Has anyone else who isn't a season ticket holder picked up an application form? Just curious because at the top it says "phase 1", but I'm not a season ticket holder so I don't know if this will affect my chances, or if that's just what all forms say

I just phoned up last week and got them no problem, no form involved.

Ha ha... I knew that Longsider's post would set off an alarm in Frodo's cave.

Another week of this and Gav will have to attend. Get a ticket, you know you want to.

We should have a message board meet up before the match. We could throw thinly veiled barbs and insults at each other and then just skulk off home.

Used to have a pre-match drink with Rovers fans up until it was outlawed in 2005. Always have a post-match pint with a few of them somewhere in Accy. It's almost as if all the guff on here is just a bit of fun.

Don't tell the police.

I've been to quite a few Hearts v Hibs derbies which are as intence as any in the ground but outside you see loads of people meeting mates and family from the other side and going for a few beers in full colours and everything. Pity that ain't going to happen next week.

Perhaps to make it more realistic for those who can not attend, Admin could set up a special thread for this where anybody who wants to participate must enter the special forum thread 5 hours before kick off and can not leave, but are allowed to eat pies, crisps etc drink brews and chat with other Rovers supporters in the special "Animal enclosure thread"

About 3 hours before KO the people from the Lancs constabulary endorsed "Animal Enclosure thread" are moved into a "journey underway thread" again people can not leave this thread , sporadic images will appear in this thread to keep people entertained like images of Police holding up an handful of overtime cash, and images of victorian Yorkshire as the thread gets closer to the dingledome.

After 1.5 hours Dingles will be allowed to enter the "Journey underway thread" and pleasantries exchanged.

1.25 hours before kick off all "Journey underway" thread users will be escorted to the "land that time forgot " thread where images from films such as the hills have eyes, mutant and deliverance will greet the users as well as the dingles greatest moments from Emmerdale. Once in this thread users must swop their comfy chairs for any crappy wooden seat and must remain in these for the next 2.75 hours.

The hatred comes from the late 70's and early 80's, is 2 sided and from your end probably comes from all the times you lot were literally knocked down time and again in the heyday of the hooligans - running scared so often must have hurt your lot ^_^ . Thank the lord most people have grown up since then.

LOL

This is the myth Burnley fans have consoled themselves with for the last 34 years. However some of us have seen plenty of examples in the past to refute this delusion.

Chucked any asbestos at your own fans recently longsideys? Run away from some Alsatians? I swear I've never seen 1500 people move so fast in my life that day when the dogs went in.

<Insert comedy, satirical, yellow smillie here> Blah blah blah.

34 baby. 34.

I think the majority of the hate comes from over the Pennines to be honest.

And you can't blame them really: 30-odd years of defeats, constantly in the shadow of us, etc, etc.

The Dingles are like the annoying little brother of Rovers who makes lots of noise and gets above his station.

They just need knocking back down every now and then.

Well done. I can't imagine anythijg more patronising and more likely to wind up dingles than this. Keep it up.

well done andy, job done

a bait a day keeps the dingles away

Just watched highlights of the 5-0 game again, brilliant day. The funniest moment was Ian Moore's extravagant celebration in front of the Blackburn End after putting in an offside 'goal'. Priceless. What a muppet.

Last season was discussing that very match with Paul Smith (ex dingle) before the game. He said their bench went mental, and they didnt realise it was ruled out for 30 seconds or so. He was brought on at half time at 0-2, and he said there was a massive fall-out in the dressing room before the second half kicked off, as the subs were told to go rescue the game by Tennent, and they told him to f off.

Great times: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/1253086.stm

It'll be closely fought at t'turf, but i dont agree the pressure is on us, its them who have to overturn the dominance. They may (rightly) claim an offside last minute Dunn goal, but also forget a blatant foul in the lead up to their late leveller in the game at turf moor too.

Working in Nelson, im as desperate as any for not losing the game as a minimum. Would it help dissol e some of the bitterness if they won (as suggested by some), in short - no. This is our & their derby game, the likes of olton, blackpool, preston etc is a mere one-up to have in comparison.

Its just a shame that (both) clubs have decided to make it a rip- off for the fans IMO, and the police make it as difficult to attend as possible too.

That myth needs filing under 'Burnley Works of Fiction - volume 67' behind their thousands of away fans every game, fervent support, sleeping giant, sold out home games and any other wind & urine they have always come out with. :)

Not so sure now from the dingle perspective,

they seem to be making Wigan their rivals now they have invented the "i pie" app

Let's take a look at the results since you last beat us in 1979 shall we longsidey's?

December 1982 - burnley 0 - Rovers 1

April 83 - Rovers 2 - burnley 1.

You'd just been relegated from the top tier. You were relegated at the end of this season as well before appointing football genius John Bond as your new manager. We were totally and utterly skint, playing the same 11 outfield players for a league record 393 times between 1981 and 1985.

We then had a long wait to play you again, you were busying yourselves singing "no nay never" whilst in division 4 (as you weren't good enough to play us). We had just been relegated, this was our second season in the second tier. You were promoted in order for us to thrash you twice.

December 2000 - burnley 0 - Rovers 2

April Fools Day 2001 - Rovers 5 - burnley 0.

There was then a spell of 4.5 half years before we met again - in the Cup.

Feb 2005 - burnley 0 - Rovers 0. Clearly the finances were drying up by this point so Rovers deemed a replay was necessary in order to swell the coffers.

Mar 2005 - Rovers 2 - burnley 1. The first game since my son was born two days previously. So thanks for this result.

What isn't in doubt though, even if you do get the win, is that you didn't beat us for 34 years. Failure there was on your part as for all that time you were either in the same division, or more often than not, one or two divisions below us. 34 years in your 131 year history. That's 26%. A quarter of your entire clubs history without beating Blackburn Rovers.

Long may our run continue. The pressure on your players to end it must be huge.

Let's just hope that the pressure on OUR players is at least equal to theirs, but somehow I very much doubt it will be!
