Tyrone Shoelaces Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 It's cheating because you're comitting a deliberate foul with no intention whatsover of trying to win the ball. Most of the time you're trying to win the ball legitimately. It will happen against us at some point later in the season probably. But fir today, well done to Williamson for taking one for the team and probably saving us a point like SKH says. I'd have said the same thing thirty years ago. Times have changed !

Stuart Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I'd have said the same thing thirty years ago. Times have changed ! I agree. The professional foul is so much a part of the Premier League era that it can hardly be considered cheating any more.
Hekla Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 What a guy. I cheered when he did it, I knew he would be sent off but he did the right thing.
bob fleming Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 In all seriousness what a team player Burnley fans on twitter saying he should be banned for ten games Ha ha ha ha ha!! etc ! To be fair we'd be absolutely livid as well if the boot had been on the other foot. Just disappointed we'll lose Williamson now for 3? games with it being a strsight red. We'd still be highly peed off if we thought a bit of professional foul play or as I prefer to call it cheating by one of their players had cost us the win. That's right rev, right up there with Morten. What a ba$tard eh? Almost like he cared.
Jimbobololo Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Hero. Loved how he hurried back to the bath "in shame".
Lhrover Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Deserves a Knighthood for that red, reminded me of the legendary Robbie Savage

Speaking of cheating, if you check the replays Ing's could have easily stayed on his feet but chose to throw himself on the floor so that Williamson would get sent off. In his head somewhere he obviously thought that was more important than being one on one with the goalie. Just throwing that one out there.
Waggy76 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Alan Shearer wouldn't have gone down ! I think he was waiting for the foul... There is no guarentee Ings would have scored ... Standing Ovation for Williamson on his return , take a bow son !

stuwilky Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 How is it cheating? H You dont get given a red card for adhering to the laws of the game. Best red card ever.
RockinRover Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 As Ings was breaking through I started yelling at the screen (I was out all day so recorded the game and avoided the score) "take him out!" and no, not in a violent way and no part of me thought he actually would. Then he did, so I just clapped.
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 You dont get given a red card for adhering to the laws of the game. Best red card ever. I don't see every foul as cheating though Stu You may be waiting a while for Ince out as well he's doing a good job
arbitro Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 In all seriousness what a team player Burnley fans on twitter saying he should be banned for ten games Burnley fans taking the moral high ground? These are probably the same idiots who celebrated when Ball committed a career ending challenge on Dunn. And on the subject of them what makes grown men want to high five Bertie Bee? What a strange breed they are.

Colt Seavers Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I am not a person to ever exaggerate; but lee williamson is the greatest hero in the history of blackburn rovers! His heroism caused me to break my second longest spell as a teetotaller since 1988! (12 days)! Good work lee.
ABBEY Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Gonna treat myself to a shirt I think with Williamsons name on and the number 0-ff

Bucksrover Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 To the tune of grant hanley's chant - 'he's got a big head'. Williamson can have 'he took a good red' Legend
Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2013 Backroom Posted September 14, 2013 Never a red Get the appeal in
RevidgeBlue Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Never a red Get the appeal in Calm down. Wouldn't that lead to the possibility of the ban being increased? To the tune of grant hanley's chant - 'he's got a big head'. Williamson can have 'he took a good red' Legend Like it.
arbitro Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 So is it a 1 or a 3 game ban??? Definitely one match.
