Well we know Gestede's price came down.

Desperation now creeping into Pune ?

The price quoted for Rudy has been £6m for weeks. Villa paid that, possibly a bit more. I actaully think they got him on the cheap but the price didn't come down.

If they sell Rhodes for £8m or less then you may have apoint that desperation is creeping in. How much did you say they'd both go for again? Was it £14m?

Round and Round in circles we go.

I will stick with what I have been told and am due to interview Derek Shaw and somepoint in next month or so and will ask him directly.

Will the Shaw interview be available on BRFCS podcast and will they been Podcast regulary during the season? I thought they would be a podcast last week to preview the week

Why don't you also ask Wheelock why he's reporting £6m flat ?

Let's hope Shaw manages to free his fingers from the fax machine in time !

Yup we aiming to release it as a podcast, just trying to pin him down to a date.

Weekly podcasts will be up and running soonish.

I'm not sure whether or not you're one of Mr Wheelock's many critics on here. I'll take from the above post that you are not.

Why don't you? I am not going to challenge Paul on stuff that he and the LT are reporting. I'll go to the man who should know when I interview him.

Oh he very much is but he has an agenda of total and utter doom and gloom so jumps on anything that helps back up that.

Even if it is £6 million it still represents a massive profit on what we paid for him, considering we were being offered £3 million for Rudy in the January transfer window and on the back of one phenomenal season it still represents decent business in the context of what we paid for him.

Based on other newspaper reports, including the Birmingham press, I have no reason to doubt that Wheelock is incorrect.

Also, what about Bowyer's 3000% mark-up ie £200,000 to £6,000,000 - are you telling me that Bowyer doesn't know the deal ? Think he's more likely to know than Shaw.

Well let's face it, we've had virtually bugger all to get excited about for the last 5 years.

As for agendas, you were quite happy to engage Philipl's doom and gloom over the auditors' resignation so don't peddle that nonsense.

You've backed Bowyer from the off and look what a mess we are in now.

Kamy can come on and verify if he wants to but my recollection is that he stated that he has a source in Pune who has been very reliable. This source has seen a document which confirms £6m and a further £2m to follow. Furthermore, this £2m is said not to be dependant on appearance, goals, international caps etc but is guaranteed. I accept that this may not have been reported elsewhere, I don't know, but Kamy is very credible.

As an aside, it does seem strange that Mr Wheelock gets all manner of stick on here but now his reporting is gospel.

i hope you're not suggesting that people pick and choose what they believe to suit their anti-Rovers,anti-Bowyer,anti-pasti agenda? That, sir, is an outrageous slur on the good burghers of BRFCS.

Errr no I wasn't, I clearly said that I did not understand these things and posted what Philip had sent to me and then posted something else that another accountant had said to me.

I like many others backed Gary Bowyer and even more so when we just missed out on promotion in his first season. I was critical of him last season and have already said on many many occasions that last year was a failure and he should have been sacked/resigned, but like many things you forget about that.

Came across as though you couldn't wait to post Philipl's doom and gloom scenario.

And you are not guilty of that ? Like many, I think your recollections are selective at times.

Again you are making assumptions without any shred of evidence,

I e-mailed the 2 accountants that I know, it just happened that Philip got back to me almost instantly, whereas the other accountant did so the next day.

Anyhow I am not going to get into a debate with you, it is pointless.

There's reported facts and there's transfer tales. Just like Venkys won't be railroaded into selling lol. Just like Samba wanted out and got his wish. Olsson wanted out and went. Gestede wanted out and got his wish. Rhodes wants out.......

And they say Venkys don't sell rattle throwers? If a prem club comes in for Marshal his dummy will be spat and eventually he will get his hypothetical wish.

Fat lot of use all 3 transfer fees have and will do us. Venkys are like every other owner in that respect. The players have the power.

Your opinion.

The feeling is mutual.

If you challenge, don't expect not to be challenged back though.

I find all this controversy about the fee very strange. As far as I can tell the only mention of anything above 6m is from Kamy and his source in Pune so either someone is spreading mistruths in an attempt to discredit those in situ at Ewood or the fee is actually 8m including installments and if I were Mrs. D. I'd be checking the paperwork and making darned sure those 500 k installments hit the Club's account on the dates they're meant to!

You can be a bit of a spikey character and I've no desire to get into a spat with anyone again but, in my opinion, that post was some desperate nonsense.

Chris, it was me who noticed the percentage error. Obviously MM would pick up on it but I'd already spotted it and thought it interesting enough to discuss.

You've candidly gone on to admit your thick, whilst subsequently discussing this subject in some detail. In light of that please be a tad more polite and don't describe me as Spikey or talking desperate nonsense.

Meanwhile admitting that percentages furrow your brow is the most humble post I have ever seen from you. Cheered ne up and increasingly I'm enjoying your posts. Thicko. ;)

May I ask. When did we just miss out on promotion under Bowyer?

Slight statistical point of order: 6 million is actually a 2,900% increase on $200k as the increase is 5.8 million, but we now have 3000% of our original stake money (we started with 100% of 200k)

It's a bit of a stretch to suggest that I've admitted to being thick. I'm not the best at maths but I've done ok for myself despite that and my job entails me preparing and presenting detailed legal reports. EIT's point of order might suggest that you could do with brushing up on your numeracy skills yourself.

As for your objection to being described as a 'spikey character' it looks as though I missed adding 'overly sensitive'.

I seem to have given you impression that I'm a bit of a big head which is a first for me. You haven't been slow in telling the forum that you own your own business more than once and I don't think I should have to take lessons in humility from someone who names their online persona after Jack Walker.

Judging by your recent haranguing of Thenodrog it seems as though you are setting yourself up as the Doom Monger's attack dog. That being the case we'll be crossing swords again soon, which will delight the other forum members and the mods.

In the meantime here's another point of order for you - "your thick" should read "you're thick".

Thicko.

:) at the end of the day it is a fabulous profit be it 6 or 8 million.

We all know Bowyer's maths are spot on. Lets get real there is no way he would have said those comments without being 100% sure of the maths. He would be a laughing stock if 1000 percent out. I'm just wondering if he had to ask for help or worked it out on his lonesome. (No criticism he's not required to be a maths expert. Wish he could understand though that if they score more than us we lose.)

Imagine the tee - shirts. 1000 percent? Or was that one percent?

I'd ask him what percentage difference between us and automatic promotion. That would get him scrabbling for his abacus, while shouting for the press officer and security.

I was joking. I thought the percentage mark up comment interesting. Simple as that. You called it desperate nonsense. Then admitted maths were not your strong point. I just find that a bit comical. I'm not trying to embarrass you.

I've used that name on a number of forums since 2000. I'm always amazed no-one takes it. It's the best possible name. Some have objected to me using it. I fully understand why. He's not just my memory. If enough asked me politely to change then I would. But id still like someone else to take it as it is simply the best user name available.

As to the rest, :). Chill out.

On topic sorry, what do you think Chris? Did Bowyer get his sums right?

I'm chilled. As for Gaz's sums I'll have to sit down with an abacus a brew. I'll try to get back to you before the Wolves game (the away one)
