Your a businessman, you know other business people, would they continue doing what the lunes are doing?

No but nor would I have got involved in the first place, never mind run it in a way that makes Ricky Gervais look like Richard Branson.

I've seen many in Las Vegas chasing their losses though!

They don't, they're not a listed company. Venkys own 99.9% of share capital. As they've no previous they'd just get a rap on the knuckles from DTI. Creditors meeting might prove interesting and enlightening however, let's seriously hope it doesn't get to that.

That would be Venkys London

That is just as bad, you have been told a million times to stop exagerating

Is that intentionally ironic?

Of course it is....... That saying dates back decades. Where've you been?

All the money we are leaking is down to THEIR daft decisions tho.

It is indeed Abbey. But people do make mistakes ........ and that is why they put rubbers on pencils. ^_^

We can't move on until they leave, that's the whole point.

They'll end up making Rovers' bankrupt surely? The credit line must be ever-increasing, they'll run out of assets to pledge against it. tolerance.

More like, and quite possible too. I'd bet the venkymob and Abbeys have one thing in common.............. they'd both dearly love to turn the clock back.

Thats' a sad excuse for not trying to improve the situation

We are already miles and miles up sh1t creek. Maybe wisest to stop paddling and for all hands to man the pumps.

I questioned Venkys judgment and/or integrity as much as the next guy, but surely its clear they've remarkably improved their performance this year as compared to the last two?

They've made very poor decisions. But is appears Venkys are learning and they are improving and building a real team from the ashes of what they (or those they trusted) destroyed. The only question mark I still have next to their name is Derek Shaw's continued employment.

So we can spew venom over what has gone on in the past, or we can focus on continuing to improve matters. I know which I prefer.

Much as I'm uneasy with Derek Shaw at the helm since Agnew was binned off he's kept a necessary low profile and appears to be getting the club onto a healthier and less corrupt footing. Only time will tell I suppose..

SO YOU WANT US TO BLOW SMOKE UP THEIR ARSES AND MASSGE THEIR EGO......

AYE AW REET

Abbey I'm starting to think that if we managed to get into the play offs and get promoted to the Prem that you would somehow resent it.

I think they're just too financially tied up in this thing to simply wash their hands of it. Also, when the slim prospect of getting back on the PL gravy train could net them enough to wipe out the club's debts and then some, you could see why they'd want to have another stab at this thing before they cut their losses.

btw..... Best yet that Amarillo but true to form her tits are just a few inches too large imo. Obviousy I'm basing my opinion on the 'what doesn't fit in your mouth is a waste' principle. :tu:

Still can't quote but "steadying the ship" - i would liken it to righting the Titanic ;)

We don't know yet if he is the man to take us to the next level - he's sorted out a helluva lot in the last 8 months and i would fancy him to give us a reasonable shot at top 4 next season provided we can bring in a decent backup CB and striker. If Robinson leaves we would also need a replacement.

This post completely ignores our dire financial situation, FFP and a transfer embargo,

We don't need a shot at the Championship top 4 next season. We need the cash bonanza from a PL bottom 4 finish.

With the stronger PL teams who will be relegated next season, it's going to be even tougher.

Aktuella it doesn't. Transfer embargo comes in force january meaning we have the summer and september loan windows to add to the squad. Judging from his actions after the Pune trip Bowyer has been told to get wages down and build a competitive championship team. Promotion this season - No chance but of course there is less drama in "rebuilding" than "we're doomed!"

As for the teams coming down - sure they will have more money but their players will be on even more hideous contracts so same @#/? different years...

So you think that despite the significant drop in parachute payments, Venkys have decided to forfeit our reasonable decent position this season and patiently keep their powder dry (and their funding lines flush) to mount a promotion challenge next year?

There is no sane explanation for ANYTHING Venkys have done since they've been here. The idea that they are planning to continue to fund our additional losses through next season makes no sense. Not when the tactics of the manager are turning their golden goose in a duck egg.

However, assuming that it's only this season they have gone from front-of-house to hotel manager...

Any sane business people having taken on such an albatross would be trying to turn it into a going concern in order to get rid. If they can't do that they cut their losses.

If they do actually think the best business plan is to continue to 'invest' then this must result in promotion. Every season we miss out, that possibility becomes second to relegation. How long will they take to realise that, without ambition and money (including laughing at fines like I expect QPR will), we are simply a mid-table second tier club? Perhaps they are looking over with naive admiration at what is being 'achieved' along the M65. Bumley's luck has done us no favours this season.

As for teams coming down, I think we will start to see an annual rotation of about 25 teams as FFP bites.

Whoa just a minute, they turned into an albatross, we were stable well managed and mid table in the PL with little debt, whereas now!!!!!!!!!

There are 16 games left this season.

That is a third of the season to go. Do we stick or twist?

We have played all the top clubs away bar Reading so my inclination would be let's be brave and go for this.

To be fair to Bowyer he has had a lot of issues to resolve not least the deadwood and leeches. Only Leon Best who must rank as one of the most wasted talents in the game is still with us. His actions come over as a really undesirable character and to get on the wrong side of Bowyer means the guy must fall into the pretty nasty bracket.

To be honest to be only 4 points off the play offs despite all the recent mess is no mean achievement. Like most supporters I am frustrated by our midfield and the fact that many games we are not at the races but injuries and immaturity in this young team have had a major bearing on this season. I really thought at Wigan we were on a roll until Hanley's stupid dismissal derailed the momentum and we have never got that back.

Still need a centre half as cover for the current incumbents but we seem to have a couple of youngsters as options there too. Robinson has given the back line more confidence. Evans return should give us a boost as well and the Conway signing appears to a step forward. Not sure about Varney as he never seemed good enough when he played for Leeds. The French lad is a total unknown quantity but let's hope he puts pressure on Lowe and Williamson do do more form midfield.

Hopefully GB will get his starting eleven sorted as at the moment you cannot name the team from game to game. Stability will be vital from here on in but so will a bit more positivity.

You missed my caveat, Yoda.

Did Venkys turn us into an albatross, or...

(They are still culpable, in my book, by the way but you take my point).

Their name over the door at the time, allegedly

I hope more people who look back now can see it was planned well in advance, with the planting of coco by he who cannot be named and the subsequent obscene transfer charges for mainly donkeys.

You cannot turn the clock back but if the Raos had taken over and done nothing, my money says we would be mid table in the PL, people moaning about the negative football, rumours about transfer kickbacks to offsprings, 20k + attendances and with the additional TV money very probaly NO DEBT.

Stick with what exactly???

I would say he means stick with the manager and team who have improved over the past 12 months, that have us 4 points from a promotion playoff place with 48 points to play for.

I would also suggest to Stuart, the only sane thing the Raos have done since arriving is stick with Gary and allow him to scout and purchase cheaper replacements for expensive dross acquired under the Anglo-Indio-Scottish "let's rip off a premier league club" plan, implemented between 2010/12.

In our last 15 league games we have drawn 7 times, four of which were 0-0

I find this a bit disappointing

In that time, we have won 4 times giving Bowyer a win percentage of just over 25% (hmm)

The biggest failing in this time has to be that the only way we win a game at the moment is if we score in the first half. The vast majority of our wins comes via first half goals. If we're drawing at HT we can't grind a win out in the second half. Only three times all season have we won because of 2nd half goals when drawing at HT. Just suggests Bowyer isn't able to adjust his game plan during a match if it hasnt worked early on

Neal

Sticking with a cautious approach when we go one goal up.

By withdrawing we have conceded the initiative and lost the lead we had on numerous occasions.

To my mind playing both Lowe and Williamson together is unambitious as is playing one up front at home.
