You might be correct, one thing I am sure of though is, they will not be pushed around by mere supporters

they never listened and couldn't care less and unlike Blackpool no matter how much protesting or shouting we do they ever will hear or see

How many clubs have gone to the wall with massive debts, clubs of our stature? NONE!

It's irrelevant what's happened to other clubs Gav - and even if it hasn't happened, it doesn't mean it can't happen to anyone. But seeing as you asked, Glasgow Rangers.

We need to get rid of the owners by fair means or foul....

I will say it again an empty stadium speaks volumes !

I am sure I saw Glasgow Rangers a couple of weeks ago , in a play off game ! They lost !

Not true den, Rangers have one of the best managers in the country if you listen to people on here and are only 3 seasons potentially from champions league football.

I'd swap places with them tomorrow.

We can't keep making excuses for just accepting what's going on, as we limp into a season with hardly any players of actual quality and a real possibility we'll slip into league 1, what's it going to take for people to wake up and stop making bloody excuses.

It simply won't happen Rev, we need them out of the club pal, simple as that, to keep hoping they'll turn things round is just bonkers to me, 5yrs is enough, we need them out.

Don't disagree, GAV, but what do you propose? Protests? Boycotts?

Only a minority were prepared to boycott, and the media just twisted things to garner sympathy for Kean. Attendances will dwindle organically as fans grow further disillusioned with goings on at the club. I don't think you'll ever see a mass boycott or pitch invasion.

Yeah we sold Cairney for a good bit of profit but that's the first one of bowyers signings to do so. So to say bowyer's "prime task" is to sign cheap and sell for profit is absolute rubbish.

Disagree. Evidence being how often GB mentions increasing player value. No other reason to bang in about that as much as he does imo.

As for Rhodes think it's an Indian pride thing that stops them selling him. Saving face is huge in that culture.

No, you're talking about Rangers FC. Glasgow Rangers were liquidated.

Ask the spfl Wikipedia wrong there pal

+ BTW I went the QOTS and Hibs games at Ibrox full to the rafters

Just bagged themselves a highly rated manager.. Wish we had him

TBH don't know what we can do as there so far away from Ewood and no one listened last time

Its never going to happen Baz and is the reason people are taking out their frustration on Bowyer, he's accessible, an easy target, but its pointless when the real issue lies with the owners.

Forget the debt, its just another reason to let the owners off the hook, we need to unite and force them out, simple as that.

I'm not saying it will happen, in fact it's extremely unlikely to do so, however given my copper jar doesn't stretch far enough, and im not friendly with any current billionaires, I can only suggest we are a little stuck. I do think though that even under status quo with the owners things could be so much better.

In answer to Revs point - yes, the idea of bringing someone like JW in, would be to judge the manager on results, something I reckon given the last 2 seasons GB wouldn't be able to deliver. JW would say our current first team wage structure is x highest in the league, therefore I expect you (the manager) to deliver (at least) position x. If you don't we need to assess why.

That's not strictly true. When Bowyer came in, and early into his permanent tenure as manager, he was very vocally defended (when compared to Kean) that he was for more honest and genuine, one of us, and that if he was out of his depth would walk because he had real dignity and integrity and loves the club.

Now it has become clear that he doesn't have what it takes the tables are turning again, and excuses are being made. Sadly, Rovers have continued to downgrade at the same rate that we did under Kean but because Bowyer is well-liked and we know nothing about his agents' motives we are meant to carry on smiling through it.

I am convinced that Berg or even Appleton could have done as well as, if not better than, Bowyer had they not had all of the disruption in the background and had been left to get on with things. If either of those two had come in post-Agnew-Shaw-Singh-Gate and been backed financially (as Bowyer has) then we would be as good if not better IMHO. Those who defended Bowyer throughout those wasted years are now saying it's too late. Well thank you very much for rubber stamping (with the power of hindsight) what many of us were saying two years ago (with foresight).

The alternative view to that "bone of contention" stuart is that Kean did so much damage to the role of manager at our club, how could anyone ever truly regain trust from all circles of support?

Hindsight is a wonderful thing to have but in the summer of 2013- GB was the best manager we'd had since Big Sam. That's in results and performances. I went to Sheff Wednesday away and whilst we got beat 3-2 I actually saw 11 misfits working for each other. I didn't think we'd go down, and the performances against millwall away was the best that season at a time we needed it. He also oversaw the best form we had - in January when Berg left.

We can all see he didn't quite move us on but you are forgetting that those cataclysmic problems off the field still go on. Why do Appleton and Berg get the benefit of the doubt but not GB?

Downgraded at the same rate as under Kean? Now I'm certain you've got memory issues because you've forgotten the mess that Steve, the owners, the agents and shebby left nearly put us in league one and potentially out of business.

Whilst it's obvious that this ownership have always caused downgrading in quality of staff, what's also obvious is that GB is the only one left pre venkies who has some semblance of a plan.

Keep biting away, keep kicking on for his removal. Foresight tells me and anyone with a memory that they will not replace him with better.

Ofcourse, they could do a complete 180 degree turn and start hiring quality staff.....

You've just proved my point, Joe. Those who have defended the club - at virtually every stage to be fair - now harp on about hindsight.

It wasn't hindsight at the time but I guess you will always be right.

It's not about attacking or defending anything Stuart, to me it's all about having a view of what's happened, what's happening and what may happen.

I still think GB is the best we will get under a structure of self preservation and ignorance. That's not to say he is the best we could get if someone we trusted was involved- ala JWilliams.

What do you honestly see happening if the fans get GB removed tomorrow? If you answer that question under the illusion that we'd get the best possible for our club then you're ignoring the general direction the club has taken since we where flogged.

Come on Gav ,you're not living in the real world on this, if the owners went tomorrow there is no Club that can start to recover, at least not what I would term a meaningful level. The only thing that can extricate us from the mess we're in is to secure promotion before the owners lose interest (unless another Jack Walker comes along tomorrow willing to instantly sink 200m into the Club and write it off.)

Trouble is they don't seem to have the first idea to go about it. Too much emphasis being put on the Chief Executive's position, that's almost neither here nor there if your manager isn't good enough. GB has shown himself not good enough imo and the only thing that will start to see us moving forward is a better manager. Then when the embargo ends the owners need to put in enough funding to make our budget competitive at this level, and allow the manager to make the footballing decisions.

If the argument is that a new Chief Executive is required to see the need to appoint a decent manager then fair point.

How long would you be happy for the debt to keep racking up ?

Even if Venkys go tomorrow the debt will still keep racking up. The simple fact is that the cost of running the club far outweighs any income we get in. If Venkys leave we still need an owner who will continue to fund the losses and cover the debt.

But that debt rising will come down not continue to rise there has to be a better rate of interest and way of restructuring the debt than paying the BOI rate

I thought it was Venky's, not the manager, who's to blame?

Even if Venkys left today, Rovers WOULD STILL NEED a owner who was willing to cover the losses of the club.

Our income doesn't cover our expenditure.

You can't be serious,

why do we employ oxygen thief's like Shaw Shaw, Sicknote and the bean counter then

It all depends how they left if they did. Calling in all their debt would ruin us of course but cutting their losses and bailing out wouldn't because a lot of the debt is owed to them directly so they may just write it off.
