Of course he can and should be praised to the moon don't be daft

He's been crap for a whole and he was rightly criticised and today he's scored a hattrick and deserves the plaudits

Not sure why it has to be further than that but it seems a huge game of I told you so

Exactly this - embarrassing to read if I'm honest.

Can't say Rhodes has been any worse than anyone else recently but he's certainly a class above the vast majority of the rest of the team and squad.

Suggest the majority of us enjoy him and his goals while we can and Gordon gets his jibes in before the end of the season because can't see how he'll be here beyond that.

I've never said he's not without his fault, but some posters seem so desparate to criticise the lad, other posters feel the need to defend him. To be honest, he's scored a hell of a lot of goals for us, and I dread to think where we'd be without said goals.

Anyway, this debate has been done to death. We've just won 4-2 away, have a beer, dance a jig, or whatever makes you happy...

Be out in force tonight the Jordettes. Fair play to him, he is absolutely clinical!

 At least I'm a Jordette when he isn't getting the service, as well as when he is.

If we win, the 'Sack Bowyer' types are down in the dumps. If Rhodes gets a hat trick, the 'Rhodes is crap' brigade are either miserable or turn plastic.

Just goes to what I've been saying all along. Play to Rhodes' strengths and he (and we) will be successful. Launch the ball long and we will struggle. Ironic that people don't like the long ball game but use Rhodes' not liking the long ball game either as a stick to beat him with!

Oh can you not? And who would you suggest is going to pay his outrageous transfer fee, not to

Mention offer him the best part of £50k p/w

Tom.….. The irony is that its a huge excercise of 'I told you so' by certain people who are on record recently as wanting Bowyer sacked off asap! Surely if Rhodes is deserving of praise today then so is Bowyer?..... Or does it not work like that on brfcs?

Rhodes is infuriating. Poor and lazy footballer but when he's on fire he certainly knows how to find the net.

By the way, who wouldn't have traded one of his goals today for the bad miss against Burnley last week ?

You'll be miserable tonight then Stuart being one of bowyers staunchest opposition?

As for turning plastic, you can read just about every one of my posts regarding Rhodes and in many I have acknowledged his ability in the box. What you fail to acknowledge is his lack of ability otherwise. That's your downfall you see, you're so wrapped up in blaming everyone else for Rhodes' loss of form that you conveniently ignore the blatant misgivings in his game.

Anyway, did his job today so we can all be pleased for him

Not that I've said he should be sacked. Maybe it's no coincidence that Lowe being moved to defence has meant us playing further up the field and being more attack minded - similar to when Lowe was suspended if memory serves. If Bowyer continues to put Lowe back there, I will be a lot happier, and it might even demonstrate that he is learning. Sadly, my guy tells me that Lowe will be back in centre midfield soon enough.

What a shame for you that he did well today and reached 20 for the season. Again. Anyone else might give it a couple of days before slagging him off.

That's cos I Dont have a memory the equivalent of the average goldfish. Let me help you to recollect stuart. Today jr commendably bagged a hat trick but 3 days ago he was absolutely abysmal, 6 days ago he figured well over 45 mins and the completely disappeard into duffs back pocket and the week before was again completely anonymous.

Could it be that there were other changes to the team imposed by injuries that caused us to revert back to the system that saw him scoring.

Or maybe he'd just lost his form. Could do with him scoring a few against Leicester next week too. Would be good for team morale.

We all know there are lies damn lies and statistics but Rhodes goalscoring stats over a period of three seasons now suggest he is top quality.

He is not just a flash in the pan doing it for a few games albeit his critics are not prepared to allow him the odd lean spell.

Lean spells of course are expected of every striker. What many won't tolerate is a seeming acceptance to be bettered and outplayed by many defenders in this division. If Rhodes has any aspirations to be the 'top quality' striker that you think he is, the he better start watching top quality strikers work rate and ability to maintain possession against defenders. Not only that but top quality is incredibly OTT seeing as he is plying his trade in the second division.

As I've said, well done to him today, he's done what he does best.

Will we hell. Use the money well and we'll be a better team. Better teams win more games.

Seems like you think he's the only player in the team. As though whenever we fail it is solely down to him not being Kevin Davies, circa 2010.

How many times does it have to be said that it's not his game? We either play to his strengths and reap the rewards, or we get rid. Today we did and look what happened.

Two thoughts as to why:

1) He was given the captain's arm band - much to everyone's disgust - so there's a certain amount of duty from the players.

2) Lowe was not the link between defence and (non) attack. But because he didn't cost £8m and came through the ranks with Bowyer, he's protected.

You seen the goals have you Stuart? I'll reserve judgement till I have. Sounds like on is a flick from a long ball, one is a stood up cross from Conway, and the third is a gift from their player.

Perhaps not a change in style to suit him, just a change in fortune for Rhodes in front of goal.

It is amazing - Lowe has played most matches this season - and yet we have won some !

Yes, Lowe has played in most matches this season - and look where we are and what state we are in.

If you could only pick one OR the other, who would you pick? Lowe or Rhodes?
