Bowyer was also not happy with the assistant referee's decision to award Wanderers third goal. He added: "We had to put three up front and have a go at it at half-time. But the timing of the third goal and for the linesman to see that the ball has gone over the line from his position if you see his position, he's got some eyesight. "But congratulations to him because he got it right, though. I must ask him where he goes for his eye tests."

..? What's that about?

Journalistic spin there if you ask me. Bowyer never says he was not happy with the assistant. He's actually complimenting him. However the journo has put a different slant on it by adding the opening sentence.

Chaddy...I mention Venkys because er everything that has happened over the past few years and what is happening now is down to them ,is it not?

Correct me if I'm wrong. The buck stops with them.

So yes I will mention the scumbags.

I WILL TELL YOU THIS ,ID TAKE A 10-O TONKING OFF THE DINGLES IF IT FORCED THEM OUT.

Completely 100% agree with the post and I wish others would remember this every time they start spouting their opinion about how "it's time for a change of manager"

Bowyer signed a 12 months rolling contract which means he still have 12 months left on his contract today.

a lot of managers signed a 12 months rolling contract these days.

I think Hughes signed a 12 months rolling contract when he first join Rovers as manager in September 2004

Are you saying he is permanently on 12 months notice, there must be an anniversary date

Some need to brush up on 12 month rolling contracts.

They have an anniversary date that are automatically renewed unless either party decides not to.

On Bowyers anniversary we will finally have an answer as to whether the owners are stil interested.

Renew - disinterested

Repeal - still harbour notions of promotion

Our current injury crisis to decent midfielders has barely been mentioned, Cairney, Evans, King, Dunn, Marshall, Etuhu (spit), that could easily be our strongest midfield! We also have new signing Conway just settling in. That left us Lowe, the hopeless Williamson, Taylor, Dabo and a bunch of kids. I'm not sure what else GB can do with that lot as they are squad players at best IMO, apart from Lowe who can do a job in MF and could be our RB when our best MF's are fit.

The issue that we haven't got a CH to cover Hanley is more concerning. My gut feeling is that the finances are too tight to loan any more players as we do have a large squad (albeit a squad without quality in depth), and we are suffering with players wages we are paying that have been loaned out/not playing.

I'm guessing we simply cannot afford this wage bill, and GB has a budget to work with.

If we can shift the huge wage earners off the bill, keep the hungry, promising players and add to them in summer then that must be the way forward.

Trouble is 10-0 beating wouldn't force them out. That's the position we're in unfortunately.

So what's the difference between a 12 month rolling contract and a normal 12 month contract?

I always thought a 12 month rolling contract was one where there was no end date on the contract but 12 months notice had to be given by either party should they leave.

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/business-english/rolling-contract

So Bowyer always knows that he will get 12 months pay anytime Venkys decide to get shut and Venkys know it will only ever cost them 12 months pay should they want to get shut.

That is Bowyers problem he is paid to sort that out .

I do not think he knows his best team ..Injuries are an excuse , why no back up centre half on the books ?

Try bad management !

I think the owners will back Bowyer for next season. personally so would I. I'm sure that Bowyer has told the owners his plans and how long it will take to get the club challenging for promotion.

don't know why fans expect a massive turnabout in 8 months after 3 years of massive turmoil before this season.last season, we appointed 3 permanent managers and almost got relegation. This season we have has stability and if we finish top 10 then that's is good season. off course I would like us to get promotion this season, but I think its a year too early for this current playing squad. we have a good 16/17 man squad but need to add 4 or 5 signings in the summers and use a couple of Academy players in next season squad like Jack O'Connell and O'Connor plus Anton Forrester aswell. then I think we would stand a very good chance of promotion next season.
