Bowyer say in today's Daily Telegraph: "the owners are very supportive". "Mrs Desai is a lovely lady".

Sounds more and more like that twerp Kean every day, he clearly knows what side of the bread is buttered!

"Great article" my ar$e.

Just the usual managerspeak for me.

:wstu:

How smarmy are you two? What tf is he supposed to say? In fact what would you two have said? Never mind quoting just the last couple of sentences cos this is what he was reported to have said.....

“The owners want to reduce the wage bill but they are very supportive of signings we are bringing in,’’ continued Bowyer. I CAN FIND NO PROBLEMS WITH THAT. “They are ambitious. They would love the club back in the Premier League. They understand a lot more now that it is going to take some time. Step by step." I'M SURE THEY DO NOW. “They got some bad press when they first arrived. TRUE AND THEY DESERVED IT. I can only take them as I find them. They’ve been very supportive of me, very positive. FROM MY POSITION THIS APPEARS TO BE THE CASE. Madame Desai is a lovely lady. I speak to Madame Desai on the phone and we communicate by email." DO YOU TWO KNOW ANY DIFFERENT? GOOD MANNERS IS SOMETHING INDIANS DO VALUE. SHE/THEY keaned UP BIG STYLE ON THE BACK OF GUIDANCE FROM A COUPLE OF SPIVS ON THE MAKE TAKE. . A HARD LESSON TO LEARN BUT SINCE THE SUMMER THEY HAVE ACTED PROPERLY IMO . THE AIR IS CLEARING NOW THAT THE STENCH OF DASTARDLY AND MUTTLEY IS GONE.

As an old chap once said to me 'everybody makes mistakes, it's why they put rubbers on the end of pencils'. Bowyer is playing the game cos he has too in public and it would serve no positive purpose to gob off churlishly about the owners at this stage. All that counts is what is done on the pitch.

I don't like my boss, but if you publicly asked me, (and I wanted to keep my job) My answer is hardly going to be "he's a total bellend, way out of his depth"

I know the Raos have made some absolute ridiculous decisions, but ultimately they still own the club - and until they decide to sell, they will be choosing the staff and making the decisions. Thank god we no longer seem to be the victim of "consultation".

If you are a bit too "abbey", and you can't get your head round this - I'm not sure what to suggest. Personally, I'd rather get back to enjoying my team play, especially when the current back-room staff have seemed to put some pride on the pitch.

The alternative is perpetual "sulking" - and the banging of ones head against a wall.

A bit too abbey ? Is being me meaning I can see what the VENKYSCUM have done ?

Oh my old boss was a scumbag and I told everyone and got a nice promotion at the end.

Carry on snivelling or stand up and tell it how it is.

I know how I was brought up.

Nice article that by HW, and i cant understand why anybody would have an issue with it. Things could have been alot worse right now, but thankfully its not going too bad right now. What happens to the club will only be known come the end of the season, but until then, we should continue to press on in the same manner as against Leeds.

Thing is Preston Blue, despite all of our completely justified hatred of venky's they do seem to be letting Bowyer get on with things with absolutely no interference. They also seem to have let him bring in his own players.

So I suppose I can see why he's ok with the owners.

Bowyer would be better staying clear of talking about the owners, it's not difficult to avoid the questions.

Preston blue is right, his comments sound just like Keans and no amount of success on the pitch will ever convince the fans that the owners have the best interests of the club at heart, they've destroyed the club and plenty of the fan base.

Only one problem - avoiding questions about the owner is a story in itself for "journalists". For the last 6 months all has been quiet on that front and if it takes Bowyer answering questions and replying in a polite and politically acceptable manner (and from his perspective it is quite possibly only telling the truth - in fact certain comments chastised them for their naivety regarding promotion) to kill any negative press then i for one am quite happy.

Sometimes you have to swallow your pride and avoid going all Brian Clough on your employers/superiors and be nice about these pillocks in order to get a job done.

For all his great work making everyone happy he needs to work on discipline

Not the first time players have argued on a pitch and won't be the last. However do agree that in consecutive games to happens shows a pattern emerging and needs to be dealt with.

Spot on. Great article till the bit about the owners.

And no slagging them off is not an option, but there are other options than infuriating the fans by saying how great the owners are. For example, the owners let me run things here, so let's focus on here, or I'd rather not talk about the owners. Not rocket science. All it does is lower his standing with fans.

Disagree completely. Maybe he is just saying it as he finds them and really they've supported manager since Allardyce to the hilt in player recruitment.

It was a marvellous article about Bowyer and the bit about the owners was mildly encouraging as Bowyer didn't give the impression that they're going to slope off leaving us in mountains of debt. If they do GB'comments would look rather daft

From that I infer they you didn't see the incident. This wasn't an 'argument', it was bullying by a bigger, stronger kid on a smaller, weaker one.

Do think over the past few weeks some have been far too harsh on Bowyer - he clearly cares about the club and no one is perfect.

Of course he can improve but appears to be doing a pretty decent job.

As opposed to considering any critique as you have, in isolation, consider most were saying it in relation to the financial situation the club faces or potential ruin if we don't go up.

Well done for resting players today GB, it was a good call.

My view is that there are a lack of decent managers out there - Bowyer has done a decent job to date, perhaps an alternative manager could be doing better, but need to give him credit on what he's done so far overall considering the problems we have with wages/finances.

IMO, some have been too harsh on their views and the underlying hatred of our owners doesn't help.

Not saying he shouldn't be open to criticism on tactics etc.

All the managers that have been appointed since Allardyce was sacked have told us how good the owners are, when in reality they've been living in cloud cuckoo land, sanctioning player purchases behind the managers backs and sending the club into the oblivion!

Bowyer should stop talking about them in my opinion.

Bowyer's on the Venky's payroll and he'll say the right things to keep his employers sweet and himself in a job. I don't really see anything untoward in his comments, anyway. People need to develop a thicker skin and spot spitting feathers because he won't condemn them to hell and back.

Excellent artice and give an insight into the huge rebuilding job Bowyer has undertaken.

Get rid of the ego's

Rebuild confidence and morale

Re engage with the fans.

Reduce the wage bill

Refloat a sinking ship

Detach the club from the agents clutches.

Move on from the Shebby fiasco

Redevelop a game plan.............still work in progress

Save us from relegation

Get us back into the top half of the championship.

Not a bad effort all round and certainly deserves more support from the fans in terms of attendances now.

As regards the owners I think they must feel very humbled. They chose badly and acted badly. More water needs to go under the bridge yet but at some stage if Bowyer is succesful then the frostiness may thaw. bowyer is right to say he takes them as he finsds them. They have certainly backed the manager this week in difficult circumstances so credit for that. Life is too short to be embittered forever but I agree now is not the right time yet.for the bridge building. Hopefully Bowyer can begin the process though.

In all seriousness, although I would prefer him not to talk them up, he may simply be using the media to manage them.

I certainly don't expect him to slag them off or name the damage they have done. That would be counter productive. I do reserve the right to cringe though...

There are an increasing number of positives at the club - bowyer being one of them (his fondness for 2 defensive midfielders aside.)

Those who can't forgive Venky's could just focus their efforts on being positive about bowyer or the young and improving team, rather than repeatedly whining about how bad Venky's were and how they can never forgive them.

Spot spitting feathers? Ok I'll take a peep outside ...;)
