Parson I have a theory that once the unbeaten run is over, things will begin to simmer down. There is so much anxiety between the fans, one set desperately clinging to an amazing record, the other equally desperate to see it end. Everyone gets worked up into such a frenzy.

It will certainly take the pressure off us every time we play them in the future. I'd personally rather hang on to the record for many years to come, the anxiety makes for a great atmosphere at the game.

Mike, appears to me like you have grown up in an era where the Burnley rivalry doesn't mean too much to you as we spent a number of years in the Premiership. A lot of fans grew up not knowing what it was like to play them, and thought Man Utd to be our rivals.

Those that experienced the 70's and 80's know full well what it means and I expect the large majority of the support on Saturday to be in the age range or 35-55 years old.

I would love to go, but the money and police over-presence puts me off. I'm only 22 and have grown up in an era where it's more important to enjoy yourself regardless, rather than specifically go to Burnley, that's all.

Agree Mike. Been last few times and I'm pretty sick of being treat like an animal, I'm 25 and I think Mike is about 23. However we both understand the rivalry and hatred. If you don't or can't then you have to be pretty darn stupid. With the matches becoming more regular though and probably for years to come, some of the sting will be taken out of the games IMO. I also think that IF and WHEN we do get beat off them lot, a lot of hatred on their side will die down and increase on our side.

I'm currently sat in the sun in Turkey and will be on Saturday enjoying an Efes. Sounds a lot better than being in a bus for 3 hours to me.

i'm not going and i must be in the minority when the reasoning has nothing to to with price , transportation or policing ..... i simply do not enoy the games , they're too tense the fear of losing is unbearable for me , i'm 38 ive been to 6 derby's home and away and apart from the 5-0 drubbing i can honestly say ive not enjoyed any of the actual games

I saw the Burnley owners' open letter to the Burnley fans: http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/news/article/an-open-letter-to-burnley-fans-090913-1043300.aspx

Spells out their current situation, strategy and thanks the fans for their support.

Pity our owners/management aren't as transparent as this or even care about the fans enough to communicate (yet expect people to pay hard-earned money for season tickets).

I believe the last Venkys message to the fans was "We're confused". Since then we've had 5 managers, but not a word from the owners.

Playing Burnley just isnt the rarity that it was in the 90s/00s the novelty has worn off a little, unless your a die hard that goes to a lot of away games anyway.

EH? Fatigue of our biggest derby. Not a view I have heard before. Celtic and Rangers played each other 4 or 5 times a year until recenlty and seemed to keep the energy up OK.

Even the LET isn't that intesrested judging by the fact that there has been little build up and the website hasn't been updated since yesterday morning.

It most certainly wouldn't.

It would to an extent, I'd be much less nervous without that to lose and once it becomes more back and forth it will just be about the match itself and the current bragging rights rather than taking a record off us

Anyway I hope the Boys and girls going have a great day and come home smiling

Keep going Will, I've got my coat on, I'm almost out of the door for a ticket....

I wouldn't quite say that. As someone in their late 30's who grew up around Dingle infested Accy I am currently on No.132 of things I would rather do than PAY to be treated like scum and hearded into a building I wouldn't house pigs in

both but one was not an option in the poll

Yeah. I was thinking about how, for a lot of fans - even though many of them still turn up to games, the last three years have quelled the passion that they once had. So much so, that if a bit more effort is needed to attend away games, they struggle to find it.

Simply travel for me den, nothing to do with the confused 2 in Pune.

I'd even go as far as to say Dunnys goal last season was probably the best moment I've had whilst watching a derby game and probably the best moment since we won the cup under Souness.

Yeah Gav, but under the previous regime, you wouldn't have missed - whatever the travel arrangements?

may be for you but not for me.

you are another of the 'if you dont go to every game your not a supporter type'

get a life.

Hang on you're telling him to get a life for enjoying supporting rovers and going to a game?! The burnley games are the first thing anybody looks at on the fixture list, and you're complaining that people are excited about the game that's in 2 days time?

No, that's not what he said. The guy should get a life instead of putting fellow fans down who (for whatever reason) are doing something else.

It's a great fixture and a cracking atmosphere. But for £40 (plus drinks) and 8hrs of my time I'd be expecting a place in the hospitality suites.

You don't see ANYONE slagging off others on the basis that they wish to go to the match. Those who aren't going whether they'd prefer to or not) deserve the same respect.

No he's telling him to get a life as well as supporting Rovers and quite rightly so. There is more to life than football.

Am I?. I think not. I don't see myself as a better supporter than the next man.

I just know that there aren't many games that the Rovers can play that are much bigger than Burnley away.

Cup finals, semi-finals, league deciders, play-offs yeh definatly.

My Brother, Mum and Dad all don't go to games as much these days are they bigger supporters than me, no.

They have other reasons for not going. Not one of them has ever said, it's on the telly though!
