I questioned Venkys judgment and/or integrity as much as the next guy, but surely its clear they've remarkably improved their performance this year as compared to the last two?

They've made very poor decisions. But is appears Venkys are learning and they are improving and building a real team from the ashes of what they (or those they trusted) destroyed. The only question mark I still have next to their name is Derek Shaw's continued employment.

So we can spew venom over what has gone on in the past, or we can focus on continuing to improve matters. I know which I prefer.

I agree in part Steve. Well, on the evidence I'd actually say I agree entirely with you. They have been considerably better this season. But I still have this lingering doubt that they still have it in them to bugger it all up again at a moments notice. Even if we were flying high in the promotion places I would be wary of a knee jerk decision from Pune.

As for those who talk of forgiving and forgetting. Well Blackburn isn't my home town, its only my football club. Heaven knows if it was I know where I'd stand. I haven't had the misfortune to have my own or my family's employment opportunities affected by a failing football club which the town relies upon. In my humble opinion the bare minimum this lot should do to atone for the mistakes is keep the club in existence. Anything less than that they will sink even lower in my estimations.

Its quite simple really. Until we're mid table in the PL, making small but essential operational losses, with a manager competent enough to keep us in the division, a side capable of competing, a board who are qualified to do their job, and a fan base who are only entitled to grumble about the style of football we play, then they will be falling short. Achieve those targets and they break even. I'm not an unreasonable man. I'll forgive if not forget.

So, why are they still here?

You'd have to ask them, though like I said, I have no idea what they're gaining from their ownership of the club.

Though answering correspondence isn't their strong point from what I can gather....

There have been that many things speculated about over the last three years, someone has probably been right!!

We go under because of them.

We are revived because of someone else coming in.

I refuse to be grateful to people who screwed this club up.

And if nobody comes in to rescue us? Sadly, until we have a buyer who is prepared to take on the massive debt and continue funding the club we need the money that the present owners are putting into the club. Once they stop the club goes under and it may not survive in a form that we recognise. Nobody is grateful to these clowns but, for the moment at least, we need their financial backing simply to keep going. At the moment we have to be pragmatic about it until something better comes along. The only thing that matters is that the club survives.

I really don't think any fans mind any fans making criticism of Bowyer at all.

but fans need to remember that Bowyer is in his first full season as a permanent manager and is learning by his mistakes game by game.

yesterday, he made a positive change during the second half by bring on 2 proper wingers in King and Conway and taking Dunn and Taylor off.

plus he has massive overhauled the playing squad which was massive needed plus the club having to cut the wage bill and bringing in players on cheaper wages and younger players. The squad is now gelling now and I think that we a good chance of making the playoffs and getting that 6th place BUT I think that next season we have a better chance of going up and the major of the squad would have played together for full season. just like the Leicester City have done by having the major of the squad together for more than a season and now top the league.

I really hope that the owners don't sack Bowyer if we don't go up and stand by him and allow him the chance of us getting promotion the season after this one.

I don't think people's views on them are too far apart.

I don't think any fan has forgiven or forgotten. Personally I just see them as a necessary evil and I worry that if we keep giving them stick and staying away from matches they will pull the plug.

Bowyer has done good things this season and seems to have their ear. I just think the best thing we as fans can do for the club is try and back bowyer and build a bit of positivity about, within and around the club. Rather than focus on how venkys messed up.

I understand what you are saying but I think the emphasis may be wrong, something is stopping/preventing them from leaving, in my opinion

That's the sixty four thousand dollar question Yoda, it's unfathomable.

That said, although the situation is very much of their own making, I'm in the camp that thinks without their ongoing financial backing, the club would cease to exist.

Like I posted, something is stopping them, you know something about company law, care to speculate

I agree with that. This entire time, there has been something that just doesn't add up.

Unless you know of a better owner waiting in the wings (who didn't materialise for the years we were up for sale) i would suggest p'ing off the people who can close our club down is stupid.

SO YOU WANT US TO BLOW SMOKE UP THEIR ARSES AND MASSGE THEIR EGO......

AYE AW REET

We are just one of their countless commodities, hopefully/presumably some make them millions, others don't (us), one subsidises the other, we are not a priority. We just tick over till they are bored?

Or, they may be @#/? worried that if they pull the plug the UK authorities may try to prove miss-management, end of the future Venky franchise in the UK if that happens. (and possibly in Europe)

I would speculate it's more to do with pride and financial rather than legal, not necessarily in that order.

6 months ago (probably still now), they didn't have a saleable asset. To have jumped ship they would have probably lost their 'loans' in addition to whatever else they have invested and one of the founder members of the Football League with 138 years heritage would probably have gone to the wall under their 'stewardship'.

I can only guess they are now trying to do their utmost to try to remedy the situation but who knows.

You may be right, but the financial is linked with my post above, so that could be some big @#/? on the horizon for them

What, with our FA? No chance, wouldn't bat an eyelid! No-one interested but us!

By authorities I meant HMCR, if they get the hump over unpaid debts they can be very inquisitive

We are 5 points behind 6th place, the teams above us are playing better than we are and certainly scoring more freely. There are teams just below us with 2 games in hand. I don't see how you can say we have a GOOD chance of making the top 6. A slim chance I'd say.

If we kept this squad and could add quality to it in key areas over the summer then I would feel quite optimistic about next season. But then we come back to Venkys! Have they ever been that sensible?

I think they're just too financially tied up in this thing to simply wash their hands of it. Also, when the slim prospect of getting back on the PL gravy train could net them enough to wipe out the club's debts and then some, you could see why they'd want to have another stab at this thing before they cut their losses.

If there's been any impropriety you would guess that emphasis has been on keeping payments to HMRC up to date for that reason.

To quote your signature Yoda 'one day.............'

None of it has ever made sense.

But hasn't that idea stalled on the back of their PL disaster! Can't see them having a market bearing in mind their PR - would be trashed in East Lancs!

Are you sure, in dingle land it would be a smash hit
