although a bad injury list. They do have some good young players who are being given their chance.

Rovers had the chances. But their keeper made some good saves to be honest.

If they had a goalscorer they would have gone up last season, maybe even the season before !

But we shipped 3 goals against their reserve team, not good !

Just been having another look at Etuhu's career record, no other club in world football, would give a journeyman like him a 4 year deal,

but we did on a huge salary too.

The whole place still has a terrible stench about it. even though Gary Bowyer may be trying his best.

I agree about the stench, but I am trying to get my head around a kind of we are where we are/what can be done about it. Fat chance!

Injuries haven't helped Bowyer one bit.

As soon as Etuhu came on after such a long absence the first thing I thought was what a risk...but, unlike GB, I hadn't seen him train etc...with hindsight it looks like an awful selection error...with hindsight, I stress.

Listening to the radio, it sounded like it was just one of those days. Believe me, I have seen many over the years..missed chances/ super opposition keeper plus terrible defensive mistakes.

Reading this it looks like a much worse performance than the radio description.

The trouble with all the anger/resentment( perfectly reasonable human responses to the last 3 years) every defeat is merely a valve for all the frustration to leak out.

I think that is the way things will be until the Venky's go...imo...They are like a poison that infects everything.

Whatever the analysis of debt and our financial reliance on them, we can certainly never move on with them.

Agreed. Though I think they are a better team (Brighton) than they were last season - more positive / direct going forward. I was sat at the half way line. First 20 minutes of the 2nd half, rovers were ok. Just needed to take the chances they had. Kusack (sp) had a very good game to be honest.

It is funny to watch how this MB swings violently from one extreme to the other based on individual results. Even more amazing is people judging players without actually having been at the match !

Dear me. Does one really have to have gone today to realise we have: sh!te owners; crap players; a leading scorer who can't control the ball with his first touch; a goalkeeper with flappy hands; a "nice" manager who is as effective as a chocolate fireguard; and as much chance of promotion this season as I have of getting pregnant.

I was hugely impressed by brighton today. The amount of points they've picked up despite their horrendous injury list is incredible.

It was pretty even today but they were better defensively and their GK made some good saves. King and Cairney caused them a lot of problems.

Quite a long time since JR scored in open play isn't it? He's gonna be worth nowt by January. :(

The problem I have( and it sounds as though I am not alone ) I thought we had moved on from the likes of Etuhu, I would have been happy

if he had never played for us again, regardless of his contract.

Best post of the day !

We take the cliché 'consistently inconsistent' to epic proportions.

This season is teasing / frustrating / brilliant / kean / exciting / worrying

I just cant get my head round us at times.

The owners have too go ....

So many poor performances today. Judge is not good enough, lowe can only pass backwards, kean can't hold on to the ball, kane is lightweight in too many 50/50s. Bowyer also got a lot wrong - spurr wasn't fit (or is too slow) etuhu wasn't fit -both cost us.

I back bowyer but his rose tinted view of some players is getting old. Judge should be nowhere near the first team. Lowe shouldn't be doing shooting practice - he should be doing move and pass forward with the ball practice.

The only players i thought aquitted themselves well were king and cairney. The rest were poor.

Brighton really produced a performance that was greater than the individuals they had. Our highly paid stars didn't show up again.

My first long distance away game for some time, no comment on performance other than to note the two crucial moments for me, Williams having to go off and Rhodes missed sitter at end of first half. Unlike others on here I thought the stadium was like so many other new ones, a characterless steel and breeze block edifice. The concourse floors were like banana skins too, a few folk almost went ass over tit. Also, what a pain in the ass getting there and back. No wonder the Brighton fans look miserable, even though they had won 3 0, having to go through that every game. They really are a bunch of miserable gits.

Have'nt been to that stadium but must admit, when I looked at the location on Google earth, ' out on a limb ' as it is,

seems a bit of a miserable place to go and watch your football.

Can't beat Ewood for the big games, pub crawl on the way to the ground, the atmosphere on the streets, all those smiley faces filled with expectation,

what have they done to us ? where did it all go wrong ?

I am sick and tired of us making mistakes, its getting beyond a joke. Some teams are better than you, thats football but gifting goals is criminal. We can say we are a mid table team and that these games happen but every goal today is avoidable, we give away stupid penalties too often. We in my opinion so often lose games ourselves through mistakes as opposed to our opponents winning the games for themselves. We had annual thumpings in Premiership at places like The Emirates etc but you could accept that as they are class outfits but we now just seem to lose games through stupid errors on the majority of occasions.

Another point that is also starting to grip my kean is we pay the biggest wages in the league but we don't appear to have adequate replacement for the leagues most out of form right back & goalkeeper and we only have one striker in the whole squad it would appear (who doesn't like headbutting people).

Really? It is easy to get to. I live an hour away from there by train. whenever I get to a match there, I can easily get home before 7pm. Very curious to know how you went to the match and from where.

Sorry Preston - didn't realise you went to the match. Must have missed something - as my summation that the MB swings from one extreme to the other depending on individual results is on the whole accurate.

Also - did I mention promotion - did I defend players ?

BTW - for what it is worth - I don't think we have crap players, I don't think Bowyer is a soft manager - and I do think promotion is a possibility. I agree about Rhodes - but have always said that I do wonder whether as a team we would be better without him (or we need to somehoe derive a formation that works for him), I also agree about Kean.

I knew we were doomed as soon as I saw that Etuhu was coming on, gives away a penalty almost straight away bad enough ! 6 mins later

fouls the same player right on the edge of the box.

What the hell is that all about !

He should have scored the only chance he had in the first half to be honest. But wasn't brilliant today at all.

So was I to be honest. Though not good in the first half - either side really. Think they have a couple of good players in Rohan Ince & Jake Forester - Caskey. Ironically Barnes had a bad game yet scored twice. When he grabbed the ball to take the penalty, Brighton fans around me did not want him to take it.

As per your instructions. Train out from Brighton. Thought coming away from ground was bad. Grumpy stewards at Falmer station herding folk about in little packs onto platform, waiting for ages for train back into Brighton. Not blaming you by the way, Pafell. Not helped by then having to get bus to Hayward's Heath for train to Victoria. Brighton has become a right Bo Ho community and I thought their fans were a miserable bunch of snobby types. Not a pleasant trip there, and I would have said that had we won 10 0! Give me Barnsley any day.
