[Archived] Why don't the fans sell the club?

Recommended Posts

Ok, we have the "Trust" seeking funds from fans etc. Why don't we market the club itself- remember Owen Hargreaves video?

Could we not produce something a video of a similar ilk.. "Founder member of the football league! Premier league champions! Crest Fallen".., Phoenix from the flames type stuff. And actively seek out major investment in either the trust or the club directly.

Have the trust tried anything like this! How active are we in attracting further, serious investment? I remember Villareal- I think? Doing something similar and getting donations globally to save their cherished foot all club!

There will be someone out there with money who loves a good ending, just need to sell them the dream!

Not sure it was Villarreal, mate. We've been owned by local businessman Fernando Roig since 1997 - the Spanish equivalent of Uncle Jack, you could say.

Adds more clout, need a contingency plan- a proper one.

I understand the idea and think its a good one. There is a contingency plan being formulated. The Trust has been working for months on a business plan which can be implemented very quickly if or when needed.

We are in the fortunate position of having time to prepare unlike Portsmouth and other clubs who suddenly had to face these issues with only weeks or days to prepare.
