JAL Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 The team has a shape, is interchangeable everyone seems willing to play for one another. Unfortunately the calibre of player seems to be holding Gary Bowyer back from achieving anything with Rovers if this drastically improved then who knows but for now its an handicap. Sadly Garys signings over the past twelve months have gone further backwards in terms of quality and capability. Is it any wonder that 80% of the supporter base have now lost faith. If the teams not set up to win the league then what is the point .........

onlyonejackwalker Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 and you had the nerve to ask me if i 'wanted the best for Blackburn Rovers' because i don't demonise Bowyer at every turn. We all write things we regret on here, and we all talk a load old shyte at times (i praised Appleton at one point!), but you held the same view 18 months ago as i do now. You've changed your mind, fair enough, but less of the outraged posts just because some of us haven't. Come now, 47'er is a real asset to the board. He's great at popping on every few weeks to insult people without ever really contributing to football discussions. What a guy! I'm very sorry to have rattled you so badly. Not sure what you think you've proved. In fact suprised you posted this after answering and explaining comprehensively in the survey thread. I don't regret a word I've said. Bowyer was a refreshing breath of fresh air from the previous stench. I genuinely hoped he would be the answer to our footballing woes. Within 12 weeks however our season was effectively over. Lasting damage defensively through indecision and poor choice regarding the most important position on the pitch. No wonder our back four struggled. An experienced manager would have started recruitment with a goalkeeper. Major howler. I don't dislike Gary Bowyer at all. What is there to dislike? You call a number of us haters and think it's adult. He can stay as long as he wants. Cuddle the under 18's, charm their mothers, molly coddle the new arrivals. I just want genuine quality in charge. The type you respect before they speak. Someone who gets these overpaid mercenaries busting a gut every week, without fail. Interestingly, so do you.
T J Hooker Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Ha edited one and left one ..no comment if only. was just a glitch with my phone if you really really really must know
T J Hooker Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 takes two to tango, I'll give you a rest though, I don't want to get you flustered in your state.
Mike Graham Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I planned to give GB 10 games last season and finished up giving him 12. He proved in that time he was the wrong manager for Rovers. I will give him 10 again this season (why, goodness only knows!!) but if he fails again and makes the same old basic tactical mistakes he must either fall on his sword or be shot.

I would bring back Bob Saxton, Don Mackay or Tony Parkes immediately.

A good shout. As good as GB is, I've always said he's not hard enough. My other gripe is that he rotates the squad like we're in the Champs League. Any fool knows that the best teams in any league use the fewest players and have few suspensions and injuries.
Rover_Shaun Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 10 ? No need the season will be over again by then . For all intents and purposes it's over now. As far as achieving what the balance sheet so desperately needs.

gumboots Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 The season. If nothing changes at the club next season is probably over in terms of a promotion push before it starts.
AllRoverAsia Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I thought this was the GB thread but it's the 'let's get really feckin depressed thread'' apart from MCMC and I vote for Bobby Saxton, my hero.
Rover_Shaun Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Depression or Venky sponsored realism? Maybe laughing gas should be free on prescription?

gumboots Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Living in Bangkok, you have no idea what it's been like. Whilst even in good times, I'm not the most cheerful and optimistic of fans, this really is beyond the norm. The football played at ewood by rovers last season was the most sleep inducing turgid rubbish I have seen in nearly 50 years of watching football. What makes you or anyone think that things will be any different next year without a major change of some kind at rovers? That's not depression. It is sorry fact. Do I wish it were different? Of course I do, but it's not and it's almost certainly not going to be.

MCMC1875 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 This should cheer us all up Ok, lets press on and get shut. Anyone else up for it?
Glosrover Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Couldn't disagree more. We need a manager with better acumen, better experience and better contacts. Do you think a Warnock or a Curbishley or a McCarthy wouldn't offer more than Bowyer? Bang on - the problem is finding a Manager with those attributes that hasn't got a better offer than going to Rovers. To put a name out there for discussion, what's happened to the guy that got Watford promoted then was replaced almost immediately. Has a track record of unexpectedly taking a club with a decent but erratic squad to promotion and seems to be able to tolerate interfering foreign lunatic owners............sounds perfect (which means he's probably already in another job).
