matt83 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Assuming he'd have to tell the truth and wouldn't spin the official party line Id ask a simple question, the same question id ask the raos. What's going on? Do you have to run every decision via the venkys. Are the venkys difficult to work with. As owners what do they want to achieve and how do they intend to do it. Do they countermand every decision made at his lower level of running the club. Truth is he probably won't know the answers. Apparently he was useless at Preston seems to have hit those levels here. So finally does he want to just go back to selling shelves or whatever he did before.
tomphil Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Hypothetically speaking, if you could ask one question of Derek Shaw, what would it be? 1 of these : WHY are you still in a job after the Berg fiasco ? Are you still friends with Mr Agnew ? How much have you trousered in your time here ?
unleaded Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I would ask him if BRFC has one of these and can I see it .... http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/player-by-player-breakdown-of-what-pompey-owe-1-5468027
Brfcrule1 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 There are many questions I have for Mr Shaw 1.When are you going to hand in your resignation? 2. Why on earth did the board appoint Appleton when better managers were out there who could have done a much better job e.g. Holloway, Mick McCarthy even a Spanish manager had handed in his cv so why appoint Appleton with far less experience and the decision to appoint Appleton was it cleared by Venkys as it was reported Shebby was not involved in the appointment of Appleton? 3. In the Berg court case it is claimed you acted on your own to award Berg the full term of his contract whereas Mrs D only wanted a couple of months of the contract so what is the truth & after costing Venkys a lot of money have they explained why they have retained you as in the real world when you make such a costly mistake you are usually fired what are venkys thoughts on this situation?
chaddyrovers Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 There are many questions I have for Mr Shaw 2. Shebby didn't want Holloway as manager when Shaw wanted Holloway. think rumours were that when meeting Holloway didn't Shebby walk out of the meeting? Shebby and Shaw then appointed Berg not Appleton. Appleton came after. The owners made this decision not Shaw or Shebby. this was said in podcast 55.
perthblue02 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 If Shaw would actually have to tell the truth this would be a great opportunity, so many questions could be based on deals and interactions with certain people at Nob End and continuing at Rovers but one question springs to mind. After the statement you made less than 12 months ago do you still stand by that at the time you had never met Jerome Anderson?
jim mk2 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Can you fix my wonky shelf ? If he can't, then next question is why are you still here ?
Brfcrule1 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Thanks Chaddy it explains a lot a counter question would be 1. Why did the owners appoint Appleton whose record was rubbish everywhere he has been and why they did not go with the Spanish manager with a much better track record or McCarthy with a good record in the championship what was their reasoning behind appointing Appleton & who recommended Appleton to Venkys?.
tomphil Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I would ask him if BRFC has one of these and can I see it .... http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/player-by-player-breakdown-of-what-pompey-owe-1-5468027 Frightening stuff. I bet there is a list similar to that at Rovers accounts dept already

McCarthy was appointed Ipswich manager roughly around the same time Rovers appointed Berg. What Spanish manager? do you mean Bernd Schuster? if so, he's German but has managed 5 Spanish clubs tho.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted September 7, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted September 7, 2013 Name one good thing you've done since being MD.
Backroom Tom Posted September 7, 2013 Backroom Posted September 7, 2013 What is the airspeed velocity of an unaden swallow?
Brfcrule1 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Chaddy you have hit the nail on the head yes I do mean Schuster & would like to know who decided to appoint appleton ahead of Schuster as surely one person should have won hands down.
Ozz Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Can you fix my wonky shelf ? If he can't, then next question is why are you still here ? Ribble Valley Shelving are more supplies than repairs. Consider Ribble Valley Repairs (Shelving Dept)
patrickvalery Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Considering most other incoming personnel in the previous 36 months were given pseudonyms such as 'The New Dennis Irwin', were you aggrieved not to be labelled 'The New Gerald Ratner'?
T.J.Newton Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 do you think certain people tried to discredit you and use you as a scapegoat last season?(as your actually doing a reasonable job this year, so your clearly not totally useless)
Reedy You're A Star Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 What is the airspeed velocity of an unaden swallow? European or African?
funny-old-game Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Did you realise a picture of you had been taken in a certain Ribble Valley pub when you had to many sherry's and fallen asleep in the pub!!!!!!!!!!!!
chaddyrovers Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Chaddy you have hit the nail on the head yes I do mean Schuster & would like to know who decided to appoint appleton ahead of Schuster as surely one person should have won hands down. And Podcast 55 tell you who did. Schuster is a good manager but no experience in this country tho. Anyone think this Berg and Appleton debate has gone now. no point going over it yet again. We need to get behind Bowyer and the players and focus on this season and NOT last season.
Backroom Tom Posted September 7, 2013 Backroom Posted September 7, 2013 European or African? Huh? I... I don't know that
bob fleming Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Derek, one question for you and the same question for Venkys coincidentally, just out of interest, what else are you sh1t at?
Proudtobeblue&white Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Derek, one question for you and the same question for Venkys coincidentally, just out of interest, what else are you sh1t at? Explain the last three years?
