den Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I like Cairney from what I've seen so far. Tidy in his play, does the simple things well and provides the link between midfield, defence and forwards. Does the job that Jones from Wigan did for us. Not a match winner and I'm not convinced he could do a job in a league higher than this one and I do suspect that he's more of a player who plays well when the opposition are physically weak and not too imposing, but quietly impressed so far. There you see - positivity.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 It will be interesting to see who starts in centre midfield in the coming games now that evans is in contention and looking very impressive. Lowe is obviously the least talented of himself, dunn, cairney and evans, , but he is finally in form so it would harsh to drop him now, some tough managerial decisions coming up for GB. At the moment - from the last two games - you couldn't change the midfield two of Lowe and Cairney. But it is a long season and having Evans and Williamson in reserve shows a drastic change in the depth of cover we now have in centre midfield.
AJW Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 t'witter is what my Mrs does while i'm watching telly

yoda's brother Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 You can't beat a good bit of clean humour. cameron was right about twitter, too many twits and too many tw@s. thought i would spice it up for you stuart
Anders Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Isnt he out of contract at the end of the season? http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/tom-cairney/transfers/spieler_123275.html
Baz Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Not sure how anyone can really judge Evans yet from a brief cameo, but Cairney looks like he can play football, knock it around etc. Early days yet, this league is about standing up for yourself and winning a physical battle away at a place like Barnsley on a cold winters tuesday night mudbath.
tonyoz Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I like him, he adds a touch of quality to our passing in midfield. However, he sometimes allows potentially dangerous situations to develop because of a tendency to jockey instead of putting in a proper challenge.
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 Feel this guy could be the player we've been missing for years Hope we can sneak him in permanently he seems to be enjoying it here at least
J*B Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 He wanted/pushed for a permanent move in the Summer. Worryingly, Hull said that they wanted to monitor him for 6 months and a sale wasn't an option. He'd still like to sign for us, and can in summer. Let's just hope Hull stay up and decide he isn't good enough for them.

pick32 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Don't no if it's been mentioned anywhere else but we have had a bid rejected today and Bruxe has said negotiations will be ongoing
T.J.Newton Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Good news that Evans is back training though, si we won't be left to light if fairney go's
Majiball Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Don't no if it's been mentioned anywhere else but we have had a bid rejected today and Bruxe has said negotiations will be ongoing Don't suppose you know how much we bid for him?
rog of the rovers Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Hope we can keep him. I'd say £1m plus incentive bonuses (e.g. £0.25m if we get promoted, sell on fee etc) is a fair deal for all concerned.
Al Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Good news that Evans is back training though, si we won't be left to light if fairney go'sYou on the pop already?
Stuart Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Good news that both sides are up for negotiations. This is when paying £8m for a striker work against you though.
tugayislegend Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 His on a free in summer, so we will not have offered more than 250-500k
Backroom Tom Posted December 20, 2013 Backroom Posted December 20, 2013 Only 6 months on his contract though they surely won't expect much
