Group of young lads were badly let down yesterday morning by action group (mark fish) who failed to consult them about cancelling the coach to Bournemouth !.A few of the lads were able to get on official coaches but others were left heartbroken after their day was spoiled.Fish was not responding to any calls and some parents were very annoyed that their sons dream day was ruined without any explanation !.Seems ironic that Blackburn Rovers largest fans group can't fill a coach and inform fans properly of the cancellation yet campaign bitterly about the way our club has been run!.

It's happened a number of times to me, but things happen that are out of people's control and I've NEVER been consulted by the trip operators if the trip should go or be cancelled, but usually I've been told in advance of the day that the trip is off.

Be interesting to hear the action groups response, and the 'sons dreams day' line is a little over the top IMO.

Who's dream as a child wasn't to go to Bournemouth to watch Rovers play?

Seriously though, wasn't this guy banned for being a troll some time ago? Not saying this tragedy didn't occur, but just curious as to whether context may be missing.

Given your past of being a pillock where the AG are concerned (and I don't particularly like them myself), I will await their response/explanation before commenting on this alleged incident.

Yes Mark you're right, I thought the same myself when I first read it, posting at this time of night sets the alarms bells ringing also.

Be interesting to get the AG's take on things.

This not surprisingly is a complete twisted take on events.

For the record, Mark was nothing to do with this which will be a disappointment to the poster. I was the committee member present and nobody was left heartbroken or missed the game.

There was a mix up with departure time with the coach company, which meant the coach would arrive at Bournemouth at the last minute or possibly just after kick off, some travellers chose to take a refund and drive down, the others who wanted to travel by coach were transferred to the clubs official travel coach with the difference in cost being paid by the group.

Yes it was unfortunate, but hardly the story the poster hoped it was.

Rubbish!! He said heartbroken and that's good enough for me.

im afraid this explanation doesn't tally with the lads who turned up hoping to travel down to the match but surely you should of filled the coach easily seeing as you have 8000 members?

So if everybody (not sure of numbers) who was booked on the BRAG coach got their prior to kick-off - whether that be by car or official away travel then its not a great start for the newly appointed away travel co-ordinator that BRAG have, but as long as none of the fans are out of pocket then its hardly the disaster painted in the OP.

The questions are:

How many fans were booked on and affected?

Did everybody make it to the match?

Did the BRAG minibus/coach run in the end?

Whose fault was the cock-up?

What lessons have been learnt?

Paul has already said that BRAG are standing the cost of the upgrade - just as well they had some empty seats! ;)

I sense a tedious few weeks now that a poster has had his ban lifted, but again to clarify

Yes everybody made it to the match

No I cancelled the coach (after alternative transport was sourced) as I didn't want people being late and heartbroken with their dream day ruined by missing kick off

There was a genuine mix up in departure times

Lessons are always learnt

A group of lads turned up in the hope of getting on the 'Official Coaches'. Fortunately, there was room for the majority of them. However, as the Rovers coaches are usually full they were very fortunate indeed that on this occasion they were able to get on the official travel. As official coaches are pre-booked it would not have been possible to just turn up on the day in the hope of getting on them if they had been full, as they normally are for trips down south. It might be worth noting for those who want to travel by coach that the 'Official Coaches' and 'Birdy's Coach' are always reliable in that they go to every match. They might not be the cheapest but you know they will turn up.

Fair play for fronting up and answering some of the questions...
