rovers11 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 What a legend!! On the pitch for less than two minutes, got sent off, stopped Burnley from winning. Welcome back, Lee.

Stuart Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Did well to catch up enough to grab hold of him. It's lucky he had only been on the pitch two minutes and was fresh because Ings is 10 years younger.
booth Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Shame he will be out for a few games now though. Better than the alternative of Burnley scoring a second though!
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 In all seriousness what a team player Burnley fans on twitter saying he should be banned for ten games
Backroom DE. Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 Pretty much every other player would have done the exact same thing, but yes, well done Lee.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Have no issues with what he did whatsoever. Just like Suarez at the World Cup. Took one for the team which involves a fine as well let's remember. Fair play to him. They must have been raging
Tugay-is-God Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 They tried to get the ball past Leeroy but he said no no no.

Amo Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 rosscarlisle @burnleyfc112m The lee Williamson deserves to never play a game again
Gav Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 rosscarlisle @burnleyfc112m The lee Williamson deserves to never play a game again Brilliant
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 Told you there would be a red Gav
Baz Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Todd Kane should pick up the fine for Williamson, it was his error. Said at the time it was a silly decision to take off Evans and put Williamson on in injury time, when he hasn't kicked a ball fir months. Just glad it didnt cost us the game. Williamson did the only thing he could to be fair.
Backroom DE. Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 I doubt Williamson will be fined. I would say it's a shame we can't transfer Williamson's ban onto Kane, but we have more cover in CM than RB so maybe not.
RevidgeBlue Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 To be fair we'd be absolutely livid as well if the boot had been on the other foot. Just disappointed we'll lose Williamson now for 3? games with it being a strsight red.
Amo Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 To be fair we'd be absolutely livid as well if the boot had been on the other foot. We didn't need the second goal as badly as they did.
RevidgeBlue Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 We didn't need the second goal as badly as they did. We'd still be highly peed off if we thought a bit of professional foul play or as I prefer to call it cheating by one of their players had cost us the win.

I would say it's a shame we can't transfer Williamson's ban onto Kane, but we have more cover in CM than RB so maybe not. I thought the fine comes from the FA/Football League though? I think I read once it's something like 8 grand for a red. Maybe 4?
Backroom DE. Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 I thought the fine comes from the FA/Football League though? I think I read once it's something like 8 grand for a red. Maybe 4? I was under the impression it goes to the club as opposed to the player, have to admit that's a total assumption based on nothing though!
RevidgeBlue Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Its 1 game for a professional foul. Oh ok, I thought it was 3 games for a straight red and one for 2 yellows. I think it should be really. At only one game ban there's no reason at all not to commit a professional foul. Starting from next week of course!
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 We'd still be highly peed off if we thought a bit of professional foul play or as I prefer to call it cheating by one of their players had cost us the win. How is it cheating? He committed a red card foul and got a red card He didn't try and decieve the ref and took his punishment
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Did what he had to do and took one for the team, well done Lee.
RevidgeBlue Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 How is it cheating? He committed a red card foul and got a red card He didn't try and decieve the ref and took his punishment It's cheating because you're comitting a deliberate foul with no intention whatsover of trying to win the ball. Most of the time you're trying to win the ball legitimately. It will happen against us at some point later in the season probably. But fir today, well done to Williamson for taking one for the team and probably saving us a point like SKH says.
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 I wouldn't say any time a player loses his man and holds him or pulls his shirt its cheating but can see what you mean
