But we knew that Rev, what was there to joke about? What you said wasn't a joke, its in fact what normally happens. If O Sullivan was still 18 or 19 then okay fine, but goodness at 23, if you still unsure about him, then loan him out again or sell him.

Bowyer has change his formation and style of play from last season.

He also swap Marshall and Delfouneso positions yesterday after 35 ish mins and that lend to our goal.

Plus in the 1st 25 mins yesterday our new formation/style of play worked well yesterday. But we are trying to play differently to last season but this will take time to implement this.

The game lasts for ninety minutes plus not twenty five chaddy.

For those at the game or those who have watched David Raya some genune questions. Is he ready for the No. 1 keeper slot, is he ready for Championship level football and is he the best Keeper that Rovers have. The lad is still under 20 years of age and I'm concerned that he is perhaps being promoted too early. I haven't seen him play a full game live just highlights on TV which are useless for player assessment.

From a 'player value' perspective however each 1st team game he plays is a good thing but that can't be a factor can it?

He's only changed his formation on account of losing Gestede.

Four defenders, two holding midfielders, two wingers, Marshall in the Dunn/hole role, Rhodes as a lone midfielder (a job which he isn't suited to).

Not really much change. With Gestede injured last season we could easily have seen that formation in 2014/15.

Of course not, when have you ever heard the manager in an interview talk about... oh, wait...

Rhodes as a lone midfielder?

I guess you mean loan striker?

we are looking to pass the ball more and on Saturday you could see the different compare to last season.

Yes, striker.

Passing the ball more has nothing to do with formation. We did that for 10-20mins in the first half and then reverted to type. Bringing on Evans to partner Lowe was a very backwards move. Not to bad if you are trying to hold on to a result later on but not when we are 2-1 down and need to score.

Too negative.

He did ok but that's all and his kicking is a bit suspect. Although he does appear to have the makings of a decent keeper from what I've seen in the U21's I can't help getting the feeling there is a big cock up waiting to happen there. I went in early yesterday and watched him and Steele working with the keeper coach, this was 45 mins before kick off in nets in the corner of the BBE. Quite worrying that nearly every shot that the coach hit towards either side of him flew easily into the net, not so with Steele. He doesn't seem to have the timing of his dives spot on yet. The keeper coach has a hell of a left foot on him though, should come on and take free kicks :)

I notice you didnt say whether you attending the game on Satuday.

What Stupid formation?

We played a 4-2-3-1 formation like alot of teams do now in Football.

Stuart, Evans came on cos Guthrie was tiring due to joining us later in pre season.

But Guthrie will be a good signing this season. Good all round midfielder

Apologies if that's caused you any offence chaddy but following what someone else is doing with different personnel at your disposal isn't the answer to winning a football game when your not winning them.

We didn't make telling passes in critical areas though. Meaningless passes where it doesn't count. Hardly progress.

And? Does you attending make the team play any better?

You talk of new systems, players needing time to settle, GB playing a new way, but in truth we have just seen a typical conceed two at home Bowyer performance. Until the chosen one cares about clean sheets and learns how to achieve them we remain goosed. I read recently on here how intelligent Bowyer is. Let me tell you an intelligent man would have focused on his goalkeeper and defence 3 years ago.

I should imagine goals conceeded will almost mirror goals scored again all season at this club. Imperative we don't lose matches at home, imperative we get clean sheets, impossible to keep scoring three to win.

I don't think Chaddy is capable of snarling and bitching to be fair. Maybe a bit of a swipe at another, but when you've got folk dissecting every syllable of his posts it's probably little wonder he got hacked off.

Tbf, he praised how Bowyer's tactics/changes had us playing well for 30 mins in total. He conveniently forgot the 60 minutes where we weren't great shapes nor the fact that Bowyer switched Marshall back to a position where he was uncomfortable/poor after praising the 10 minute spell where he was played in a position that worked.

Jal merely pointed out a game is 90 minutes. It's inconsistent to lavish praise on Bowyer for making the changes that saw us play well for a brief period and yet carefully omit the part where he made the wrong changes, had us not playing well and got the formation wrong.

If Bowyer can only get it right for 1/3 of the game, that's a cause for concern in my eyes, not a cause for celebration.
