chaddyrovers Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 who is Moyes the agent? has he done a lot of work for Rovers over the past 12 months? Isn't Peter Morrison Rhodes's agent? Didn't Rovers/Bowyer pull out of Bannan deal because of his agent wanting a large fee for him???

Baz Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Publishing this info, is only part of sorting it out. In our case we need to see the breakdown per deal, in order to see what was paid and to whom, so we can see nothing untoward has happened. Moyes is Kenny Moyes, Davids brother I think, and Ive heard a good friend of Steve Kean. That should set some alarm bells about comments made by David towards Rovers fans?
T.J.Newton Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 as long as the Venksters are picking up the tab, I couldn't give a toss anymore, time to move on. p.s. hows the book coming along Mr. Mullan ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz?
thenodrog Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Blackpool £0. Did they not buy or sell any players?? That table by rights should be the other way up. Blackpool should be seen to be at the top Karl Oyston runs his club the right way and proves that agents in the main are unecessary.
thenodrog Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 That without question has to be the work of Shebby and if its not corrupt then its a harsh and expensive lesson when Venkys allow a complete prick to come in as global advisor and run riot. Venkys! Not Singh. You have answered your own question. Whether Singh did good, bad or both (and the jury still has to be out on this one) he was appointed by and accountable to the Venkymob.
thenodrog Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Glen whilst I agree with most of the above post I speak for myself and possibly most of the fanbase we don't mind sheeling out agent fees for people like rhodes as financially and without his goals we would be a lot worse off and to a degree DJ Campbell who has started to show some good form before his injury and for this level DJ Campbell is definitely a risk worth taking. Interesting this. DJ played for Blackpool. We know Karl Oyston would rather stick pins in his eyes tha pay agents. So can we surmise that DJ Campbell either didnt use an agent OR paid his agent's fees himself? I must admit to being mystified why clubs are expected to pay the fees of footballers agents. *sorry Tony Oz... just read your post highlighting Oystons comments. The more I see of Karl Oyston as a club chairman the more I admire him and his methods.
Gav Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 p.s. hows the book coming along Mr. Mullan ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz? He's just contributed in 1 sentance more more you have since you joined 12 months ago, so if you've nothing of interest to say keep it shut. 2012-13 Blackpool made 29 transactions and paid nothing: Oyston was happy to explain his alternative strategy to Sportsmail. ‘It’s not that I’ve never paid an agent or never will,’ he said. ‘But my view is that when we try to sign a player, his agent is not working for the club. He is employed by the player and should be paid by the player. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2413633/Blackburn-spend-3-5m-agent-fees--Football-League-total-year.html Unrealistic probably but I like it! Its not unrealistic if other chairmen followed the same model, it makes perfect sense for teams strapped for cash in the lower leagues, they should all get together and agree this is the way forward and stop dodgy dealing and money leaving the game.

Naively, I had been wondering whether David "font of decency" Moyes was ever going to have words for the real victims in the abuse of Rovers. What should be the punishment for Steve Kean?

Also apparently helped Shelfy out at Nob End with a few deals whilst his brother was manager and after, unfortunately or fortunately Nob End ended up with worthless players on long expensive contracts, sound familiar?

JAL Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Then again according to the mail article from a while back.. it was still a big chunk.. Paulo Jorge: Age 20, Starts: 0, Agent fee: £156,000 Nuno Henrique: Age: 26, Starts: 0, Agent fee: £65,000 Fabio Nunes: Age: 20, Starts: 2, Agent fee: £150,000 Diogo Rosado: Age: 23, Starts: 1, Agent fee: £135,000 Edinho Junior: Age: 19, Starts 2, Agent fee: £150,000 Total: 656k for reference.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2306573/Financial-picture-Blackburn-Venkys-revealed--Exclusive.html Add that to our transfers and other loans.. Kane, Bentley, Jones, Stewart, King, Williamson, Sandomierski, Best, Gomes, Rhodes, Murphy, CKR, Etuhu, Murphy, DJ, Rekik.. plus it may include agents fees for managers.. So just who picked up these fees ?
Al Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Blackpool £0. Did they not buy or sell any players?? Blackpool refuse to pay agents. The one good thing about the Oystons. If all the clubs took that stance there would be less money leached out of football by these parasites.

Stuart Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Blackpool refuse to pay agents. The one good thing about the Oystons. If all the clubs took that stance there would be less money leached out of football by these parasites. This illustrates the problem with agents stranglehold on the game. Yes, the Oyston's apparently don't deal with them but until everyone else follows suit they end up with poor players or have to grow their own.
McClarky Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 There's nothing wrong with agents per se. It's corrupt and self serving agents that are the problem. A young, financially immature player has to deal with a multi million pound business to negotiate a contract. Of course he is going to use an agent to represent him. There should be stricter registration and regulation control of agents but we know how seriously these controls are taken in football don't we.
Al Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Would players not just ask for more money in the contract negotiations? When I was working I asked for more money. I didn't always get it. Yes, the Oyston's apparently don't deal with them but until everyone else follows suit they end up with poor players or have to grow their own. We deal with them and still get poor players. McClarky Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Dead right, they are the agent of the player, or should be.
Stuart Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 We deal with them and still get poor players. Our players aren't as bad as Blackpool's (yet). Like I said, I'd have agents out of the game or very heavily regulated/capped but it can't be the odd protest vote. Just ask Mike Newell. As long as the player and not the club pay the agent there is no problem. The club pays the player so whichever way you cut it, the club is ultimately paying the agent.
RoverCanada Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 When I was working I asked for more money. I didn't always get it. If a footballer's skillset is wanted, he has monopoly power and plenty of outside options in negotiations
