thenodrog Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Couldn't agree more. People moan about lack of experience but it's his first job for goodness sake. Of course he is inexperienced. Even, Ferguson and Clough had to start somewhere. People seem to think that an experienced manager is a guaranteed ticket to success. Well I'm not sure QPR fans think that at the moment and they have probably the most experienced manager in the division.Lots of people calling for an 'experienced' Manager but without offering and suggestions. So assuming any managers of clubs above ourselves probably wouldn't be interested in managing BRFC below is a list of Championship managers with significant experience whose clubs are out of the top six at the moment and most whose club is below us in the division. Billy Davies Dougie Freedman Lee Clark Danny Wilson Eddie Howe Brian McDermott Ian Holloway Nigel Adkins Stuart Gray Experience is no guarantee of success is it?

Is Martin Olsson some kind of management jinx?...Ince, Allardyce, Kean( well it should've been) Appleton, Berg and now Hughton...
Guest Norbert Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 They'd already be relegated if they had Roger Johnson.

Howard Kendall became our manager with no experience to speak of and got us promoted in his first season and took us within a whisker of promotion to the First Division in his second season. Quite simply he knew how to win football matches. Eddie Howe had no experience and he achieved a footballing miracle at Bournemouth in his first spell. Experience looks good on a CV but sometimes a fledgling manager just has the knack of getting results.
Guest Norbert Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I may add that Sean Dyche has about 3 season's worth of managerial experience now. Some people are just naturals, some need a few years to develop and others are just rubbish. Bowyer is either the second, or the third.

He had a reputation as a tactician before he ever arrived at Ewood. I read it in the LET!
USABlue Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Interesting how this thread hasn't seen any action after a comfortable 2-0 win Well done to Mr Bowyer for matching a manager with vastly more experience. Considering how often you're reviled as a tactical dunce on here it's nothing short of a miracle That's easily fixed. Just name it the bowyer gripe thread. Personally I sometimes wonder if GB hasn't just managed the team with self preservation in mind. Doing just enough to keep the lunes off his back but avoiding the poisined chalice that is the prem. Lots of newly promoted managers find themselves un employed after only a couple of months.
