A good result, especially considering Boro will have been on a high after their last result. It's imperative to win as many home matches as possible at any level, so it's excellent to win today. Well done all, good to see Lowe finally get off the mark in terms of goals. Sounds like today was a solid performance with one moment of quality to nick the victory.

Kean made a good save apparently. Tom not so quick to report that. ;)

Routine saves shouldn't need mentioning, although for Kean it seems somewhat of an achievement at the moment.

Anyway poor first half but the second was much better like a cup tie. Much needed win.

Young goalkeepers make mistakes. You're very quick to jump on him when he does, whilst keeping schtum when he makes a good save. Your bias is showing.

And (I don't like having to play this card) the fact you don't ever see games is showing, his errors aren't due to youth the one today was totally under no pressure gathering a ball trickling along and he failed to hold it. These are the kind of errors he is making week after week.

It now seems the defence don't trust him as today they were dealing with things right in front of him rather than letting him take control, add to that the majority of his kicks were straight out of play and it's clear he's our weak link. It seems all or nothing as well last home game he came for everything and today never left his line.

For what it's worth I don't recall and great saves but he dealt with a couple of routine ones well enough.

Anyway we won without the keeper having to do too much, I liked the look of Killgallon who seems happy to bring the ball out of defence and young Morris did very well second half I thought.

Lowe was solid as ever and what a goal whilst I thought Williamson also put a good shift in. King was poor in the first but tore boro apart second half and is just unplayable in full flight.

Rhodes was isolated had a couple of half chances and a really good moment of centre forward play to get woodgate booked.

Out of interest why did the manager decide to sign Songo'o after a 7 year trial if we refuse to use him when we are out of centre backs?

Hope killgallon isn't too badly hurt as he played well, ironically it seemed he got hurt and had to go off after being kicked by woodgate who should himself have been walking off after that

Much better 2nd half, and if you're going to score once every Preston Guild, then I'd take that! Williamson worked hard, Cairney is wasted wide right, King could be an important player with a better final decision making. Borough were very cynical 2nd half, how they kept 11 on......well, it was because we had a very poor ref yet again. 5 yellows, didn't give bob on pen.....but very happy, moving on!

Shocking game, good result and great goal from the much maligned Lowe.

It has to to be said though that, Cairney apart, we're woefully short in quality. None of the other players can make a yard, get their head up and pick a pass. We're very much a team of average Joes limping towards a mid-table finish.

I thought the ref was kind to us for 60 mins, booked them when warranted and played advantage really well, however he then missed a blatant penalty and red card then an arm in Rhodes face (which on first viewing didn't look as bad as Rhodes made out but a definite yellow again)

On another day they would have been down to 9 men

Woodgate has a tendency to get away with murder against us

Pretty poor game but I will take it with winning and getting a clean sheet. Thought Williamson and Lowe had very solid games, Cairney is absolutely wasted out wide and showed what he could do whenever he was central.

Rhodes should have buried his free header, most people would agree he doesn't do a lot but score if that's acceptable he needs to bury free headers from 8 yards.

Lowes goal was an absolute worldie!!! Similar distance to Evans against Bolton for all those who haven't seen it.

Ref had a mare, penalty was about as clear as they get Killgallon was booted in mid air, also had to go off injured for his troubles. Couldn't really tell the elbow incident but the whole bench seemed incensed so would feel there was something in it.

Watching Kean kick 80% of his long balls out is starting to grate.

The game seems pretty irrelevant though after seeing our turnover to wages figures!

Just back from the match and quite pleased. They worried me for first 20 mins as they appeared up for it more than us. All those slating Bowyer for his tactical limits should look at how he switched King and Judge round inthe first half and what a difference it made to the game. King was excellent today and certainly made the difference when he moved up front. I have mentioned before that I feel this could be his best position as he is powerful and very quick. Well done Bowyer, much better than the Charlton game.

Kean - horror moment in first half but ok after that.

Kane - still worries me

Dann - ok

Killy - worries me

Spurr - ok while on the pitch

Cairney - good, must try and keep him

Judge - very good dead ball player

Lowe - good

Williamson - not convinced at all

King - MOM, terrorised their defence and ran his heart out, well done that lad!!

Rhodes - unlucky not to score and worked hard

Subs

Taylor - very lightweight

Marshall - Usual performance

Morris - ok

We need Dunny, Rochina and Evans back ASAP.
