How on earth can you amass 137 points in two seasons if we are consistently poor with and without the ball?

You can put whatever spin on the situation you want Jbizzle, but anyone that goes to games on a regular basis knows that we've been poor for large parts especially without the ball, we simply don't press the opposition.

We also lack fitness, which to be honest is a disgrace, its one thing players with limited ability should never lack, it adds an extra 10/15% to your game, look at Savage, never the best player in the world but he was fit and never gave up.

I saw somewhere else a post nominated for Message Board Gold - but this one should be too.

137 points over 2 Seasons..... Where do I start. OK lets settle for safe and stable and very very average. Not the promo push promised.

roverandout sums it up better.........Jordan Rhodes

40+ goals a season from the front two.

But how can you score 40 goals if the team you're playing in is constantly poor with the ball?

Gav, I've been a season ticket holder for over 25 years, a fan of football for even longer I believe that (whilst getting on a bit) my eyes work perfectly fine. I'm starting to tire of this implication that I "obviously" haven't seen it first hand.

What I actually said was how could be be consistently bad with and without the ball if we've amassed approx 1.3/4 points a game? Do you disagree? Do you think we've been poor with and without the ball for an entire two seasons?

I'm not saying we've been amazing, I'm saying what whoever I quoted was wrong.

Consistentcy is a huge is issue with this team. We go from looking good to looking scared in games, surely discussing the reasoning for that is more apt than just simply writing everything off because it doesn't meet your level of expectation.

As for the people saying JR... Well that quite simply sums up your understanding perfectly for me. Lest we forget the idiotic 90s jealousy from plastics who called us a one man team?

It's called lets hoof the ball up to our two strikers and hope for the best

But if (as a team) we are awful with the ball, how did we ever put it in the net?

Are you trying to say that we score goals "despite" the team?

Because while collectively we are poor, we still have quality in Rudy, Rhodes, Marshall, Conway, Cairney.

Who said you hadn't seen it first hand?

If you've had a season ticket for over 25yrs then that puts you around 35yrs old and by that age you should be able to have a decent debate without 'Starting to tire' of something thats not even happening, or at least not from me anyway.

So back on topic, we've been poor for the last 5yrs, you being a season ticket holder you should know that.

How many home games can you remember in the past 2 seasons where we've been very good? I can think of Bournemouth at home for 45 minutes, aside from that I'm struggling, Liverpool at home in parts would also be in there, Stoke and Swansea maybe?

That fact alone answers your question and not even the most loyal Bowyer supporter, of which I was one until the back end of last season, would argue with that.

All that said it doesn't mean Bowyers awful, its not as simple as that, but he's not good enough to take this side into the Premiership and thats what we need, well that along with a bl00dy miracle!

Thought I'd correct that before he gets upset, I'm not even 35 for a few years yet!

So he had a season ticket at 4yrs old?!

Half season ticket, and doesn't this season count?

Re read your posts to me over last week- remove the "anyone who's seen us" from them when addressing and I might not feel as patronised.

You need to lighten up a bit, not everyone on here is out to get you.

The problem you have is you've backed yourself so far into a corner that you now don't know whose friend or foe, so immodestly assume everyone is against you, well I’m not, as long as you lighten up.

Dearie me, I should lighten up???????

As opposed to the 95% doom and gloom content posters? Jeez. Also, it's never been about sides or agreeing, it's just having a view point.

I think we've been poor just as much as we've been good- hence the average point totals and inconsistency in games. This very much goes against the initial post which I asked a question about- it's not me defending my view point because I'm backed into a corner!

There you go again....

Jbizzle lets get back on topic, I asked how many very good Rovers home performances you could recall over the past 2 season, I gave you 4 at a push, can you remember many more?

Which season or both?

Both really.

Now "very good" is harder to define than you think. Whilst we may have only played out of our skin a handful of times, in the past 24 months I would count these games as ones we played "well" in;

2013/14

Derby Away, Bolton at Home, Barnsley at Home, Bournemouth away, Watford at home, Boro at home, Leeds at home, Millwall at home, Yeovil away, Leeds away, Boro away, Reading away, Hudds away, Watford away, QPR at home, Ipswich at home, Brum away, Charlton away and Wigan at home.

Out of them - real barnstorming performances - Bolton/Barnsley/Leeds/QPR/Ipswich and Wigan at home, Charlton, Bournemouth, Leeds, Boro, Reading, Hudds and Brum away.

2014/15

Good performances or "well played";

Cardiff, Bournemouth, Wigan, Watford Brum, Leeds, Charlton, Fulham, Rotherham, Bolton, Millwall and Ipswich at home

Blackpool, Fulham, Ipswich, Forest, Boro, Sheff wednesday, Charlton, Leeds away,

Barn stormers - Bouremouth at home, Wigan at home, Fulham away, forest away, leeds home and away and maybe one or two more (not including the stoke/swansea performances which where the best at home since 2010, and the liverpool away)

I will have also missed a few from memory and maybe got one or two games mixed up. I also make a habit of watching us on rovers player the week after we've played away, which gives a good insight into the difference in our performances, tactics and response away from Ewood.

I did say home games but you've given a fair assessment by adding away games too.

I must say I could go through most of the home games you've mentioned and pick holes, the vast majority were awful, but if you think we've played well in all those games then you're certainly getting value for money each week.

Boro away last season was a terrible performance, everyone concerned thought so, Preston Blue went as said the same, the keeper had a brilliant day but the rest of the side was awful, daylight robbery.

If you think that was a good performance then we have different standards and I’d certainly have to question the rest of your games based on that.

I can think of only a handful of good games at home over the past 2 seasons and I'd wager most other fans would agree with that.

Is that unusual?

I was carrying my lad over the turnstyles at 4yrs old Stuart.
