Think we have looked comfortable enough though. Not sure this is a vintage Sri Lanka side, but you can only beat what’s in front of you….

England have been way too casual in this match. More chucking of silly wickets away just at the wrong time.

They won’t get away with this against the top test sides.

Poor, unprofessional performance against a weak Sri Lanka team.

The summer isn't complete without an England batting collapse and it has cost us again.  The bowlers weren't much better either.

Pope should not be captain because he's not good enough to be a fixture in the team. The odd big score aside, his technical problems and fragile temperament are reflected in too many low scores. 

Embarrassing all round.

Reading the player’s interviews afterwards it’s clear they won’t learn from their mistakes.

No, it is important you adapt to the situations you find yourself and adjust tactics etc accordingly.

Root knows that’s BS as he is a top class and highly experienced batsman that has played the situation many, many times.

Good effort by Lancs in the second innings against Somerset. It could stop Somerset winning the title but will it be enough to prevent Lancs going down?

More from Harry Brook on England's dismissals: "We are out there to score runs. If you get caught somewhere on the boundary or in the field then who cares? On another day that could go for six so I'm not too fussed about that. 

"Obviously it was grabbing in the pitch but another day we hit them for six. They hit a few in the air and they landed safely so a little bit unlucky. We want to entertain like I have said a few times. Obviously we care but if you get out trying to score runs that's the way we want to play."

 

If it’s obvious it sticking in the pitch how about changing how you’re batting to take that into account?

You might want to entertain but winning must always be the main objective.

This team’s attitude is starting to seriously piss me off.

When Benkenstien took over at the start of the season Gloucester fans were all over social media saying he was a terrible coach and they were glad he was gone from their county and they were right,he is a terrible coach.Lancs need to admit he was a bad appointment and get rid or it will be more than  just one season in div 2
