Rover_Shaun Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Bonkers. Despite his keanisms and lack of experience he is dealing with a squad that he has actively had to dumb down and we are exactly where the squads skill level dictates.
FGS5635 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Holloway would be the prefect fit...bonkers manager, with bonkers owners On a serious note...no no no and another almighty no
den Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Wouldn't put it past 'em. They know this season is sh1t or bust.
FGS5635 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Would be the final nail in the coffin for alot of fans that.
Backroom Mike E Posted November 11, 2013 Backroom Posted November 11, 2013 I'll be honest I wouldn't say no to Holloway. 2 promotions isn't bad. But at the same time I'd be loathe to lose the beacon of sanity (this weekend apart) that's Bowyer :/ Come to think of it, maybe a bonkers charismatic man-child is what we need. Glad I'm not on the board or anything.
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Proven track record of getting teams promoted but obviously he has struggled when he has got into the top division. As we are a club with huge financial problems if Holloway would guarantee promotion but also relegation the following season I would take it. Would I take him over Bowyer? Absolutely. However I just can't see there being any real truth in this story as I would be very surprised if he would want to come here. We are probably going to see more stories and rumours like this in the coming months if Rovers don't look anywhere near promotion bound and Venky's are getting desperate.
Backroom Tom Posted November 11, 2013 Backroom Posted November 11, 2013 Would be stupid to get rid of him and would have my sympathy but I suppose he knew what he was getting into with the role Change isn't needed IMO but if it is now or never then maybe someone will be getting an itchy trigger finger

Amo Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Mediocre start + trigger happy owners + out of work Holloway = unsubstantiated rumour.
tomphil Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 They will never ever hire an experienced manager. If Bowyer got the shove they'd probably just put Short charge for a bit whilst they argued amongst themselves and made a bit of coin from the betting market again with the numerous people linked before appointing some long odds no mark.
Muddboy Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Holloway is a logical appointment for any number of clubs chasing promotion out of the Championship – BUT NOT US! Can you imagine him sharing any kind of common ground with the owners? Never in a month of Sundays. It would be a car crash of horrific proportions.

Exactly. How many times do the owners have to balls things up before people realise these people couldn't make a good decision if their lives depended on it?
rovers11 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Don't see this rumour being true. Bowyer has overhauled the playing squad in the summer and has got us moving in the right direction with a decent young team. Can't expect miracles. You can't expect him to take a side that nearly got relegated last season and then reduce the wage bill and expect us to be promotion certainties. We are outside bets for promotion and being 5 points off the play offs suggests we are where we should be with our squad. Top 10 this season and Bowyer will have done a remarkable job. Is Holloway a better manager than Bowyer? Two promotions on a shoe string budgets suggests yes he is.
chaddyrovers Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Andrew Cryer @andrew_cryer 4m Before the rumour mill starts and I expect it might have done come tomorrow - Bowyer and Shaw in India for planned meeting. Nothing sinister Andrew Cryer @andrew_cryer 2m First meeting has gone well. Discussing transfer window after recent accounts and the way forward.Gary & Derek are told Rhodes NOT for sale

LDRover Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Looks like Shaw's going to have to look at saving more money on chairs if he can't sell Rhodes.
FGS5635 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 We could save a freaking fortune if everyone would stop flying to india
chaddyrovers Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 This is from Kamy on twitter Gary Bowyer and Derek Shaw were meant to be in Pune for a 'hush, hush' meeting but nothing ever stays secret with Venky's. Nothing to worry about. Bowyer give owners an update, talking about January transfer window and get reassurance that Rhodes not for sale. This was is NOT an emergency or crisis meeting. It was pre-planned. they wanted to keep it quiet because worried about press twisting it to something else and fans getting annoyed. I have been waiting for the Holloway link to Rovers manager job since he left Palace. surprised it took this long to be honest
Proudtobeblue&white Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Yes, ma'am, going well ma'am, I'm enjoying my £150,000 per year, ma'am, cracking set of shelves holding up the debt ma'am, this is our manager ma'am - it's not Coco, but he's reet good. We're 13th, that's nearly as good as Dingles, and they're not even in the Champions League, or Premier League and they haven't got Blingy backer, but Gazza is tops, and cheap, no not that Gazza, the one at AA, but please believe me ma'am, I think we are as good as up. Just keep believing......it's all going to plan......blah bloody blah
Rover_Shaun Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Do Venkys not know that THEY CAN COME HERE? Maybe even see the last 20 minutes of a game too
Amo Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Do Venkys not know that THEY CAN COME HERE? Maybe even see the last 20 minutes of a game too I don't think Mr. Desai has been able to leave the house since Snowballgate.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Do Venkys not know that THEY CAN COME HERE? Maybe even see the last 20 minutes of a game too It's nearly Winter, and there's snow, and that makes balls, and balls are involved in football (and sometimes get thrown at me husband), and we don't understand football, so no, we'll give it a miss, and Degsy has it sussed, and they come here and it's first class, and they say yes to everything, so what's the point. And we have sky, BT, and we can watch the exciting PL stuff, and we just love our baby.....blah blah
