Tyrone Shoelaces Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I hate it when people say things like " drilling down into the evidence " and @#/? like that. This is from people normally who've never " drilled down " into anything in their lives. " Going forward " when they mean in the future is another one.

Stuart Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Moaning about 'going forward' is becoming as clichéd as the expression itself.
jim mk2 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Boots on the ground, level playing field, gaining traction, thinking outside the box, upskill, team player and many, many other absurd expressions brought over here from our western colonial outpost.
SouthAussieRover Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 What makes you believe that? I couldnt possibly comment as i dont go to games.
jim mk2 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Reminded of another awful one of Radio 5 Live today - "I know where you're coming from". What's wrong with a simple, I agree ?
broadsword Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24606843 i think the phrase should be "en vogue"
adopted scouser Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Since relocating (all be it temporary) to Darwen I keep hearing 'Oining' I think it means persuading/nagging it's the stupidest thing I've ever heard
Backroom Mike E Posted October 21, 2013 Backroom Posted October 21, 2013 'I have good interpersonal skills'. Ironically one the most annoying things anyone can say. Vomit-worthy.
Al Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I couldnt possibly comment as i dont go to games. Wouldn't expect you to from where you live. Don't be obtuse.
Al Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Since relocating (all be it temporary) to Darwen I keep hearing 'Oining' I think it means persuading/nagging it's the stupidest thing I've ever heard It more closely means "annoying" (verb). Quite widely used in the area.
Backroom Mike E Posted October 22, 2013 Backroom Posted October 22, 2013 It more closely means "annoying" (verb). Quite widely used in the area. I'm a darrener and have never heard it :S
Al Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I'm a darrener and have never heard it :S Must admit that I'd never heard it until I moved to Baxenden but they all use it here. But then they have a few sayings that were new to me like "fleaing" meaning very cold. I hate "Human Resources". So impersonal. What was wrong with "Personnel"?
RoyRover Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Cool, man and lad have made their way into the vocab in Belfast over the recent past. Hell, I even say them myself.
