Maybe they wanted to do that. Its not always easy to sell players on high wages and we sure did try to shift all the high earners. We even paid off some of them to get them off the books.

We still have some sellable assets if needed. Rhodes is worth at least 8 mil. Dann a few mil. Not sure what king would fetch if he continues to progress. Hanley also a few mil maybe

Its not like we are millions in debt but have no way of generating cash

The reality is who knows. FFP is a new thing and until its here, implemented and being punished or allowed I honestly dont know what to make of it.

My point about assets was more if we dont go up this year, we do have assets to sell to ease financial issues

I have just listened to the pod cast and thought it very enjoyable, our management team are together and it seems so are the players, this can only get better, i just don't understand the negative posts relating to the pod cast, what more could they say, i thought they were open and honest in their replies to the questions, even Derek Shaw and i never thought i would say that.

It was also obvious that the guys on the panel want to put the past behind them and move on, whilst we as fans really can't forgive the last two years or so i feel we must put that aside and support what we have NOW.

Only time will tell what this team can achieve, when you look at the squad when everyone is fit its not that bad, for me i will fully support GB his team and his efforts, i hope others put their differences aside and do the same.

Yes.

I listened on Radio Lancs and was highly impressed with the almost tangible positive culture set by grounded people who obviously care about the club.

It is easy to see why players would give everything for Bowyer...and Short. Interesting comments by Dunny that the fans would be surprised which players undermined the cause in the days of Keano.

.

I am happy to give my complete support to the team and its immediate management. That is why I decided to renew. What a shame they have been so undermined by Shebby the clown's ridiculous signings.

Significantly, my own approach is to separate the team and the stuff on the pitch from my extreme concern and mistrust of the hierarchy. That mistrust has been well and truly earned and I am not Mary Poppins!

Some leadership and communication would help after all the damage done. Instead, silence. It is not enough to put up a popular, local born player to say they were badly advised etc.

Re Shaw, I am settling on the conclusion that he just took the fall to try and get V's out of paying up Berg's contract. Not very savoury but ....

Re shaw, i think you are probably correct in your assumption, as for Dunny's comments i immediately thought of Givet, Nzonzi and dare i say Nelson, who all fell foul of Kean but still should have had and played with pride, but i could be totally wrong on all three.

I'd assume Givet, Nzonzi and Roberts. Reckon Robbo, Nelsen and Salgado would be too professional to truly speak out while employed.

Samba, Givet and Nzonzi are good bets. I noted Dunny's comment that fans would be surprised. I'd really hate to think of Nelsen being one, but he did say we'd be surprised. Phil Jones certainly appears to have used the change in management to push very hard for a move from the club he supports.

Dunny's comments are a point of perspective and need to be considered in relation to whether he supported Kean or not.

Perhaps he was commenting on players who like supporters needed to "get real" , the ones who let us down on the final day of the great man Keano's first half season by winning at Wolves, the ones who did not come out in the press with their tongues firmly up Keans ring piece.

The comments of Salgado (who I would guess would be lumped into these) vs Dunn, know which side I'm falling on even if he did score the equaliser against the Dingles.

Yes. Good point. He must have some dissonance to resolve and the notion of mutinous team mates would perform a function for him, I suppose.

Both he and Roberts certainly came out in support of the Kean regime, when others were silent or clearly oppositional.

Before you start giving Dunn stick he has never slated any manager that he has played for. Even when we were dire under Ince Dunn stuck by him but in general players will not say anything against any manager while they are still playing.

Saying that there was some stuff that was said on the night that Radio Lancs didn't broadcast (I don't think they did anyway).

Andy Bayes picked out a question and he said something like "We have a question from Steve Kean, do we have a Steve Kean in the room?" Obviously we all started laughing and Andy said "doesn't look like Steve Kean is here tonight"

Dunn then picked up the microphone and said "Thank god for that !" which got a very loud cheer.

The question that was submitted (from Mr Kean) was "who actually discovered Phil Jones".

Dunn then replied that actually he had discovered Jones and he told the manager at the time that he should have a look at him...I can't remember his exact response but I think he was basically taking the p*ss out of THAT you tube clip.

I can't remember exactly what was said but if Dunn was such a Kean fan I don't think he would be taking the mick like he did.

Would beg to differ, the main point being Kean is not here anymore and can't do any favours for Dunns career, whereas at the time I'm sure he would have said nothing of the sort against good old Keano.

Fair enough but plenty of players supported Kean in public. I remember Jordan Rhodes backing him when he was a guest for a sky game. You won't ever get players slating the manager in public.

Or am I wrong. Can you find an example of a player slating Kean ?

Last season Dunn clearly ruffled some feathers because he was stood with the fans for a number of games when he was fit and could have made a difference. He was on his way out but Bowyer brought him back in and he has ended up with a new contract.

Anyway, I think we might be dragging this a bit off topic so will leave it at that.

Think we will have to agree to disagree but there's a difference between a player praising the manager upon joining and one slagging off almost an entire fan base to defend a manager / ensure his future coaching role /contract

If Dunny didn't talk with a Blackburn accent, he wouldn't get half the benefit of the doubt that he does.

He didn't need to tell the fans to 'get real' but he chose to. Now he tells us that it was more the fault of other players than Kean. The same other players that had been performing before Kean took charge.

Kean was Venkys' man so we'll probably never hear any truths from inside the club about what went on with him until they aren't the ones paying people's wages.

Not really, he just shops in primark because he knows no better....we have a budget this season and its been wasted on mediocre

what mediocre players??? ffs. you don't have a clue about the players we signed. most of this season signings were the right type of players we needed. a lot of the signings have experience of the Championship and what it takes to play in this league. that what we need this season!!!

I couldn't give a toss anymore about Kean. cant stand hearing and seeing that name.

He gone now and I want to forget about his time as manager at Rovers.

we need to focus on this season and supporting the players, manager and club this season
