this season was about stability surely???

It seems from Bowyer comments today in the LT that Stability and cutting the wage bill was the aim this season.

After watching tonight performance it was awful. so many useless long balls and no keep the ball and passing to feet. we defo missed Marshall and Cairney again tonight. didnt understand y take off Gestede who was our best player tonight.

we arent playing to Rhodes strenghts either.

Not now Chaddy lad, log off and relax. It could get nasty if you don't. (As admirable as your optimism can be).

I'm afraid to say that I'm now in the Bowyer Out camp.

Tonight they were rubbish. Flat. Gutless. Disinterested. Expected a reaction after Sunday, but nope.

Even more gutted tonight than I was Sunday tbh. They've given up.

i'm fine thanks guys.

tonight game was truly awful.

i think we are in for long stay in championship whoever is manager.

if Bowyer was to go then I would want either Grayson or Mowbray or McLeish. I wouldnt mind Kenny Jackett from Wolves but there is no way he would leave them for us.

would any of those do a better job then Bowyer I dont think they would tbh.

tonight we missed Cairney's passing abality and King's pace plus Marshall aswell.

we arent the same team without them.

I wasn't there tonight but I've lost patience with him. To judge from the comments on here and elsewhere Bowyer has run out of ideas and seems to have lost the dressing room.

Get rid at the end of the season and get Mackay to take his place.

if that was the plan i would send bowyer back to the reserves and get mackay in now. that gives him to the end of the season

to assess the players and see who he would like to get for next season.

Oh, I don't know, Chaddy - by all accounts we were a shambles with King and (less frequently) with Marshall, too. Don't blame injuries too much. There are 11 supposedly decent players on the pitch against 11 others who often aren't as good but play better as a team and are better coached.

Great, but we can't bemoan what we haven't got. Injury after injury, yet GB has licence to bring in new players. All that means is massive shift in team selection. Hence the fact we never have a settled team, and so ready excuse for poor performance after poor performance. Come out say we are consolidating - but he can't, as he has to give the owners the illusion we're are doing ok, not screwed. Why would they continue to bank roll us after another average season?

Heard a rumour before the Burnley kick off that the club was looking to just open the lower tiers of the ground for next season. if so what plan do they really have for progress and ambition of the club ?

That interview tonight after he game was straight out of jeans book of @#/? ...

He had a pop at fans for not raising players

He said robbo had only one save all night

How well we paid for the FIVE mins

How we are still in the play off hunt

I'm just glad this week has taught me more to life than football otherwise I'd be on a rant all night but ATM I don't give a toss.

And if I heard it wrong I apologise my heads in bits

Nope that's enough. I still think Bowyer is doing a decent job in terms of putting together a promising young squad and creating a viable basis for a potential promotion push next season BUT tonight was an absolute must win game. Failing a win a barnstorming performance where we were denied by a dodgy ref, fantasy goalkeeper and hideous misfortune.

An insipid 0-1 after losing to Bolton and then Burnley is a step too far. Replace him either now or the after the season ends but keep him on in the youth setup.

Abbs, the club is in chaos, until the idiots speak we know F all, other than that we have our club, and it still exists in name. There is still a huge question as to whether the Loons will continue to bank roll us as they don't seem to have any idea as to the direction we are going (down)!

I wouldn't say overall there's any evidence to suggest we're going backwards. At worst we're in the same position as this time last season, which considering the massive transition in squad isn't exactly a catastrophe.

None of us know the true situation of the club financially so there's little point speculating over whether this season, next season or the season after is "promotion or bust". All I know is I'd rather watch Rovers in the Championship than League One, and I think if Venky's spin the wheel again there's a big chance we'll end up in the latter and a very slim chance they'd hire somebody who could get us into the Premiership.

Last season though we had Berg and Appleton taking 16 points from 21 games, the other 3 managers actually did significantly better than that. Where's the excuse this season? No terrible managers dragging us down, no Venkys blundering around. Just Bowyer and the signings he's made.

Paul Ince inherited a squad in transition from Mark Hughes and did rubbish with it. Big Sam got hold of it and did pretty much as well as Hughes had from his first week in charge. Talking about transition is just making excuses.

We don't know the total financial situation of the club but we know all the essential facts because they're obvious. Our revenue in the PL was about £50m a year, our revenue out of it is about £25m, £16m of which are parachute payments. So either our wages come down massively or we lose a lot of money, and when the parachute payments reduce, the wages have to come down massively again. Wages = quality. Every season we don't get promoted, it gets harder next time.

To be honest it doesn't make much difference to me whether we're in the Championship or League 1. Tonight had the quality of a League 1 game (possibly League 2) and the atmosphere to match. Once again I'm gripped with black humour at the memory of all those fans who said they'd "rather watch Rovers in the Championship than endure Allardyce's football".
