Plastics Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Every so often somebody uses a term which you then don't see the back of for at least a month. Like the first time we played Burnley with the dreaded travel arrangements and all you could hear about was Draconian measures. A valid point perhaps, but it was the only term people seemed to be capable of using. This week it's all been about losing money 'hand over fist'. Another genuine point perhaps, but it's just so annoying to keep reading the same thing over and over again and I can't help but feel that the posters who are using the oft repeated terms are the ones who have less to actually contribute to the discussion. Post when such a phrase gets used far too much and it starts to grate on you.

AndyNeil Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 'call you out' or 'called out' seen it a few times - wtf does it actually mean?
FGS5635 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Not sure its a phrase, but FFP is starting to annoy me
Stuart Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Another "stuff that other posters do that annoys me" thread. Just what we need to improve poster relations on the site. Fernhurst... http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=call%20out

Fernhurst... http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=call%20out I don't think people really care all that much.
Amo Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 'call you out' or 'called out' seen it a few times - wtf does it actually mean? It's the equivalent of slapping someone in the face with a glove and demanding satisfaction.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Calling people out in a thread like seems a bit draconian, have to be careful such criticisms don't lead to the board losing members hand over fist.
perthblue02 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 It's the equivalent of slapping someone in the face with a glove and demanding satisfaction. Unfortunately it doesn't have the same class and romance as the phrase , "you sir are a cad, I challenge you to pistols at dawn" Personally think the world would be a better place if Duels still existed, obviously with both participants dressed like fops. Sure Sky or setanta would pick it up
Backroom Tom Posted October 16, 2013 Backroom Posted October 16, 2013 Calling people out in a thread like seems a bit draconian, have to be careful such criticisms don't lead to the board losing members hand over fist. What's your agenda?
adopted scouser Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Sorry but this thread seems a bit daft to me, and I normally like daft threads
Backroom Mike E Posted October 16, 2013 Backroom Posted October 16, 2013 Venkylove is one I hate. The image alone....ugh *shudder*
Backroom Tom Posted October 16, 2013 Backroom Posted October 16, 2013 Venkylove is one I hate. The image alone....ugh *shudder* Better than Venkyscum as I'm never sure if the break in the word is meant to come after the y or after the s :s
perthblue02 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Venkyscum is a great term space or not but really comes into it's own in capitals, Chicken Dippers is a good one to Do miss the terms tremblers and happyclappers would have made two great foes for Doctor Who Think after the performance on Monday and the adulation that followed Shelfies or Shelvites might be making an appearance
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted October 16, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted October 16, 2013 Carlos kickaball...
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 What's your agenda? I intend to establish a shadowy organisation known as the "Kingdom of Souls" whose primary goal will be to conceal themselves close to meetings, gatherings and arguments of the various Rovers organisations such as BRAG, the Rovers Trust, the club, BRFCS, the Fans Forum and Shebby Singh. Upon achieving such concealment, we will strike by means of the pea shooter at the top brass in each organisation, subtly timing our attacks to make it look like someone from another organisation did it. After waging this war of confusion and chaos until no man is left standing, we will suddenly emerge into the public eye and take over the club..
T.J.Newton Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 'this boards really gone down hill, no wonder all the best posters are leaving' (Or words to that effect) cant say I agree or disagree with the sentiment, the mood of the board seems to just reflect whats happening at rovers in that moment.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Indopaks Einstein's definition of insanity is zzzzzzzzzzzz Dannley G-Bow What the kean, for keans sake etc True fan You're not allowed to post if you don't go to games
Al Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 "Tantric". What the Kean is that supposed to mean anyway? You're not allowed to post if you don't go to games Well in favour of that though.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 You were posting heavily in the Wigan match thread despite previously crying about match threads being filled with posts from people not at the games. We have a fanbase that isn't concentrated in East Lancashire, deal with it. As opposed to harping on about it everyday. Some of the more knowledgeable posters don't go to games, or don't go that often. Their opinions far outweigh those of JAL and Mr E, to name but a few.
Stuart Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Are you sure you meant 'concentrated'? I'd argue the vast majority of Rovers fans live in East Lancashire. As far as an opinion outweighing another. That too is just your opinion.
