[Archived] Chorley vs Ashton - Rovers ST Offer

Recommended Posts

A quick glance at the Rovers' fixture list shows no game on Tuesday, 20th August which means that Rovers fans will be able to head for Chorley's Victory Park for their first home game of the season! And what a cracker it promises to be as the Magpies host Ashton United, kick-off time is 7:45pm

Non-league football at its very best, with all the excitement of standing on the terraces and walking around the ground once more!Social club open from 6:30pm with Sky Sports live!

Even better for Rovers season ticket holders who will be admitted for only £5.00 on production of a current season ticket at the turnstile. Normal adult admission price is £9.00, concessions £5.00 and children £3.00.

Find the friendship and fun of non-league football and just enjoy the game, whatever the result!

I should have known reading the title that it wouldn't actually be 'great' news for Rovers. You know, starting topics like this with the current feeling around here is probably more likely to get people's backs up than get people to Chorley. Anyway...sorry for beig miserable but you know.

Err....I've seen Chorley a few times and believe me it's not non-league football at its best.....I'd say more like Sunday league standard to be honest...£9 is a keaning liberty for that garbage.

You also believe that Scott Dann is God's gift to defenders

I personally couldn't give a @#/? about Chorley to be honest, sorry, so your original topic headline was definitely an anti-climax as I imagine it was for the majority on here...

Although it is good to support local 'grass roots' lower league clubs when Rovers aren't playing so if anyone is local to Chorley go for it, I try to watch Darwen whenever I can.

I know it's purely a matter of preference, but if I still lived in the Blackburn area I would much prefer to support Accy Stanley when Rovers were not available. Which is exactly what I used to do until the sad time they went bust in 1961/2.

Now they are back and doing OK, but they get pathetic gates, so still need more support or it will all happen again.

Accy will probably be playing non league anyway next year.....Old Beattie isn't pulling up trees down there.

I always thought chorley was a Notlob stronghold....maybe Charlie can sod off to their board with his over exuberant thread titles.....

Theres a lot of Rovers support in the Chorley area, you see lots of kids with rovers shirts on

You thought wrong (again), Chorley has always been a Rovers stronghold.

As a teenager I can remember as many as five coaches going from the town, compared to two to North End, one to Blackpool and the odd one to Man Utd. I can't ever remember a single coach going to Bolton.
