RevidgeBlue Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 So that's in direct contrast to what some people were saying last week - that Bowyer is in control of transfers and that players will only be sold if he agrees to it. Now it appears he is having players sold behind his back. Not exactly sold behind his back but it appears the situation is much the same as when the Walker Trust was in charge, any offer has to be referred to them and if they want to take the money that's the end of it regardless of the manager's views. Very wishy washy interview from Bowyer, sounds like he isn't willing to rock the boat and is willing to go along with anything that is said. I'd rather a manager had the testicular fortitude to say "if player X is sold I walk" be it ,Souness Allardyce Ince or Bowyer. There's only Sparky who was dead set against selling our best players and fought to keep them together, the others (mistakenly) all thought they were a dab hand in the transfer market and didn't kick up a fuss.

ABBEY Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 CHADDY do you think boreya is still in charge of players ?
RevidgeBlue Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Also a very poor answer from him about whether or not the sale of Gestede would remove us from the embargo. "It's a question for the Finance Director". HMMMph. He should be working hand in glove with the finance team to ascertain exactly what is needed to remove us from embargo. So he should be in a position to say something like "We don't want to sell Rudy but if he were to go it would place us very close to being out of the emvbargo" or "The sale wouldn't make a material difference as to whether we come out of the embargo or not". At least that would make it sound like there's some sort of plan not like the manager doesn't know what day of the week it is.
Stuart Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I'm just trying to remember if Bowyer has every previously admitted not having a say in a transfer.
West Yorks Rover Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Bowyer didn't seem particularly upset, perhaps a nice sales bonus for him, and maybe one or two others at Ewood ? Or am I being a little cynical ?
perthblue02 Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 The interview to me sounds like he's gone into deflection mode again, must have seen how well its worked for our MD and a certain manager previously, wonder how the interview has gone down in Pune Towers obviously if they have listened to it
AllRoverAsia Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Maybe GB is just distancing himself from what he already knows are done deals.
ABBEY Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Boring but playoffs or top two is what he's said ... Going up going up going up
Leonard Venkhater Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Boring but playoffs or top two is what he's said ... Going up going up going up ...in smoke!
roverandout Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 In a hot air balloon to @#/? on those @#/?s below, below, to @#/? on those @#/?s below
perthblue02 Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Boring but playoffs or top two is what he's said ... Going up going up going up Come on Abbey think positive we are currently second and only 1 point off going top will be the longest run in top six since the pre season last year.
AllRoverAsia Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 The man is SO boring... He really is. I was of to bed after listening to him...........but then the Lancs v Yorkshire T20 came on the Telly..............
Bucksrover Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Also a very poor answer from him about whether or not the sale of Gestede would remove us from the embargo. At least that would make it sound like there's some sort of plan not like the manager doesn't know what day of the week it is. Good point. If I know I am going to talk on behalf of my company and I know I will be asked something that a colleague knows more about - I ask them beforehand. Very unprofessional to duck the question because another member of staff has a more relevant job title for the question topic. If you can't answer important, basic questions on behalf of the club then don't do an interview by yourself - what is the FD doing that is more important than communicating with the main stakeholders of the club. But we should be snapping up season tickets?! Joke
RevidgeBlue Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 The interview to me sounds like he's gone into deflection mode again, must have seen how well its worked for our MD and a certain manager previously, wonder how the interview has gone down in Pune Towers obviously if they have listened to it I thought that, whilst stopping short of openly criticising the owners for approving the sale he's adopted a neutral "nothing to do with me guv" stance no doubt leaving him the option of pointing to sales made against his wishes should performance be disappointing next season. I wouldn't be impressed if I was the owners but then again we don't know what's been said behind closed doors.
davulsukur Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I can't see what the fuss is about over the Gestede question. I wouldn't be giving a straight answer on that either as it would undoubtedly come back to haunt you later. As for taking the finance director along to the interview, come on. That was never going to happen. If the LT wants to ask those questions, they should try and get an interview with FD. The interviewer also gave him an easy out when he started the question with "This is probably a question for the finance director...." Bowyer will know the details of Gestede's sale and the impact it will have (if any) on the embargo. Just because he didn't want to reveal information into the public domain which can be used as a stick to beat him with further down the line, everyone starts moaning.
Roverall Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I think that the deafening silence mentioned on several threads is the clearest indication we have had that Venkys are looking to bail out. (In)Action speaks louder than words, of which there have been none! How they will exit without having somebody sniffing round the books? It's hard to see any way that they will be able to extricate themselves from this unholy mess without drawing even more negative publicity onto themselves. My greatest fear is that they gut the club even further, reduce operating costs to practically nothing and never relinquish control...
Rover_Shaun Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 "If it meets their valuation" Who is setting these valuations for them? Something smells fishy
Backroom Tom Posted July 3, 2015 Backroom Posted July 3, 2015 Are we having a right good go? We are trying ever so hard to
glen9mullan Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Just listened to Radio Lancashire interview , Just sounded like a "I'll do what I'm told and don't have a say" interview . So whilst those plonkers in Pune are playing God with our team , other clubs in our division are well on their way to building their teams for next season . Thing is , who is advising them if it is not bowyer ?
Stuart Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Surely those days are over Glen? It doesn't seem like there is an money to be made in our current situation.
glen9mullan Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Surely those days are over Glen? It doesn't seem like there is an money to be made in our current situation. They are worse than i thought , if they are making decisions without advice , I just can't see how they would be stupid enough to do that despite their track record
J*B Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Have we any players coming back that will be like new signings?
