Hang on, everything came down the left first half, they didn't go in that direction once, he got frustrated came inside did a fantastic cross then hit the post after a fantastic save, god help me some people

Wasn't it his pass through to Rhodes for the second? Could be wrong with all the orange boots on show. That and hitting the post isn't bad considering he's been with the team for less than two full days

First time at Ewood this season, and very happy. First 10 we really took it to them, took the best they had to offer and then two killer blows, beautiful finishing from Dunny & Rhodes. Rank bad defending for the goal. Second half comfortable following Evans stunning strike. Stand outs, for me Cairney bossed the midfield first half, Dunny was lively. King was motm for me, we looked dangerous every time he got the ball. Todd Kane played way above his tender years, and his tenacity for the fourth was excellent.

Well taken goals. Marshall was quiet, Lowe business like, but no real downers.

Good heart to take into the DIngledome, but they had a cracking win too.....match preview booked in for tomorrow!

Special mention: Jason Lowe is carving out a little role as the bridge between midfield and defence. He makes a lot of sideways and backward simple passes (hence his stats) but he does help is keep possession.

Someone on here mentioned that Lowe is a lot like a referee - if you didn't notice him, he had a good game. Seems that was the case today.

So pleased for Gary Bowyer and hopefully this will give him some breathing space now.

I will say it again, there will be some inconsistent performances from his team but we must support him as we are going in the right direction.

One of the youngest (if not the youngest) teams in the Championship, need nurturing.

I would think (and hope) for most people including myself it's all light-hearted banter with Mercer. If anyone considers it more than that you're taking this forum way too seriously.

Yep i like bashing him and bringing up the stuff he's got wrong but he's got the right to post whatever he feels like and the board would be a worse place if everyone just agreed all the time.

He's hilarious when he tries to shoot though he made a fantastic run and would have had an easy chance had Rhodes pass been slightly better

Bolton fans booing their central defender was idiotic, way to put more pressure on the defence, enjoyed the Cheerio chants as they decided they had had enough

anyone at the game how did their midfield including spearing compare against ours? And how did evans look?

Cairney was OK ish, but Evans certainly stood out for me.

Getting stuck in, closing down quickly putting, them under pressure. For me he made that key telling difference that took the game away from Bolton. When at two one they were threatening to get an equaliser.

Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at Ewood.

Again, refreshing to see 11 players giving it their all.

Sublime finishing 4, Bolton can't finish 1.

Goals change and win matches and if Beckford had put Bolton ahead in the 1st half, when he should have, then who knows.

Main points for me:

  • Kean making too many errors
  • Defence opened up too often and too easily - teams that have better strikers will punish us
  • Marshall - hope it's a case that the lad is simply not fit as he struggled with his movement and mobility
  • Cairney is a good footballer but needs to get involved more and to try to stamp his authority more on the game
  • King - wow, the lad looks a different player
  • Sublime finishes from Dunn & Rhodes and a cracker from Evans
  • Glad we didn't sign Spearing
  • My estimate of attendance, 13 to 14 thousand, nearly 16,000 'officially', hmmm
  • Last player off pitch was Rhodes who made a point of shaking hands with Freedman, hmmm again - would make a huge difference to Bolton's team

Finally, next 48 hours are going to be key for Freedman and if anyone has a spare tenner in their pockets, I would get it on him to be the next Championship manager to leave. I think it is a sh1t or bust window for him.

Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho.... Freedmen from "gem" to the sack in 24 hours - unless of course Mercer you are suggesting he will leave because he gets a better offer after five games, no wins and a 4-1 tubbing......???

Just when we thought this result might shut you up, and we can enjoy the evening for once.

Go and open a bottle of red and enjoy yourself, will you. Plenty of time for you to depress us tomorrow.

Stuart: Did we even get an head on one of Spurr's throws? to me they seem a waste as we have nobody to get amongst the defenders to win the ball (ie a new samba), from the Barnsley and today's game seems our strengths are on the ground running at defenders , so surely short throws are a better option?

I was skim reading the posts and got to this one. Without knowing who the poster was, I guessed it perfectly.

Hmmm again indeed.

I was very impressed with Evans, a real little terrier in midfield, Id love to see Cairney signed up permanent before his value goes sky high-very classy player on the ball(and hassles the oppo a lot as well), King is just on fire,

Dann and Lowe where good for the most part but still our 2 biggest liabilities when defending, both are just so shaky,

Is there somewhere we can hide Rhodes and cut of all communication to him until the transfer window slams shut(seriously though I cant see anybody being prepared to cough up 10mill+upfront+add-ons to sign him)

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to deduce that Freedman is under pressure to be fair.

Quite rightly too, 2 points in 5 games is going to have people concerned

I saw an interview with him at the start of the season that was very Keanesque talking about him ditching his tracksuit for a suit
