Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted September 1, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted September 1, 2013 Darn right. IMO it would help Jake Kean no end, as he's been dropping too many @#/? (proverbially) atm for my liking!
yoda Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 Get on the hotline Glen9, make it happen
Guest Norbert Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Assuming Friedel has not suddenly gone crap with age, and Robinson is still ill, then why not? A calm, measured and sensible figure is always good to have.
G Somerset Rover Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 People forget that Friedel was good mates with Berg. He was disgusted at the way he was treated by Venkys so I can't see any chance of this happening even if we were keen.

Majiball Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 football has a short memory, and a fat wallet And I'm sure his wallet will be fatter staying at spuds. Don't forget he was broke a couple of years back, he needs the wonga. We could never match his salary and they won't let him leave for cheap with the man who can draw blood out of stones negotiating for them. Forget replacing Kean, it would be a mistake. Get Robbo fit. If you bring in another to replace Kean he's effectively 3rd choice and what a kick in balls that would be. Sort out the people in front of him so we don't create so many openings for the opposition and he'll look better.
tomphil Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Whilst bringing Friedel back would be good for the fans and good publicity for Venkys and ive no doubt he's still good enough im not sure it's good move. It goes against what they're trying to do in building a new young team and Kean is a big part of that team spirit wise as well as player wise. It may send out the wrong message to the players. Let's not forget Friedel was happy to jump ship for the wonga. First mistake and everyone would be saying too old, waste of money. Stick with kean for now and get Robbo fit to keep Kean on his toes.

Brad ran a FREE football academy in the USA to help kids over there and ran into bad times. I add that in as we both made him sound like a mercenary ala Samba and his monthly pay-rise demands... At least Brad was trying to give something back with his cash.

I didn't know it was free so fair play to the guy. Typical of the bloke i suppose and i hope he got it sorted. Still don't want him back i'd prefer to remember him as he was and not spoil it. Mind you knowing Brad he'd probably come back and be a hero again.

Despite various denials,I couldn't help thinking it had something to do with the appointment of Ince?
Amo Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Despite various denials,I couldn't help thinking it had something to do with the appointment of Ince? I think Ince's reaction in his initial press conference when asked about Brad was telling.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 People forget that Friedel was good mates with Berg. He was disgusted at the way he was treated by Venkys so I can't see any chance of this happening even if we were keen. The barmy world of football. Berg must have statistically been the worst manager in the club's history, and yet he left with a £2.5m pay-off for doing a few months work. I really wish Venkys would do that to me!
thenodrog Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 And I'm sure his wallet will be fatter staying at spuds. Don't forget he was broke a couple of years back, he needs the wonga. We could never match his salary and they won't let him leave for cheap with the man who can draw blood out of stones negotiating for them. The suggestion was a loan deal Maj... not a transfer. Most Prem loans to lower div teams only require a %age of the salary to be paid. Is Brad Spurs No 2 or have they someone else in front of him?

Jimmy612 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Has everyone forgotten about Given? I know Liverpool were linked to him but I get the impression he isn't prepared to be a sub from what he was saying on Talksport the other week - literally said he was prepared to go anywhere Would be a great signing if we could get him for a couple of seasons.
JAL Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 The best signing the Roas could make and it wont be cheap would be to bring Phil Jones back.
Amo Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 The best signing the Roas could make and it wont be cheap would be to bring Phil Jones back. Why not go the whole hog and hijack the Bale deal, too?
Jimmy612 Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 The best signing the Roas could make and it wont be cheap would be to bring Phil Jones back. You can't be serious Jal? Like United would let him go
Hekla Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Surely Tom Carroll will be available on loan now Spurs have signed 67 midfielders.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 The best signing the Roas could make and it wont be cheap would be to bring Phil Jones back. That before or after Champions League qualification?
RevidgeBlue Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Friedel's a daft suggestion imo. The man brought in to replace him 4 seasons ago (Robinson) is still at the Club. EDIT: No more ancient marquee signings on huge money please, just young hungry players on the up or one or two older heads but still in their prime.

Hear, hear I would rather add someone like Yossi Benayoun
saxo1man30 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 i like the idea of benayoun(playing just off rhodes), but the reality is he`s on huge wages and hasn`t shown any decent form in a long time..
arbitro Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Hear, hear I would rather add someone like Yossi Benayoun The issue with signing players who are currently with Premier League clubs is their wages. How much would Benayoun be on? I doubt any of them would come for less money.
