blondie Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Competitive means, competing at a level of skill, awareness, ability. Not the standard offered by the dynamic duo .
Stuart Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Rhodes' form has to be a concern but I'm 'guessing' that he hasn't been getting much in the way of service recently. Our problems stem from being short of cover in central defence and an agricultural yet spineless centre midfield. Injuries haven't helped our cause but both of these are things which an experience manager would have addressed. Yet, the usual folks will continue to see our most natural finisher since Bellamy as the root of all evil and won't be happy until he is gone. Sad times.

Absolutely and all those that are fortunate enough to have a piano will know only too well the bugger doesn't play itself.
Amo Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 dunno but captain today and totally anonymous in a 4-0 hammering that could have been worse to a struggling notlob. He never broke sweat. That's his fault! Whereas Gestede accomplished what exactly?
somersetrover Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 He's not doing anywhere near enough, I don't mind if he's not scoring every striker has a barron spell but he puts in so little effort and is looking very disinterested. This is the first time that i have though this but if we could get £5 million (wishful thinking prehaps) then I would cash in and try and get Bill McKay for half the price and probaly less than half the wages. Whereas Gestede accomplished what exactly? Rudy as did today as he always does which is win numerous headers and flick ons but unfortunately as usual apart from one turn and shot last week Rhodes was no way near him to win the next phase.

Well apparently Gestede was stuck in his own half for most of the game, so I'm not surprised.
somersetrover Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Well apparently Gestede was stuck in his own half for most of the game, so I'm not surprised. Gestede came deep occasionally but that's because the midfield two create nothing and Rhodes is stood up there like a statue waiting for something to happen and when he had his chance today he missed.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Our most natural finisher since Bellamy? Are we really going with that?
SoldierMo Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 He had one player in conway supplying crosses and the dynamic duo in middle.....dunt get me started
martonrover Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I don't think there is any lack of effort from Jordan. Quite simply he does one thing very well, (until recently), but that is the extent of his capabilities.
Jimmy612 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Our most natural finisher since Bellamy? Are we really going with that? No are we @#/?. Woeful comment.
roversfan99 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I think Rhodes plays much better with Dunn just off him, or if not him someone similar. Him and Gestede doesn't work in my opinion. Rhodes doesn't read flick ons very well, he is better running onto the ball.
thenodrog Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Whereas Gestede accomplished what exactly?Stuck out 2nd half on the right wing! A strong mobile cf who can give as good as he gets in the air when a player with none of those attributes strolls about at cf. The Bolton CH's must have been psising themselves in disbelief and Dougie must have thought it was his birthday. As I said after watching Varney put a decent hard working shift in Rhodes is now 3rd choice in my book. Amarillo... where you at the match?
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 No are we Kean. Woeful comment. The phrase " talking through his pipe " springs to mind. Have we really forgotten " The Yak " so soon ?
USABlue Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 What was the spat I read on here between Rodes and GB
SoldierMo Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Rhodes set to sign new 5 year contract...i for one would be delighted keep him for next season and keep this team fully fit and surely with few more signings we can have a good crack at promotion next season
Backroom Tom Posted March 4, 2014 Author Backroom Posted March 4, 2014 One of the best goalscorers in the league and it's good news if it means we keep hold but odd really doesn't he have a few years left anyway? Hope it's not a big pay rise
JAL Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Cant believe Gary Bowyer made Jordan captain its exposed Gary on what hes got and what he knows about what hes got.
Hekla Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 How much do we think he will be on now? He was on 35k a week if I remember correctly? Got to be around 50k, no team will ever match that if they wanted him which can only be good for us.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 4, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted March 4, 2014 Not good for our bank balance though!!
mattjansen Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Not good for our bank balance though!! Just love being a rover, everything can be something negative. The best since Shearer and yet bad.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Just love being a rover, everything can be something negative. The best since Shearer and yet bad. Best since Shearer ? You must be barking at the moon. I'd have Kevin Galagher, Cole, Jansen, Bellamy, Santa Cruz, Fat Benny and Yakubu before Rhodes any day. He must be thinking all his Christmas's have come at once. He's on mega bucks and not even guaranteed a start on Sunday.
