Mike Graham Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I have followed this Hendry saga with interest over the years, and have firmly come to the conclusion that he is a pretty revolting human being. People argue that we only hear one side of the story and there may be more to it etc,etc - but why is that you have to wonder. Perhaps because Hendry has absolutely zero he can say to defend himself because he knows he is bang to rights. If some-one spews the type of bile all over the press and internet that his ex-neighbour has, and you felt it was untrue, you would be raging and surely do something about it. If not legally, then a few statements and carefully chosen words in your own press pieces would help set the record straight. And it's not like he hasn't had the opportunities to speak out: 2011 - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/real-life/scotland-legend-colin-hendry-vows-1080948 "The only problem I have had with friends over the debt is the MacFarlanes. It was Hector MacFarlane that offered me the money in the first place. I never went to him. I am very sorry it has come to this." My take: "I'll pay my brother and in-laws back cos they are family and I owe smaller amounts to them. But sod the neighbour, not that close to him and his wedge is big!!!" "It was Hector that offered the money" - so friggin what???!!! I have people emailing and texting me daily offering me loans Colin, doesn't mean I just take it with no intention of paying back. You're a grown adult. "I'm very sorry it has come to this" - no you're not really are you Colin. Who would be sorry about 85k of free money. 2014 - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/former-scotland-star-colin-hendry-3254681 On MacFarlane - "I don't have any feelings one way or another about him. I'm just working hard for me and my family and trying to get on with my life. I've got my head down and I'm moving forward. I've been punished for my mistakes and I'm not looking for any excuses, and I'm not complaining either. " Translation: "I couldn't give a toss about MacFarlane. I'm just interested in me, me, me. And luckily our country has laws which allow people like me to walk away from our debts scot free. I'm really hoping people will forget about this as it's been a while now. Yes, I am one of those people with a victim complex. No, I have no reason or justification for what I did. No, I'm not complaining that I got 85k free money." Seriously people, this is a person who according to these articles has a pension of 60K a year after tax and has been earning extra on top of that from our club, and you feel sorry for him?! The bloke should of punched him a lot harder and a lot longer IMO. Good post Silas. CH is a sad human being. A relative who is journo, tells me of some interesting stories about othe members of the CH clan and how one had to leave Rangers at very short notice.

Backroom Mike E Posted May 28, 2015 Backroom Posted May 28, 2015 Aye, but he sins more immorally. And more full stop. My sins right now extend to having an extra whisky on a Friday night after a week on placement.

Yeah, PB, the daughter seems a piece of work as well. 2010 - "Rheagan lives in constant fear.........Things got so bad she wouldn't go out the front door." (MacFarlane incident) 2014 - "This has been a terrible time.........I am sometimes so scared I do not want to leave my own home." (At court after second offence for no car insurance/ bad driving.) Seems the victim culture runs deep in this family. Do those quotes sound like the same timid person who facebooked: "I swear to God, you will find it very hard to step into Lytham again. You started it. And I will very much end it for both of you. "

onlyonejackwalker Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 No sympathy from me. My Mum died last year. Think I'll rob someone.
Mike Graham Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Nice shades....looks like a mafia man. Seriously it is sad to see anyone fall that far and act in that way. He needs help. Perhaps Rovers should offer him a job?
LewisF Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Seriously it is sad to see anyone fall that far and act in that way. He needs help. Perhaps Rovers should offer him a job? If he carries on like this he'll be in prison before he gets a job anywhere
RevidgeBlue Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Not got a lot of sympathy for CH overall but I commented at the time that the Police and CPS must have nothing better to do bringing this to Court and I note that the complainant in question dropped the allegation of assault. Complete waste of time and public money bringing this to Court and there's no way it would have been had he not been such a high profile figure imo. Complete non story. None of the above minimises the seriousness of anything else he may or may not have done though.

Looks like the Police are trying to nip any stalker type behaviour in the bud. Lancs Police are very pro active now since the horrible murder of the nurse at Blackpool Vic Hospital.
Coatbridge rover Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Jesus wept big col falls out with his mrs and the police 🚓 prosecute.Id have her up for wasting police time.
Jock Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Jesus wept big col falls out with his mrs and the police 🚓 prosecute.Id have her up for wasting police time. She isn't his Mrs and he has been warned before to keep away from her.
Coatbridge rover Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Sorry detective his girlfriend Mrs a slang word for that. She dropped the charges, run along and stop some speeding cars.
LewisF Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Jesus wept big col falls out with his mrs and the police prosecute.Id have her up for wasting police time. "Wasting police time", when he's been harassing her..... Are you trying to defend CH?
A cup of beans Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Nice shades....looks like a mafia man. Seriously it is sad to see anyone fall that far and act in that way. He needs help. Perhaps Rovers should offer him a job? It is sad, PB. Enjoyed many a good conversation with him back in his hay day. However, suggesting Rovers should offer him a job is surprising. Unless it's a tongue in cheek "Hendry should be hired as Rovers...?" Topic

Topic It was tongue in cheek :-)) But I do feel sorry for the guy (he is clearly ill) but do not excuse any of his boorish actions.

If he is mentally ill that excuses a lot in my book.He is being hounded because of what he did with the old couple.I think they we're foolish to lend him cash but I know people in the Hendry camp that tell me monies are being repaid. But that does not make good reading

Coatbridge rover Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 The sleuths on this site missed the report this week were the so called victim was reported in the press that she did not want the police 🚓 to prosecute.
Jock Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 It would be a good move to quietly pay the couple back with yearly payments. Get the debt paid off with a little bit of interest and then everyone could move on.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted August 13, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted August 13, 2015 The sleuths on this site missed the report this week were the so called victim was reported in the press that she did not want the police to prosecute. Maybe she couldn't be bothered with all the hassle? He's not got the best track record since he finished playing has he? Is it completely inconceivable to you that he might be guilty?

Yes it's only fair after the panning he's had whether it was deserved or not. Obviously he's stepped out of line again so this might have done him good, a bit of a wake up call if he's any sense. It does sound though like a fuss out of nothing after reading her version of events.
