G Somerset Rover Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Can't defend, can't score, host of injuries. Just not happening is it? We're royally fooked. Bowyer won't last past September at this rate. And then we'll probably employ our fiftieth chump in a row who hasn't deserved the job and find ourselves in league one. Happy days.

Backroom DE. Posted August 16, 2013 Backroom Posted August 16, 2013 Extracts from report on club site. Rovers' first visit to the Keepmoat Stadium ended in a disappointing 2-0 defeat. An entertaining match in which both teams had a host chances was settled by the side who took theirs - Doncaster Rovers. The second half saw Gary Bowyer's side lay siege to the Doncaster goal but the home side withstood the pressure and scored an unlikely second when Husband's cross from the left flew high into the net. We really do have problems - did GB write that ? Wow. Blue and White specs with the thickest lenses imaginable. I can only assume the person who wrote that fell asleep watching the game and dreamed a completely different match - which we still lost.
Mercer Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Bye, bye Jordan: Mick Isherwood @rovertish87 22m Rhodes looked furious at full time, King was @#/? poor, nothing in midfield once Dunn went off, no service for strikers #brfc #rovers
roverandout Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 bowyer will be doing his after match team talk with the players now 'ok lads, I haven't been completely honest with you, I have had some help in the background with tactics and pre-match teamtalks, you can come in now' (in walks steve kean) 'by the way steve, have you done my after-match press conference speech'?
Pelio Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I only hope the mighty Yeovil give Burnley a good stuffin tomorrow....
Jock Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Blackpool comfortably beat Doncaster. I don't rate Blackpool. Doncaster easily beat us. The commentators on radio rovers said we were unlucky to be undone by a freak goal and a set piece. I don't subscribe to that view. Woeful defending set pieces all game, Donny sounded like they missed a couple of sitters, and it was another gk error for their second. There really is no comfort. Exactly, crap teams are unlucky.
roverstdt Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I really really have the impression that some Rovers fans live in fantasy world. Where have you been for the last 3 years? To all who wish to see Gary Bowyer sacked, let me ask you this did you learn nothing from last season? 5 managers in 1 god dam year I mean seriously. The guy has had 4 matches, and is expected to work miracles on a club that has been severely damaged, but a squad who has lacked guidance for god knows how many seasons, with no finances...It is as if you turn up to your office with half a pencil, one piece of paper, and do your job for the year in a company that has now head. Wake up, seriously, now more than ever is the time where we need to be united and back the manager. It is as if you learnt nothing, stability breads success, you want to sack Bowyer and bring who in? I mean realistically what manager in their right mind would take the job if we sacked Bowyer after 4 games...You criticize Venky's for being unable to run a club, I thank god it isn't a single one of you as the amount of managers we would go through in one year would be ridiculous.

Radio rovers is @#/?, the most bias opinions I've ever heard have come from there.
roverandout Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 whats happened to mercerman? nowadays every post seems to purposely antagonise people
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Honeymoon period over for GB... Poor team selection and tactics... 3 losses out of 4.... Kean... Poor Kicking but good overall Kane .... Not for me ... Full of mistakes and too small & lightweight...... Dann..... Head is elsewhere ...hope he finds himself there in the next 2 weeks Lowe .... Managers Pet and will be his downfall ..GB has seen him for over 10 years now and he still sees something in him nobody else does.. Best ...gives too many free kicks away and thinks he's better then he actually is..... One last thing on GB why take off a attacking Midfeilder Crainy/Dunn off when Evens for Lowe was the more sensible move.... IMO Crainey was taken off to avoid him being sent off - he had already been booked and then just put in a tackle that could easily have gained another yellow - nothing to do with so called favouritism for Lowe.
G Somerset Rover Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Fook me, is Agnew still here?Would it surprise anyone if he were still pulling the strings with he who can't be named? AnywayMost worrying aspect out of the season so far for me is Rhodes. He single handedly kept us up last year. If Rhodes doesn't score then neither do we. This year we look like we'd need Shearer in his pomp to even stand half a chance.
Mercer Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Just cock off you stupid f***ing troll. There tonight were you??? Mug. Clearly, my attempt at a little bit of humour on this disappointing night is completely lost on you !
West Yorks Rover Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Must say GB really does seem to have a problem when it comes to decisions on subs. Brought real pressure on himself at Carlisle by not using them early enough, would have won and not needed ET. Used only one sub against Forest. What is the point in playing King as a wide man, he can't cross a ball.
roverandout Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 like that chap on radio lancs said (alan smart) even shearer and Sutton would have struggled tonight
Pelio Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Dyche for Rovers anyone ? Couldn't do any worse... Bowyer needs a result from next 2 games I think, or things could turn very bad so early in the season.

Woeful defending set pieces all game, Donny sounded like they missed a couple of sitters, and it was another gk error for their second. There really is no comfort. Radio Lancs agreed it was a freak goal more than a goal keeping error. Donny did miss chances - but the more clear cut ones were after they were two up and we were chasing the game. At the end of the day goals change games - Jordan had a chance to score and by all accounts we should have had a penalty to equalise (they got their fluke goal afterwards) - btw not saying everything is rosey.

rovers11 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Roverstdt, I completely agree. Sacking bowyer will solve nothing. Look at how many players we've got. That is because we've had god knows how many managers. What happens if we sack bowyer, get a new manager in they decide they don't like blthe players bowyer has bought in. The new manager will bring in his own players, we'll have to pay off more players and the cycle continues. GB didn't start great when he started his second stint in charge last season. He turned it around tho. Confident he'll do the same again given time. we need stability before the club can move forwards.
roverandout Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 and they should have had a goal that was disallowed due to their striker touching the ball when he didn't need to, swings and roundabouts
Andy Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Jesus, this place is the message board equivalent of bipolar syndrome. One win and we're going up, couple of defeats and the world is collapsing. Let's just see how the season pans out before we start getting carried away, one way or another. Poor start, but we are three games in.
