent. 1 Quote

He could be fit for World Cup, fingers crossed! It appears that it was rumours of his recovery that had been exaggerated. Just a travelling reserve. Quote

Brooks should be in the squad and I don't care at whose expense. Roy and Livingstone... FFFFFF Gus Atkinson, ok he plays for Surrey that explains everything. Maybe this is part of it? It's mainly to give them control over an out ground when Old Trafford isn't available (usually due to a concert rather than a Test!). There isn't currently one in central Lancashire - they go to Southport, Liverpool, Blackpool and (snigger) Cumbria... but I think they've already fallen out with Liverpool? Quote

den Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 10 wicket win at Surrey with 27 overs to spare. Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Another no-show when it matters from Lancashire. They've already started the clear-out with Lamb, Jones, Vilas and Parkinson all leaving. Time for Chilton and Chapple to follow suit - it's simply not good enough. Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 (edited) Embarrassing bottle job, barring a miracle. They simply don't want it enough. Edit: I soon saw enough of this crap and watched a movie. I assume we bowled underarm lobs and fecked off early to the pub. Wankers. Edited August 25, 2023 by AllRoverAsia Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Perhaps rightly the Hundred gets little traction on here. I stopped watching today's final after Butler threw his wicket away knowing, absolutely sure, what would follow. It did. I kind of wonder what the odds were during game at that point. Quote

Gav Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 (edited) I have spent the weekend trying to sell the idea of a trip to Dharamsala for the final test in India next March, is there a better venue in world cricket At the foot of the Himalayas? Edited August 29, 2023 by Gav 7 Quote
Ianrally Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Took this last night at the T20 v NZ. I thought it was a nice touch by LCC to remember a great player, he might have been an Aussie but I think most fans here still loved him. 4 Quote
Gav Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Didn't care for him much during his career, arrogant Aussie beach bum, but once he'd retired that was a different matter. Great cricketer, great man and sadly missed. 2 Quote
Ianrally Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 You’re quite right Gav, that’s a perfect summary. 1 Quote
matt83 Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Captain fantastic was a no show again. It’s to be hoped he’s doing wonders when pimps himself out to crisp packet franchises. Can’t recall anything equating to a motm performance for Lancashire or England. I think he’s living on past glories at this point. He’s the most overrated player ever, purely based on a purple patch of about 2 months getting on to 4 years ago. To think he’s got a place in the World Cup squad and brook hasn’t. Chipping balls up to fielders and iffy spin 2 Quote
Mattyblue Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 What’s wrong with being a beach bum? Played hard on and off the pitch, good for him. 2 Quote

(Aside from the foo fighters needs). We’re in £30 million debt. The most debt of any cricket club even more than the maligned slime lickers. Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 TTFFT, Livingstone was sending me to sleep. First shot in anger for ages, misses by a foot and clearly out lbw and appeals just for the sake of it. Quote
martonrover Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Glen Chapple quits as Lancs Head Coach. Time for an ambitious, outside appointment to shake things up. Alas, more likely to be one of Vilas, Croft or Onions, ie a continuation of jobs for the boys. Quote

He’s been involved at Lancs throughout my entire memory of cricket. Legend as a player fairly ordinary as a coach. Few good young uns coming through so defo needs fresh idea’s especially with all the dressing room is toxic rumours. I’d love Lancs to go and get someone with experience elsewhere like Langer or even Stuart law if they are hell bent on a Lancs connection. Like you say no doubt it’ll be an easy internal appointment When the director of cricket says we’ve had “a sustained period of success over the last seven years.” That is very very very worrying indeed and not obvious what success he’s even referring to. Joint 2nd least successful county since the turn of the century. 2 Quote
